Beautiful getaway
This was a perfect location for a family trip with teenagers. The lake, the pool, billiards, a fantastic view, and so many activities and good restaurants in the area. We wouldn't hesitate to consider for another visit!

Fourth of July getaway
We absolutely enjoyed our time at the house. The pool was the highlight of our day, and we made use of it all day long. The house's proximity to the lake was fantastic and very convenient for the family. However, the sliding door needs some attention, and it would be great to have a washer and dryer.

Comfortable and Fun
The house was well stocked, clean, and comfortable - we had fun outdoors and inside on poor weather days. The location was great and offered ample hiking, lake activities and easy access to Plattsburgh. Our host offered a wonderful guide of local attractions and activities. The farmers market on Thursday was a nice way to experience local artists. We spent plenty of time swimming and hanging outside with ample and comfortable outdoor seating and at the lake on the two kayaks, paddle board, and dock. This is the perfect home and location for a family getaway.

Great relaxation getaway!
Loved this place and would definitely come back! Glenn was super helpful with with tips for shopping and activities, and Chuck the location manager was on call to help out in real time. The location is even better in person than the pictures, and we loved our time there.

Caron Hideaway Trip
Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Caron Hideaway! The house was exactly as advertised, can you cannot beat the patio/pool/view! We did another High Peak during our stay, and the location helped us make it an easy day, with a nice relaxing day afterwards. Glen was very helpful, and even accommodated us a day early as our plans changed, which is great! Thank you again for a relaxing family vacation.

It’s all about the view and water sports. Such a great location for sitting on the beach and looking at the mountains. Great fishing, kayaking, and swimming. Spent most of our time on the large deck and dunking in the pool. We even enjoyed some pool matches. Thanks for a great vacation.

Quiet getaway
We decided on a last-minute getaway since we couldn't visit family down south. Being a bit off-season we weren't able to fully enjoy the pool and beach as we would have liked, but the pool table and fireplace made up for that. The location is wonderfully peaceful and we hope to return one day earlier in the season. Pups LOVED the big yard to play in.

Excellent location
We spent 5 days at this property and had a wonderful time. The outside amenities and location make this place a gem. Willsboro Bay is calm and private. The private beach was huge and offered many toys to play in the water with. The pool & deck offered the perfect reprieve when the sun became too much for the lake. Three generations enjoyed this home. It offers something for everyone and plenty of space.

Ten Stars
This is such a wonderful place and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We stayed there as a family with our dog and there's more than enough space for everyone even on the rainy days. The lake is beautiful and the private beach is wonderful. This was our second time renting and we look forward to our third next summer. Thank you Glen and Chuck.

Such a lovely spot to vacation!
Amazing views, so peaceful and lovely... The pool was so much fun for my kids, and the private lake access was amazing! We made great use of the kayaks and other water crafts provided... so much fun! We stayed almost 2 weeks and could have stayed longer for sure. A really cute house to stay in with our kids, and there was even a pool table :) Lots to do at the house and in the area. Would definitely come back. Can't wait!

Beautiful yard!
We stayed for a week at Caron Hideaway and my family had a great time. The lake was beautiful, the yard is big and the deck was perfect for hanging out and swimming. Inside is accurate to the description/pictures. My young kids loved a chest there full of toys in the area we subbed the play room and we had lots of fun finding insects to catch and observe outside (and some frogs!). Communication was easy and the handyman was very nice but luckily we didn't need him much.

Great stay
We loved our stay here. The house was clean on arrival and it was easy to get in. The owner and the local caretaker were very accessible if needed. We loved the pool and especially the included very easy lake access: there are 2 kayaks and a standup paddleboard you can use, and the lake is also great for swimming, as the pool is like 4 feet deep or so, so great for cooling down and fun but not for swimming. The location of this property is great as well for side trips in the Adirondacks (Lake Placid is 1 hour away), and to Montreal (1 hour 40 minutes, depending on how busy it is at the border checkpoint). The furniture and appliances in the house are old(er) but everything works fine and is clean, including the 2 bathrooms. The house also has modern airco in all rooms which was great on hotter days. The one minus point is that the single and double beds are short (like just over 6 feet), and the 2 person beds are double beds and not like queen beds. For tall people like us the double beds were quite narrow for 2 people and not so comfortable for us. Please take this into account when you rent this property. But otherwise we had a great stay, and we would come here again if we are traveling with family in this area.

CARON' S HIDE-AWAY
We spent a very enjoyable and relaxing week at Caron' s hide-away. The rustic four bedroom lakefront house is located on ten landscaped acres with an Olympic size above-ground pool. There are kayaks and paddle boats to use on Lake Champlain. The area is very historic, and there are some excellent restaurants. I would suggest visiting Fort Ticonderoga and the Wind Chill Dairy in Ticonderoga for the best ever homemade ice cream. Chuck the caretakerr is extremely helpful and friendly.

Family Vacation 2021
Caron Hideaway was the perfect size for our family with 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. There were 6 adults with 2 small dogs. We all enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks, yes the pups were right in the paddle boards with us. Amazing view ALL day and night. Enjoyed the firplace and making smores. We cooked everynight and used the grill too. Went to bed everynight exhausted. Thank you!!

