spring weekend away
A lovely cottage,we only stayed for three nights, but would be happy to stay for longer in the future. We settled in very quickly, as it felt very homely. The garage next door was wonderful, had a shop, fish and chip shop and a chinese takeaway, what more could you ask for. Having visited Burnham many times before, we had always stayed in the centre of the village.Staying a few minutes walk away was ideal, after eating at the Hoste or No29 you need a little walk !!!

Comfort and a few additions
Had a great stay, a few things could improve Diggers. A proper iroing board, some comfy loungers to sit out in the garden to enjoy the sunshine and a washing line.

Lovely cottage in a lovely village
The cottage was ideal for myself, my husband, daughter and 2 very young children. The garden was perfect and safe for them to play in, however as in previous reviews we found the noise from the road (front bedroom) quite disturbing at times. The cottage was well appointed and had all that we needed for our stay. The location was also good with a pleasant walk into the centre of Burnham Market.

2020’s holiday in 2021
The cottage was lovely, just felt in parts needed a freshen up. Disappointed no welcome pack and although advertised as dog friendly, nothing provided for dogs!

Lovely cottage, on the edge of town
We had a lovely stay at Digger's Rest recently. It's just on the edge of Burnham but in walking distance from the center of the village with all the lovely shops and coffee / tea rooms. The rooms are spacious and very modern, and well heated - it was quite cold in early May when we stayed there. One of the bedrooms faces the main road, so can get a bit noisy, but traffic is not too hectic in Burnham. Would definitely return!

6/10 Okay

Needs work...
We arrived at Diggers Rest on the 11th January to be met with Christmas decorations complete with tree and wreath on the front door, not exactly what we had hoped for on arrival to our break in Norfolk. We arrived and the house was absolutely freezing. There was a large bowl of water underneath the boiler cupboard with water constantly dripping from it. The heating and hot water had not been on for clearly days, and with a two year old and 3 month old we had to keep them in the car whilst we rang for the emergency plumber - it was actually warmer outside than it was in the cottage. I was absolutely devastated that the start of our holiday was so stressful. Coupled with lots of things being broken or not quite right I felt very upset. Norfolk hideaways clearly had not checked the house prior to our arrival, someone knew the boiler was broken and left it for us to fix the paying guests! I would not have been quite as upset if my parents hadn’t been staying in a much nicer better equipped cottage and they paid the same as us - we will not be using this company again.

A fabulous place to stat
We had a lovely few days at this delightful cottage, which was really comfortable and well positioned for the North Norfolk Coast. The cottage was well decorated and had everything needed for our stay. It had a lovely well cared for garden with a lawn, which so many cottages do not have, which was a bonus for our dog. We have visited this part of the world each year for many years and this was one of the best cottages we have stayed in. We’d definitely book this cottage again.

Holiday In Norfolk
Recently stayed in Diggers Rest. Took a while to finally get into the rear of the Property. Worth noting that as you turn into Back Lane go through the first archway on the left. Great location, lovely House with clean bedding, quality utilities and comfy beds. Just a few things that could be improved upon. The bath seal needs fixing otherwise water can leak out slightly in main bathroom. The Fennel Plants outside the window need trimming as they attract bugs, earwigs and ants into the Lounge. The Alleyway needs cutting back as it is a little overgrown. The House itself was wonderful although it might be worth having a cut off switch to turn the times heating off, as it is quite a warm house in Summer and hot periods. The only other issue was the French Door keys were missing , so we could not open them and it was one of the hottest weeks. Other than a few issues great find and would stay again in this lovely property.

Rest at Diggers Rest
Our stay did not get off to a good start as directions were a little confusing, but we got there in the end. The cottage is very well presented and is in an excellent location as we could walk into Burnham Market within a couple of minutes and not have to worry about parking in the very busy town. Except for a few minor niggles we had a great stay

It was ok...
It really was ok... not great, but not bad! Comfy if not glamorous... provided necessities for a week on the Norfolk beaches and checking out the local areas - location was fabulous. Property was ok. Kitchen was smaller than anticipated and not suitable for hosting meals for 4 people (unless extremely snugly), remnants of painting/decorating on kitchen worktops/floors etc also let it down. We had problems with no keys being available to open doors from living room into garden and also of having no external rubbish bins... neither was resolved whilst we were staying at the property however after various phone calls resolutions of a sort were provided. Tv reception wasn’t great (and tv was small) - however not what people go on holiday for! Bed comfy. Showers great. Water - awful... buy bottled for drinking!
