This property sleeps 6 with three spacious bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. The whole interior has been renovated to a very high standard and features 3 bathrooms.

The accommodation is set near Crail in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife, with stunning views of the sea and Crail Golf Course and is a superb base for golfers, walkers or a family holiday.

The historic University town of St Andrews is just 20 minutes drive away and offers a variety of shops and restaurants, museums and cinema, not to mention the most famous St Andrews Links Golf Course. Other golf courses include Crail, Kingsbarns, Anstruther and Elie.

Ground floor:
Downstairs the living room has period features and a wood burning stove. There are 2 sofas, one of which is a sofa bed. TV, DVD and WI-FI available. The fully fitted kitchen with underfloor heating has a farmhouse feel with range cooker and Belfast sink. It also contains a dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and walk-in cupboard under the stairs. The hall has a downstairs shower room including WC.

Upper floor:
The upstairs accommodation offers 3 spacious bedrooms that look out over fields and the sea. One is ensuite and there is a family bathroom. Each bedroom has a super king-size bed to create a double room, or the bed can be split to create a twin room.

Wonderful stay at Balcomie

We had a fantastic week at Balcomie, the house and grounds are just fabulous, the location is perfect, especially for golfers, and Carly and her family made us very welcome. We hope to come back again soon.

Comfortable, Convenient, Historic

I am a repeat visitor which should speak volumes for how I feel about Balcomie Farmhouse. Carly has done a great job of making the home as comfortable as possible, and the fact that there are three bedrooms and three full baths means that up to three couples (or a good-sized family) can enjoy their privacy but still have a fully functioning kitchen and large cushy living room to dine and converse. The proximity to two of the best classic golf courses in Scotland can't be beat; you don't even need a car to walk to clubhouse and golf course (just 12 minutes). The views of farmland in the front of the house and farmland and the North Sea to the rear are postcard perfect. Wildlife abounds; I've seen deer, pheasant, rabbits and the farmhouse chickens from the farmhouse windows. All in all, I will be back again...and again, I hope.

Excellent Spot

We stayed at Balcomie for a week the first week of May. The accommodations were spotless, the kitchen exceptionally equipped, the beds were comfortable and the grounds Beautiful We had a pair of pheasant to observe everyday. There are golf courses nearby: Balcomie, Kings Barns, Castle Course , Anstruther. Plus a short drive to all the St Andrews courses. Hiking along the Fife Coastal Path is lovely and just a few steps away. The village of Crail is worth a day of strolling around. We will definitely return.

Countryside Beauty - Great Host

The views are amazing, we arrived around 9:30 in the evening and could see a bit of what we were going to see in the morning but nothing prepared us for how tranquil, beautiful and peaceful this home is. We were greeted by the natural wildlife of the area and the beauty of the North Sea all in the background of Crail. The house had everything we needed and the host was so welcoming and helpful with all our needs. The home has been renovated with all the modern needs. We spoked from there to Edinburgh, Lock Ness & Isle of Skye, and while those drives were long, it was worth it to stay in this beautiful home. Thank you for having us, we will return in the years to come!

East Neuk getaway

One of the finest properties that we have had the privilege of access to. Carli and her family could not have been lovelier. Everything was thought of and anticipated for our stay. The linens were lovely and fresh, the beds exceptionally comfortable, the property was immaculately maintained and sparkling clean. A special shout out to Carli's Mum who was also so lovely. Cannot say enough about how we loved our time there.

Spacious house

Inviting and cozy

We arrived late on a rainy, cold evening after the airline lost our luggage. This home was a perfect welcome. We instantly felt at home. Clean, updated, well stocked….the heated tile! The host was exceptional and made our stay most enjoyable. The beds were comfortable and we are still talking about the delicious lemon bars. The location of the home was perfect for exploring Scotland. It was a short drive to visit our daughter at St Andrew’s and we spent each night enjoying time together either around the cozy kitchen table or in front of the fireplace in the living room. I can’t say enough about the beautiful property. It was such a peaceful stay. We always felt well taken care of. This is truly a gem and would make any holiday more magical. Thank you for opening your home to us. Scotland is so beautiful and your home was the ideal place to reconnect as a family and make memories to last a lifetime.

As Perfect as Ever

This was our fourth stay at Balcomie, and everything was just as wonderful as ever. Helpful hosts, stunning location, well-stocked kitchen, fantastic wood-burner, and so peaceful and spotlessly clean. Proximity to the Coastal Path, Cambo Gardens and Crail, as well as other nearby sites and towns such as St Andrews and Anstruther, makes it a perfect location for a variety of outings. An absolutely lovely property!

Balmorrie Farm House

We loved staying at this beautiful farmhouse connected to a former castle. It was a lovely house with everything you could possibly need. The owner was extremely helpful! We even had delicious lemon cake and fresh strawberries left for us to enjoy.

Wonderful stay

Super clean, comfortable and well equipped property. Carly and her mum were especially kind and welcoming and we were spoilt with cakes and some of their farm produce. Such a peaceful location too with just birdsong to wake you. Would highly recommend

As Comfortable a Stay as it Could be

Clean, comfortable, modern where it had to be (e.g. kitchen, baths) but loaded with vintage atmosphere elsewhere. The grounds were spectacular, and the proximity to 36 holes of seaside golf and a stunning beach path were a magnet. My golf partner was out at 5:30 a.m. every morning for a two-hour walk, and I joined him later for a walk to the clubhouse -- about two miles roundtrip from the Farmhouse -- and a coffee and scone. We hooked up with the local Big Yellow Taxi Company for rides to dinner and a one-day tour of the Kingdom of Fife. Great service, fair prices and congenial driver, James. The Village of Crail is picture postcard perfect with ample provisions at the Coop in town and a lobster stand in the harbor. I am a bit afraid to praise the Balcomie Farmhouse too much lest I have trouble booking the week(s) I want in the future, but I will take my chances. Just a terrific stay.

Wonderful stay!

We had a fabulous holiday at Balcomie Farm Castle. Carly and her mum were wonderful hosts and the lemon drizzle was delicious. Our kids loved the books and toys and we all enjoyed the cosy fire place and the bright rooms. Enchanting place with an amazing history. Great location for exploring Fife. We will be back!

Spacious and comfortable

This was the third time in the past year my husband and I have stayed at Balcomie, and everything was as wonderful as always. It was spotlessly clean, Carly was great at communicating with us, and we enjoyed her mother's wonderful lemon drizzle cake again! We had friends visit us during our stay this time, and found that even with five adults there was more than enough space for comfort, as well as an incredible kitchen with plenty of dishware and cooking pans/utensils. It is easily the best stocked kitchen of any rental property we have visited. We love how peaceful and beautiful the location is, and how close it is to Crail. It's a really lovely, well cared for property that we would highly recommend!