Great place for a family vacation
We booked the Caron Hideaway for a family vacation. The house is old and dated, but has everything you need and worked great for us. The house is in a great location, close enough to town to access things, yet far enough away to find peace. The views of Willsboro Bay are beautiful. Unfortunately for us, the beach was flooded so we didn't play in the lake, but there is nothing the owner could do about that. We did have the pool, which was great. The handyman on property (Chuck) is very friendly and helpful. The owner (Glenn) was excellent with communication and provided many suggestions on things to do. Definitely go hike the Rattlesnake Mountain Trail - stunning views at the top! Also suggest going to Ausable Chasm. We ate at the Willsboro Diner and recommend it. Would NOT recommend eating at Indian Bay Marina. Overall, we had a great trip and would recommend the property to other families planning a trip to the area.

A wonderful Hideaway!
We just spent 10 wonderfully relaxing days at Caron Hideaway! The property was just as described, a super charming, rustic Adrirondack home with breathtaking views!! My family and I were thrilled with the location and set up of the house, which was spacious and welcoming! We spent many a happy day playing at the pool table- on the rainy days we were thankful for the smart TV, where we could binge our favorite shows, and best of all, the awesome deck and swimming pool! So many wonderful memories made! The view of the bay was stunning whatever the weather, and having access to the private beach and water toys was awesome! We loved exploring the bay on the water bee and kayaks! Glenn was such a great host and made sure to check in with us regularly! Even though we didn’t need any assistance, it was lovely knowing Chuck, the sweet maintenance guy who lives on the grounds, was nearby! The wonderful peace, views and privacy of the house and grounds is an absolute winner! We definitely recommend staying here and would happily return! Thank you Glenn for a fantastic family getaway! 🥰

We had a nice time
My family and I (a group of 9) really enjoyed our stay at the Caron Hideaway overall. We especially loved and appreciated all of the outdoor spaces like the pool, deck, and having direct access to the lake. The pool was great for the kids and everyone made good use of the kayaks and paddle boats. The grounds are beautiful and the view of the lake and Adirondacks is pristine. Chuck (Glenn's handyman who also lives in another home on the property) was also incredibly helpful and friendly and shared great insights about the area and the lake. We enjoyed chatting with him. The house is as pictured - old, rustic, and spacious enough for our group. Since we were a group of 9, the temperature of the house was very warm, even with the fans and windows open (often 80 degrees plus). It would have been nice to have access to portable AC units in the bedrooms or at least in the living room area. Other than that, access to a dishwasher and washer/drier unit would have been helpful for our large group as well. Glenn is also communicative and informative throughout the booking/trip experience. For the price, the area, and the excellent outdoor space, it was a good fit for our group for the week.

Great lakeside location with an old house to stay in
We enjoyed our last minute family vacation at this property. It had amazing views of the mountains and great access to the lake. Like others mentioned, the lake was flooded during our stay so we didn’t get to enjoy the beach as expected but that wasn’t the owners fault. We were still able to fish on the little area available and launch the kayaks and the one paddle board. The listing needs updated as there’s only 2 kayaks and 1 paddle board available. It made us a little uncomfortable getting the kayaks and board out of the abandoned, decrepid building by the lake. There’s really no beach area so much as a launch point for a kayak. The house met our needs for our trip, but it is very old. Bottom line, you must rent this property for the lake access, not the house. The location was incredible. The pool was nice and clean as well. We did appreciate that the house was stocked with essential items like hand soap, trash bags, toilet paper, etc that you don’t always receive with a VRBO. The communication with the owner, Glenn, was great. He provided a lot of information and suggestions before and during our trip. Would rent there again for the right price. Future renters please note there was no Verizon cell service on the property. We had to rely on the WiFi. We had to get our Google map all set up with directions while in the house’s wifi before getting in the car.

Unfortunately disappointed
I wish my review could be as wonderful as the previous ones. This is my first negative review I’ve ever had to leave all in my years vacationing but didn’t want someone else’s expectations to be something more or another family’s vacation ruined, I’m not a picky person but some things just can’t be overlook especially with the amount of money you spend plus more for the extra people. I wish I took more pictures or could post some because I feel that pictures are worth 1000 words. After driving over 5 hours and arriving after the 4pm check-in we found the house was not as pictured on VRBO. The inside was as described “rustic” but we were mostly there for the deck/pool/lake. First off, the toilet seat wasn’t even attached to the toilet and could not have been easily fixed. It would need a new seat to fit correctly. This could cause a safety issue especially with the younger children we had with us. The deck and pool were not as pictured. There was no canopy set up or nice lounge chairs to sit comfortably by the pool nor where the table and chairs with the umbrella that were shown in the pictures. The pool was dirty. I wouldn’t let my kids swim in that. I understand Mother Nature perhaps delaying the cleaning but by 4pm you expect everything should be ready for the next guests. We did meet Chuck, the maintenance guy (seemed nice) who lives on property but does not have a vehicle had he needed to replace or get something from the hardware store to fix an issue in the house. He also works at the marina full time and said he’d be over the next night after work to do maintenance which is unacceptable to lose a day of swimming in the pool. Not to mention while on vacation to relax and getaway you don’t want someone around the house doing work around the place. We were given 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel & 1 facecloth (all look to be 15 years old and dingy looking) for the week for showering off the lake/pool with no washer/dryer so we’d have to travel 25 mins to nearest laundry mat, again not something you want to be doing on vacation. There was also hoses leading out the bulkhead door to the basement to pump out what I assume was water from maybe flooding, to the side of the house. With the hose going out through the bulkhead that meant the home was not secure, anyone at any time could come through the bulkhead and up through kitchen door that did not have a lock on it. The grounds were not maintained and so over grown that part of the bushes next to the
