About this property

We have some great weeks left this spring and a few for the summer of 2024, so come and enjoy our beautiful ocean-front home. It is waiting for you and your family to enjoy. Our home has the space and location for a great vacation.
Our beach house is located in beautiful Topsail Beach, N.C. From the moment you walk in you'll be wowed by the large windows overlooking the beach and ocean. The large living spaces give you plenty of room to relax and spend time with the ones you care about. Whether you are looking to cook a great meal, relax in the living room with a good book, or sit at the dining room table playing games with friends and family, you can do it all while soaking in the great views of the ocean and beach.
The property features a large deck and a dune top platform for sunbathing and watching the world go by as you sit at the ocean's edge. We have direct, private access to the beach.
The main level features a master suite with its own deck looking out over the ocean, two other bedrooms and a second bathroom. The living room is large, stretching from the front to back of the house. The front wall of the living room is nearly all windows, giving you a great view of the ocean and beach. The kitchen is also large with two sinks, a microwave, a kitchen island with plenty of counter space for fixing a sandwich or a gourmet meal. The dining area is part of the kitchen and has comfortable seating for 12. Again, the front kitchen wall is practically one large window so you can enjoy your meal while watching the sea.
The lower level has the fourth bedroom that can sleep four, a third bathroom, a bonus/game room and a garage.
We also have an elevator for our guests.
Our walkway and deck feature an outdoor shower that allows you to rinse off the sand before coming inside.
Our home is ideal for families looking to spend time at the beach or large extended families looking to be together in a beautiful setting.
The living room has a 50-inch flat-panel TV. The master also includes a flat-panel television. The wifi is strong throughout the house.
The kitchen is well appointed with range and microwave. We have a coffee maker, blender, and plenty of dishes, bowls and pots and pans. We also have a large electric griddle if you need to make a mess of pancakes.
The washer and dryer are conveniently located off the kitchen.
Please note that is a 7-day, Saturday-to-Saturday only rental. Check in is typically 5 pm Saturday with check out the following Saturday morning at 10 am.
We do not provide linens or towels or beach items like chairs or umbrellas.
We'll consider one dog up to 50 pounds for an extra $100 fee but contact me ahead of time so we can talk.
There are four grocery stores within a 15 minute drive of the home (IGA on the island in Surf City, Food Lion and Publix on the mainland and Harris Teeter near Highway 17).
The home also features a keypad entry system so you won't need to fuss with keys. You and your family can chose your own four-digit code for the week.
We hope you enjoy your time at the beach and think of our home as your home. This home has brought us lots of joy and we hope it'll do the same for you and your family.

GREAT! HOUSE!!!

Sand in Your Toes was beyond our expectations. The house was perfect for our family of eight. We cook a lot and the kitchen had everything we needed. It is a quick walk to the beach for ferrying chairs and umbrellas. The porch was very comfortable with both shade and sun. Well, like I stated, an excellent beach house. Nick and Beth communicated with essential information and were very accommodating. We will definitely stay again. Sherry

Great house and location

The property was more spacious and much prettier in person. The view was amazing and there’s a huge deck to enjoy it from. The location in Topsail was great. Would highly recommend this property. Nick was always fast to respond with questions I had before I booked it.

Very relaxing home!

This property is laid out perfectly! We were able to have wonderful dinners as a family, put together puzzles on another table, play games in the garage, fish right off the sand, and the gates allowed our pup to enjoy the porch also. Owner was responsive. No issues and everything was exactly as described, if not much better!

Great home for the week

We loved our week at Topsail Beach, and this was a great home for our group. The layout of the home is convenient and comfortable. We also appreciated the abundant kitchen amenities. Nick was great to work with, and we enjoyed his recommendations, as this was our first visit to Topsail. We highly recommend this home.

Great Beach House

The beach house was perfect for our family. Right on the beach with private access to waterfront. Well equipped air conditioned home. Nick the owner was easy to access and pleasant. Simply put..I would stay here again.

Beautiful home and great location

We had a great stay. The home is beautiful and very spacious. The deck is the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the ocean view We love the south end of the island, the location was perfect. It was also nice having the large parking area.

A Little Piece of Heaven

We absolutely loved the house, especially the views and the access to our own private beach. The house was well equipped, with plenty of space and the ocean views were just breath taking. We spent our mornings on the back deck enjoying our coffee and the sunrise and in the evenings gazing at the moon and stars while listening to the waves crash against the shore. Very peaceful and relaxing in a quiet area of the island. Enjoyed every second of our quality time and the precious moments we got to spend with our Marine. We look forward to returning.

Great location on Topsail with wide beaches

We enjoyed that the house was situated in an area with a wide beach and few visitors. No need to worry about overcrowding and plenty of room for the kids to play. The deck was large with plenty of shade so you could enjoy the sunsets while sitting and relaxing. Another nice feature was that the air conditioning worked really well (we stayed the beginning of June) and we have had issues in the past at other rentals. Elevator worked well and this was a plus. House was well stocked, the only negative is that some minor updating and repairs should be addressed. Will stay again

Perfect beach hang

Our family enjoyed a week long stay at the beach and the house was perfect! We loved the many windows with views straight to the ocean and the boardwalk with shower to wash off the sand before heading inside. The property has nice plant barriers to increase privacy. Overall everyone loved it

Cozy home with perfect location

We loved this vacation spot. TopSail is a favorite of ours and this home was a perfect match for us. Plenty of room and we loved the covered deck. Easy access to the beach and we loved walking and riding our bikes through the neighborhood across the street. House was very clean and plenty of kitchen tools to satisfied our cooking needs. The owner was super friendly and easy to work with. We loved every moment!

