We have added steps to our cleaning process to make sure you are protected from the spread of infection.

FOUR WINDS #3 is decorated in an "Under the Sea" motif. Located RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE OCEAN at Mile post 17.5 on the Beach Road at 8310 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd in lovely South Nags Head.

Our PRIVATE BOARDWALK guarantees you a place in the sand with no one are sitting on top of you.
These cottages are SENIOR FRIENDLY. They are all on one level, with no stairs to climb.
They are ideal for small families, including the four-legged members. There is even a fenced in yard!
Over the Winter we updated/remodeled this kitchen and we even added a dishwasher.

Inside, you’ll find the living room with comfortable furniture and a SMART TV with DVD player.
There are also SMART TVs in the bedrooms for private viewing and FREE WI-FI internet access.
The comfortable living room has leather furniture and a Coffee Table with Foosball in it!
A fully equipped kitchen including a Crockpot and Blender is all you need to keep your hungry family happy. Or you can enjoy the yard and barbeque on the charcoal grill. Eat on the picnic table for your enjoyment.
This home has a pleasant Screened In Porch so you can enjoy the Ocean breeze without those pesky bugs.

Not your turn yet for the shower? No problem. The outdoor shower has hot & cold water and is Enclosed for privacy.

The place is adorable. The property is just as described, very clean. Communication was wonderful. This location is great. It is quiet (it was of season) but close to all the things we wanted to see and do. The kitchen is well stocked, beds were comfortable.

Our introduction to Nags Head

The accomodations were quaint and conveniently located. The past few years we've stayed in Kill Devil Hills, but I believe we've decided that Nags Head suits us better. As we generally spend some time in Manteo and Hatteras, our place was nice and centralized. We also enjoyed the private beach access

NAGS HEAD ON THE OCEAN

All I can say is WONDERFUL place to stay. The wife and I had a GREAT time here. The place was clean the place was easy to get in and out and most of all was near to everything. We will be back again. Should you pick this place - have fun - we did.

We spent 5 days. The weather wasnt great but the cottage was great. My only complaint was the wifi was spotty. It wouldnt have been an issue if the weather had been better.

We enjoyed our stay overall! The personal backyard and location were highlights. The shower head was a little tough to angle to keep water from getting on the floor. Otherwise, it was a really good stay and we plan to use again if possible.

Adorable Cottages by the Sea

We were very impressed with how clean and bright the house was when we arrived! Walking distance to the beach, as promised! Communication with Management very pleasant, too! The cottage was well equipped with anything and everything one could need, loved that! I loved the sanitized sheets, the towels were like brand new and soft. The fenced in area for our dog was awesome! The furniture was great, in very good condition! The screened in porch was great! We will definitely vacation here again! ☺️

Four winds

Very well equipped and well maintained cottage. Just a short walk to the magnificent beach and convenient to all points of interest in Manteo and Nags Head. The staff do an excellent job of keeping their properties clean and everyone we dealt with was friendly and accommodating.

Christmas at Nags Head

We were very comfortable with our two dogs at Wind Swept #3 Cottage! Loved the fenced yard for the pups, and the very newly remodeled inside was lovely! The kitchen was well supplied, seems like a lot of things were brand new. Enough businesses were open for what we needed, LOVED Mulligans dog friendly restaurant, open on Christmas! Easy beach access via nearby public access. Great stay!

Cozy Little Cottage

Had a great time with my family. The bunk bed worked out great for my two kids. Not a big house but it definitely has a cozy feel. The appliances and cookware are an added bonus. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this place again.

Great Stay

Cottage was exactly as pictured. Very clean and neat. Towels and sheets were much higher quality than what I have gotten from the major beach rental companies. Also selected the option to rent a beach umbrella and chairs and they were very nice as well. Location is excellent- beach access is right across the street. Check in process is very easy. I highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning!

Great beach cottage

Our family of 4 stayed in cottage 3. It was the perfect size for a beach week and exactly as described. The office was very communicative and we got a call early on check in day that things were ready. Location was excellent. Kitchen was fully equipped. We had friends rent two of the other cottages and it was a great little ‘neighborhood’ for a group trip.

Cold beach

Immaculatly clean, very well supplied.kitchen, grill, baths and tv. A little mattress update would help. Wonderful management staff. Back yard entrance needs leveling. Wonderful porch & parking. Tip: use the public beach access. Private beach access is 3 feet deep in sand. But not needed at all. Public access is a few feet away with really nice bathrooms. showers, and golf cart path over the dune. Pet policies are fabulous. We will be back. We LOVED the house!!

Perfect little cottage for a quick beach getaway!

Property was exactly as listed, very clean, everything in perfect working order and stocked well with necessities. Check in/check out was a breeze. Bed was very comfy! Perfectly located and just a quick walk to the beach. I plan on returning next year!

Our Founder, Dr. Sarah Forbes passed away in 2011. She was a compassionate physician, dedicated to her patients becoming Norfolk General’s first female chief resident of OB/GYN.
In 1958, she became the first female physician to open a private OB/GYN practice in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Forbes was the first woman to be selected to the board, and the first female president, of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, where she was honored as a member of the “Wall of Fame” – the first and only woman to be so honored in the club’s 65-year history.

Sarah was often honored for her contributions to the organizations she served, and the community she loved.
Among her many awards were the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ Humanitarian Award in 2007, and the Medallion Award which is the highest recognition presented by The Boys and Girls Club of America to volunteers.

She served as president of several community organizations that include the Virginia Peninsula Academy of Medicine, the Newport News Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, and the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Her generosity benefited many organizations, including the Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Family Planning Council, First Baptist Church of Newport News, the Peninsula SPCA, Mariners’ Museum, Riverside Hospital, and Christopher Newport University.

We are continuing Dr. Forbes’ Legacy
All of our vacation homes are owned by Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust which continues her legacy by using our profits to make regular donations to the charities she loved.
We take care of the houses like she would have wanted.
