Great place to enjoy the Mackinaw City area!
Great place to enjoy the Mackinaw City area. The cabin has everything you need to make meals and is clean, nice and cozy. I think it looks better than on pictures. The only complaint we have is the mattress, it is too soft. Other than that, a really nice cabin with fire pit and benches just steps to Lake Huron and the views of the lake and the Mackinac Bridge are spectacular.

Beautiful sunrises
The Birch Lodge cabin 2 was right on the straights Lake Huron side. Cool nights and warm afternoons. The water is warmer than Lake Michigan ,rocky bottom , so bring water shoes.

Beautiful property and cabin
This is a beautiful cabin right on Lake Huron. Enough room for my wife and kids (though we only had one of our two children with us) to spread out a little bit, and yet quite cozy as well. Awesome sunrise view, and you can see the Mackinac bridge from the fire pit

Wonderful Cabin
This was our first time being in Northern Michigan and the cabin was wonderful. It had everything we needed and the kids loved being so close to the lake! The views were absolutely breathtaking! We met some great people who were staying in the other cabins as well and the couple in cabin 1 were super helpful and informative on places to go and things to do! It is definitely one of our favorite vacations to date! We’ve already decided that we’ll be back in the future and will stay here!

both positives and negatives are strong
Very nice cabin - well built, clean, unique layout, used the deck and screened porch. Highway so close it drowned out the sound of the waves and we wished for more seclusion. WORST: the beds. All of them were lumpy and tilted. If they had been good beds, we would have rated this a 4-5 star place. Multiple problems with contradictory info on the contract and also with phone conversation. Directions on lock box were wrong. Brochures were at least a year old and there is no online connection and rare phone connection with which to check on activities. We didn't like being in a circle of cabins - BUT - that's a personal preference. The grounds were impeccably kept and beautiful.

Loved it!
We spent the week here and it was wonderful! My husband and kids aged 13 and 11 thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. It was exactly as pictured. Very well kept and clean. The view of Lake Huron was superb and it was so relaxing and serene. We did a lot of day trips throughout the week that were about an hour away (Cross in the Woods, Tunnel of Trees, Soo Locks, Mackinaw Island, Garlyn Zoo, Mystery Spot, Lighthouse, Colonial Michillimackinac, Mill Creek Discovery Park) and then were able to come back and relax. We all slept very well..the beds were so comfortable. The only small improvement would be to have a bit more microwaveable cookware. We would highly recommend this spot. It was the perfect size for our family of four!

Beautiful Cabin and GREAT Location
We enjoyed our time at this beautiful well kept and clean cabin. Couple things to note: *Keep the cabin windows and doors shut during the day to help it maintain the cool temps during the summer months. Then in the evening go ahead and open for the cool air. It seems to stay cooler during the day with the windows and doors shut - sounds crazy but true. *Bring bug spray! The mosquitos were mighty and could be annoying but nothing that a little spritz here and there of bug spray on yourself won't take care of. *Loved the common area of benches and fire pit. Enjoyed getting to know our neighbor Don and his wife and the other people staying in the other cabins. *Cabin is stocked with everything you need in the kitchen (plates, cups, pots, pans, etc.). I did bring my own dish towels and kitchen wash cloth/sponge (these were provided but kinda nasty). You do have to provide your own sheets/blankets/towels/hand towels/bath mat (they did have a bath mat but it looks like it had been used A LOT so I opted out). Kind of a pain to bring all of that but not too bad. *Loved the location to be away from the busyness of Mackinaw City but could make the drive easily to go in and catch the ferry to the island or go elsewhere. We went to SOO Locks and Canada for the day, rafting with Big Bear Adventure, went to a winery in Petokey, road bikes around the island for the day, went to Whitefish Point a couple times, made it to Munising to hike and see waterfalls (Chapel Falls/Rock & Munising Falls) for a day and even spent time chilling at the cabin. *There really wasn't a beach made of sand to hang out in. Mostly rocks. Recommend water shoes. During the morning the water was clear and calm but by afternoon it was murky and a little rougher. We still got out in it. :) Hope this helps others considering using this cabin. :) HAVE FUN!

beautiful cottage. very clean and comfortable. we loved it.
the cottage was just the right size for the two of us. The main problem was that there is not enough light in the living room. My wife did not like the timer on the floor lamp. and the couch did not have a floor light. We like to read in the evening and the lights on the ceiling light were were too dim to to help much. We really liked the screened porch. The neighbors were very Friendly and helpful. Our stay was very peaceful and relaxing. I think that we would like to rent it next year.It is a great place.

Great place to explore the Mackinaw area
Very clean, comfortable, modern cabin about 50 feet from Lake Huron. Stunning sunsets over the Mackinaw Bridge. Great location between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan and the bike path (right across the street) will take you to both towns and beyond. Far enough removed from the touristy stuff closer to Mackinaw. The cabin has everything you need. (Don't need AC; there's almost always a cool breeze off the lake.) The only negative - no wifi and very poor cell reception. Couldn't do any research on places to go and things we wanted to do.

A perfect get away; clean, cozy, peaceful and incredible views.

Coming back next year!
Great Vacation at this exceptionally clean and cozy cabin. We love to bike so having access literally right across the street to miles and miles of trails made it a perfect spot for us. Right down the road our family had such a blast spending the day at the Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park where we hiked, rock climbed and so enjoyed the zip line. Another favorite of ours was the Headlands International Dark Sky Park only 15 minutes away...it made for a breathtaking and tranquil evening. It was so nice at the end of every day to know we had the comfort of our cozy cabin to return to where we could kick back, relax and reflect on our fun filled days. Highly recommend this perfect spot you won't be disappointed.

Charming & Cozy Cabin on the Straits of Mackinac
We had a fabulous time at this wonderfully appointed Log Cabin. Loved the screened in porch and upper deck where we chilled out watching Freighters on the Straits of Mackinac. It's location is perfect for so many fun day trips. Our favorite was the Day we spent on the world renowned Mackinac Island. The Ferry boat to the Island is only 10 minutes from the Cabin. Night times were so relaxing as we never saw such a breathtaking display of stars as we sat around the campfire. Even got to see the international space station overhead. We will definitely return and plan to let our friends and family know of this special place.

Fabulous Time @ this Charming Log Cabin on the Straits of Mackinac
What a relaxing stay at this wonderfully appointed Log Cabin. So close to lots of fabulous day trips yet away from the hustle & bustle of things. Just 10 minutes from the Ferry Boats to Mackinac Island a stunning place to spend the day. Nice to come back and chill out on either the Cabin's screened in porch or upper deck. Loved being right on the Straits of Mackinac while we watched in awe of freighters passing by, sitting around the campfire at night, and best of all the most stunning display of the evening stars. Tell all your Friends and Family this is somewhere they will for sure want to stay.

Great cottage with lots to offer.
This cottage is a great place for just 2 people to get away and kick back and relax or bring the kids along for a family vacation. If you are traveling with friends have them rent the other unit and you can all have a great time. The shared fire pit in the back yard is a great way to end your day with a beverage and relaxing around the fire to discuss the fun you had that day or to make plans for the next day. The cottage itself is very comfortable and homey. It lends itself to just kicking back and relaxing. Enjoy the views or get in the water to do some swimming. I definitely would love to come back again to enjoy all the area has to offer.
