This house is really gorgeous, the location is fantastic, very peaceful and convenient-- easy walk to small grocery, coffee stand, Burton Peninsula/Forest and to beach areas. It was immaculately clean and well set up. The home is very gracious and tasteful, yet not fussy. It was a real pleasure to be surrounded by so much beauty and nice things. Fresh flowers were a wonderful touch! And that porch! I could not get enough of that porch. The fire pit set up is also divine, but info on how/where to get wood would be helpful for visitors who don't have family or friends on the island to clue them in.
The kitchen is well-equipped and a pleasure to cook in (ground coffee and half and half greatly appreciated!), though there isn't much space to store any food except in the very nice fridge. There is a pantry area, but the shelves are full of displayed items.
Overall, storage and lighting were the drawbacks of this rental with almost no drawers or shelves (plentiful hanging options only), towel bars, bedside lamps (we are all avid bedtime readers and consider this essential) and some dark corners indoors.
Bedrooms and views are gorgeous. The king bed is unfortunately in the Lille Hus which was our least favorite aspect, though it was a very comfy bed. It is a well-appointed space, but a bit of a pain to go back and forth--and up and down as well. You really need to be aware that you will likely be leaving your stuff downstairs as there is a very steep stair to get to the loft. We used the table and sofa downstairs for our clothes and there is literally no place to set anything in the small bath.
Head's up for fragrance sensitive people (which we are not) that there were strongly scented products in the house--candle burning when we arrived, scented soaps, garbage bags and laundry detergent.
