Without doubt Tucking Cottage is situated in a most stunning location.
Without doubt Tucking Cottage is situated in a most stunning location. We could not have chosen a more idyllic place to spend Christmas. It was so relaxing and peaceful, with the beauty and simplicity of nature all around in the beautiful grounds. Sara, the owner, was so considerate and welcoming and her two lovely dogs were so friendly, as was Darcy, Sara's most gorgeous cat, who we totally fell in love with. It was by far the best place we have ever stayed and we will definitely be going back.

Excellent accommodation, Tucking Cottage is beautiful, comfortable and very well equipped.
Excellent accommodation, Tucking Cottage is beautiful, comfortable and very well equipped. The grounds surrounding the cottage are astonishing, half of it a wild wonderland full of glorious trees, ferns and streams..the rest of the grounds consists of exquisitely manicured lawns and carefully executed planting. The ruined mill (brilliant place for a picnic) and wooden sculptures just make the place even more magical. The owner of the property was lovely, friendly (without being intrusive) and very knowledgeable of the nearby attractions, nothing was too much trouble, and her dogs were adorable. I would quite happily have stayed on site for the whole week! The lack of light pollution means that the night sky was astonishingly clear (tempted to bring our telescope next time we book)..and the bird feeders by the cottage meant that we were entertained by a variety of woodland and garden birds as we ate our breakfast every day. Bring your camera!
