About the host
Hosted by Phil Gamston

Hi, my name is Phil and I live in London with my wife Julia. We both work in healthcare for the NHS. We have three kids, two at uni and one at home with us. We love the outdoors and enjoy lots of different activities including, boating, kayaking, hillwalking, cycling and surfing. We love Cornwall and visit our beautiful home as often as we can, there is so much to do and enjoy, we know you'll love it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
We have been holidaying in Cornwall for many years and Golant holds a special place in our hearts, it is such a friendly and charming place. When you are there the rhythm of your life changes to the ebb and flow of the tide and the river. The changing light, the weather, the wildlife, the gentle activity on the water, there is always something to see and enjoy.
We were fortunate enough to buy our beautiful home last year in 2018, it is such a welcoming home with so much to enjoy we wanted to share it with others.

What makes this property unique
River View is a large house that's perfect for family occasions, it is a unique location and offers truly incredible views over the river Fowey.
The tiered gardens are busy with wildlife and our house-martins have returned for the summer. The attic is a registered bat roost and we have confirmed the presence of Pippestrel bats.
There is so much to see and do here including kayaking on the river, hiring a boat to explore the estuary or walking directly from the house into the beautiful countryside, you cannot fail to relax.
The Fishermans Arms pub in the village is a vibrant social hub for locals and visitors, serving excellent food and local beers. Further afield the historic town of Fowey will offer boutique shops, restaurants and bars.
There are a number of National trust and botanical gardens to visit along with numerous local beaches.
We know you will enjoy your time in Cornwall and we hope you will enjoy our beautiful home.
