Had a lovely long weekend with family. Tetford is a lovely village with lots of beautiful walks for dogs and their human servants. Cottage is very clean and cosy with the log burner. Will book again.
There was no ample wardrobes to hang the clothes. Not happy. My daughter had to live out of her suitcase
Please buy wardrobes

Enjoyed the area
The overall house was good apart from the lounge seating, well past it’s sell by date, we resorted in grabbing and stacking seating off other sofas so we were sort of okay. No area for dogs but dogs welcomed.
We had 4 adults and one teenager and found there was sufficient space and facilities. Especially appreciated heating and logs for the fire. Cosy well-equipped cottage. lovely village, plenty of walks. Shops within short driving distance. Host very welcoming and easy to contact.

Location Excellent but Cottage not clean
Cottage was dirty when we arrived. We had to hoover throughout due to Dog hair. Cobwebs everywhere. Had to clean Fridge, Kitchen sink was dirty and so was Oven. Hair in the Bathroom plug holes, Marks on Towels. Sofa needs cleaning as stinks and not comfortable had back backs before we left. The Cottahe needs updating throughout.
Me, my husband and our dog stayed at Rose Cottage and what a relaxing 4 nights it was!
The village of Tetford is beautiful and everyone is very friendly.
The house was very clean and had everything you needed.
I have seen from previous reviews about the internet which must of been addressed as the internet was flawless.
The only issue we found was the sofa was very uncomfortable which affected my back and also there was no back garden which confused our dog, there is a small area at the front of the property but this is not enclosed.
The village location is lovely. Property is roomy and has great facilities. The only drawback is the lack of a back garden. The owner was very helpful when we had questions.

Nice location
The house was generally clean but the bathroom needs updating, the sitting room needs a new sofa and airing as it felt very stuffy in there and didn’t smell great.
It does not mention that the house backs on to the farm and that people starting work at 7am like having a chat and a cigarette by the house the smell of smoke in the bedrooms is not great and having sleep disturbed is even more annoying..
There should also be a warning that when they come to do whatever it is they do to the septic tank that it smell’s horrendous and lingered in the house for the next few days.
It’s a lovely house in nice quiet village but the points above let it down.
There is also no privacy at the back or garden.
Perfect for what we wanted. Plenty of room and half hour from Skegness. Good broadband and smart tv. Kitchen had everything we needed. Really enjoyed our stay. Nearest shop and pub approx 10 min drive.
We walked for miles in the fields nearby and saw no-one. Just bird song and lush countryside. Two pubs nearby. Half mile and 3 miles away. Easy to walk to and cut across public footpaths in the fields. There's no back garden as such, but a but of green at the front. We were fine though as we brought a couple of chairs and managed to sit in the sun. Tesco delivers here which is ideal. Only a couple of points to note...the hot water was set too hot, the sofa was uncomfortable (we all got a bit of back ache) and a clothes airer in the utility room would have been really useful. However, we all had a fab stay. The place was clean and in a super village.
Bought eggs from nearby farms for breakfast. Would definitely stay again as we loved the area and the cottage was well equipped. Thank you 👍
A lovely pretty and clean property. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. Perhaps the only thing to bear in mind if booking is that the property doesn’t have a back garden and is linked to a retreat complex.
Really enjoyable and easy stay in Rose cottage. The host Stevie was very responsive, accommodating and friendly.
The house was spacious and tidy, perfect for 7 adults for a weekend . We went to visit the seals at Donna Nook and for a walk along the beach at Mablethorpe, all within easy driving distance of the cottage.
This cosy cottage suited us perfectly for a short break. Equipped with everything you need to make a home from home. Will definitely be back!😊

other relatives to visit who lived locally
The property worked well for us and we had good communication with the owner, sorting out details for seating eight people etc. The cottage provided good space for four adults , two children and two dogs. There was enough crockery and cutlery for the eight of us for Christmas dinner. The Christmas tree and decorations were much appreciated.
We have owned and run a holiday cottage for some years in Norfolk and have some comments on Rose cottage intended to be helpful.
The house was very clean but the score is reduced because there was a lot of clutter in some drawers and cupboards. This included some items of unwashed clothing in the kitchen cupboard.
The wifi signal was unreliable as the router is not in the cottage. The owner did all she could to rectify the problem but the signal was inadequate in some rooms. We would suggest that a router in the cottage is essential. Even our nine year old grandson could not access his games as he would have liked.
Given that the cottage is designed to accommodate up to seven people we would suggest a dishwasher is an essential.
A radio would have been appreciated. An OS map of the locality would be useful. We did not need it but information about walks, local restaurants, pubs, cinemas etc is always helpful.
Rose Cottage was perfect for our much needed time away. Stevie was very professional and when we needed some advice was v helpful. The cottage was warm and exceptionally well equipped. We loved exploring the Wolds and revisiting some places from many many years ago. The tip to visit
Donna Nook gave us a wonderful, albeit very cold!, opportunity to see tiny seal pups and mums....and buy brilliant veg straight from the fields.

About the host
Hosted by Stevie Hall
I have lived in the Lincolnshire Wolds for around a year now and have loved every minute! The Wolds are a wonderfully unspoiled landscape, perfect for holiday makers. I work in Tetford for a holistic therapy company called Aura-Soma. One of my favourite parts of my job is managing our holiday lets such as Rose Cottage and Shire Farm Yurt Village.
Why they chose this property
Rose Cottage is a spacious detached property with a lot of character and charm. The village of Tetford is incredibly picturesque with amazing walks, and is in close proximity to the historic towns of Louth and Horncastle. Rose Cottage's layout really lends itself to families as it has an upstairs and downstairs bathroom, 3 generous bedrooms and a large living room.