Overall, a great time was had by all.

Only negative was the First Impression. The house looked as expected but the yard was overgrown and front door paint was peeling and gave a negative impression to begin with. These 2 small things if corrected would make all the difference ! Only other suggestion: replace kitchen flooring as had a seam that had pulled apart in middle of the floor. Know it's hard to keep everything perfect when you are renting, but this is such a great cottage in every way and I will be happy to rent again. Nick, you were a joy to work with. I hesitated saying this as you were so nice. Thanks for letting us rent this wonderful house, Gay Eatman

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Our stay was cut short by Hurricane Dorian. The property was just as pictured. We had 3 couples and 4 children. Lots of room to spread out with privacy for everyone. The master is very spacious with a huge closet area that was perfect for a pac-n-play or crib. Beach was beautiful and there were plenty of comfortable chairs on the deck. Kitchen had everything we needed and was very well stocked. We also especially liked the low deck and felt the house was very child friendly. Nothing bad to say about this house- I would stay here again! (minus the hurricane)

A Very Nice Week at the Beach

We had a wonderful stay at this house with our extended family last week. So great to be able to walk right off the back deck and down a few steps to the sand! For those looking for an updated and stylish home, be aware that this is not it, as the furnishings, fixtures, flooring, windows and decor are all a bit old and worn. That said, the house is huge, comfortable, and right on the beach. Nick the owner was great to deal with, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Comfortable with unbeatable views!

We had a great time at this home - one family with three kids and one dog, plus our parents and grandparents. The views of the ocean from the house (inside and from the seaside porch) were beautiful. The mattresses were firm and comfortable, and the kitchen was very well stocked. While the house wasn't spotless when we arrived (cruddy sink, dirty dishes in the cabinets, debris in the dresser drawers), and the tub in the main bathroom didn't drain well, it wasn't too bad. The layout of the house worked very well for us, and the elevator was a big plus for grandma's mobility issues. The sand toys and beach chairs provided were a nice touch also! Overall, if you want a decent house on the beach but you're on a budget, this house is a winner! We would book this home again for our summer vacation.

All about the beach!

We had a wonderful week! The house was very clean and the location, views are hard to beat. Topsail is a quiet beautiful beach~just what we were looking for! We did use the linen/towel rental service Nick suggested and it was efficient and easy! The house has plenty of room, the kitchen well appointed. Great way to end the summer!

Great week but there is always something to comment on.

A great week of weather after being a bit worried about Tropical storm Chris lurking in the ocean. For the most part the kitchen was supplied with all we needed. A toaster would be nice though the toaster oven worked fine. A house that sleeps 12 people needs more than one frying pan. The biggest negative was hauling linens for all the beds along with towels. Beach chairs would have been nice but that was not a huge deal. The deck was great with plenty of chairs and the beach was beautiful. We saw evidence of pests in the kitchen that seem to show up during the night. Not sure what that was. Location was awesome and the house floor plan was great. All in all a great beach house on a beautiful beach. Thanks.

Very nice beach house, with amazing beach!

This beach house had everything the pictures conveyed. Very clean, beautiful views, everything working properly, and plenty of kitchen items for cooking. The view from the living room, kitchen, and master bedroom along with the decking and access to the beach, made this house for us, one of our best rentals. Owner was very responsive and booking was a breeze. We used sweet dreams linens for sheets, towels, beach chairs, bogey, and a surfboard. The beach was large perfect for walks or jogs, and had very few people all week. One restaurant I would recommend would be the Beach Shop & Grill. The food, drinks and service are all great. Thank you Nick & Beth from Marty & Beth for letting us rent this very nice property!

Comfort and location

Don't know what more we could have wanted! Plenty of parking and easy access, close to our favourite Beach Grill (Warren's to me!), furniture you sat ON not IN, as we have found at so many other rentals, firm bedding and plenty of it! The kitchen had every gadget we needed, and it was on the ocean - we have already booked the next trip. I think we have finally found our home away from home at Topsail Beach! We loved every second we were there!!!

Wonderful location, Comfortable home, fun time!

We were looking for a place to stay at the beach for our paren'ts 50th anniversary that would have plenty of room for all of us, provide accommodations for mother's mobility issues and most of all, be close to the beach. The Wakeman's house has it all and more! The house is super clean, the layout is great, there is plenty of seating for everyone. The view from the dining table makes breakfast extra special. The elevator was a big help to our mother. The wi-fi is strong which is a big plus for teenagers who need to stay connected. ;) We have been going to Topsail Island for years, and this was by far the best visit. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a place at Topsail Island and would definitely rent again!

On one side of the family, our parents starting coming to the beach shortly after the island after World War II. It has been a place where brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and lots of cousins have come to be together, hunt for the biggest shark's teeth, learn to water ski, and enjoy the beach.
On the other side of the family, the dad (Nick) visited Topsail Beach the year before he met his future wife. He and his friends joked about buying a place of their own. It only took nearly 15 years before he and his wife were able to make that happen.

Why they chose this property

Buying this property was a once in a lifetime opportunity because it is so close to the home our extended family has had since the 1950s. We knew we'd regret it if we let this slip by.
When we first walked in we were amazed at the great views and the spaciousness of the living areas. You won't find this in many other beach houses. You'll have room to gather and room to curl up with a good book.
