Welcome to "My Hiding Place", our well-appointed and family friendly inverted floor plan 4bd/3.5ba oceanfront home. The recurring theme in the guestbook comments for "My Hiding Place" seems to be: "the house had everything we needed and more!".
"My Hiding Place" is located just steps from the island's grocery, beachfront ice cream shop and fishing pier/pier restaurant. Amenities include : big screen HDTV with apple TV, books, video games, board games, charcoal grill, outdoor shower (hot and cold water), beach toys, boogie boards, a beach umbrella and beach chairs.
For families with babies and small children, the house is also equipped with a Pack N Play, high chair, booster chairs, changing table, twin bed rails and baby gate. There is something for every family member, younger and older!
Uniquely furnished bedrooms each offer a ceiling fan and TV. The "flex" room can function as a fifth bedroom (full-size sofa bed) or a second den. The "flex" room also has a separate HDTV and a Playstation 2 with games. Outside, four covered porches with rocking and lounge chairs allow you to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze and views of Holden Beach or the island interior. Directly off of the rear porch, an in-ground saltwater pool (6' deep) with surrounding deck awaits your group. Right beyond the pool is your private dune walkway to beautiful Holden Beach, where we hope you will make fantastic vacation memories!!

Family Vacation

What a wonderful place to stay with family! We use the pool nonstop and would go from the pool to the beach shower off get back in the pool all day every day! The house was comfortable well stocked and just wonderful!

Ocean Paradise

Absolutely wonderful and amazing beach and home. Loved all the different levels and decks to view the ocean or the city on the other side. The pool was a very big plus!!! It was clean and we all enjoyed it. The kitchen is the most well equipped kitchen we have encountered. Plenty of dishes and baking pans, Our visit was during tropical storm Debbie. The house is well built and we stayed as there was only a voluntary evacuation. The property manager Rhonda Byrd stayed in contact with us the whole time. We were all fine and we played many board games the home has. Lots of books and movies for our boys. Our family truly hated to leave this amazing place. if anyone has a concern a call to the property manager is all that is needed. The house is close to the General Store but the best is that we were only several doors down from the Hershey ice cream store - awesome ice cream. That was dessert every evening! We highly recommend this lovely home for a great vacation.

Fantastic vacation!

We absolutely loved the house and location! The house and pool were spotless, kitchen has everything you could need! Property manager Rhonda was very responsive and pleasant, and quickly addressed a minor issue. Beach area a mix of soft sand and patches of shells and sea biscuits, which was perfect. Highly recommend this property and we would definitely stay again!

2024 Holden Beach Fam Hideway "Best Ever"

Fun Times in the Pool and at the Beach

Our family’s stay at My Hiding Place was everything we expected. Pool and beach all day, everyday. Meals easy to prepare and enjoy in the kitchen/dining room or on the grill. Conveniently close to a general store for last minute items and to an ice cream store for after dinner.

Amazing Hide-a-way!

Vacation was amazing! No one wanted to leave, from kids to adults! Enjoyed being away from tourist attractions and crowds on daily basis but enjoyed being close enough to go out when wanted! Communication with owner and property manager was great! Plenty of space for everyone! House was stocked well, we didn’t have to travel as heavy and know next stay we can take even less! We will definitely be returning!!

We LOVED our week at “My Hiding Place”! It was even better than we could have imagined. The location is wonderful. The house was so clean and comfortable. Wonderful Place for Family Vacation

Our family had a wonderful week at My Hiding Place. Temps in the 70’s and clouds did not stop us from enjoying the heated pool and the beach. The house was clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils, books and games. Communication with the property manager was excellent. She kept us informed and responded immediately to questions. Next door to a little store and an ice cream shop. Highly recommend this property for a family vacation.

Wonderful stay

Couldn’t have asked for a better house to stay in for our family vacation! The view of the water from the very lovely porches every day was the best. The pool was perfect and a nice touch. The house itself had plenty of room and had a well stocked kitchen with everything you could think of. Communication with the property manager during our stay was quick and easy. The little general store right next door was a nice bonus.

Beautiful Home, Beautiful Location

We love Holden Beach & have been vacationing in the area for the past 10yrs but this was our 1st time staying at My Hiding Place & we could not have been happier with our stay! This is a very well kept & clean house, with lots of space for a large family. It is well stocked with tons of kitchen essentials, pool toys, beach chairs & toys, books, games & movies. We enjoyed beautiful views from the multiple decks while eating breakfast & dinner. Our kids LOVED the pool and spent nearly every waking hour swimming during our trip :) Both the owner & property manager were very kind & easy to communicate with prior to arrival and during our stay. We will definitely plan to stay here again on future trips to the area!

What a terrific week we had at My Hiding Place!! Everything inside & outside of the home was exactly as described and did not disappoint!! The view and proximity to the ocean was wonderful - and the pool was absolutely delightful!! Both the owner and the property manager were responsive and quite easy to work with. This was especially true when hurricane Ian moved in and we had a lot of questions - the property manager was very very helpful. I would absolutely recommend this home to others - especially with young children - as there is every accessory needed for those traveling with young kids! Great place!

We loved this house! It was really clean and really well stocked with many things provided that normally aren't at a beach house, which made it feel really homey. We also loved how well it was set up for young kids and that kid stuff like high chair and booster seats were provided. Great location. We had a wonderful stay!

Our family has been coming to Holden Beach for many years and loving every minute of it. We recently decided to get our own place to enjoy year round.
We live in Durham, NC. My husband and I work at Duke Hospital/University respectively.
We are excited to share our beautiful home with your family. It brings great joy to us learning that your family had a wonderful & memorable vacation at this house.

Why they chose this property

This house has everything we were looking for. Oceanfront with pool, just the right size so everyone is comfortable, porches on each floor, oceanfront and street front, cozy and lovely.
Previous owners had been taking very good care of it and we hope to do just that for us and our guests to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

The house is located in the 400 unit block, close to the pier. Next door is a convenience store which comes handy if you missed a food item. One door down is the famous ice cream store which is a big hit in the Summer!
The pool, usually open from March - November and can be heated, is a wonderful addition for all ages, especially the little ones who can't be in the ocean for long.
