Pretty area.

This is a nice cabin that is stocked well with dishes and start up necessities. Very private as well. The internet is spotty at best even with the Wi-Fi network but hey you did come here to get away right?

Wonderful weekend getaway

We spent the weekend for our anniversary/Valentine’s Day and really enjoyed it! Easy to find and so thankful all the little things were ready like toilet paper and coffee filters and salt and pepper. The hot tub was amazing. We visited some wineries and a brew house and grilled out for dinner. The cabin next door was a little closer than I thought but we still felt private. Very clean and cozy! We would definitely stay again!

Romantic Getaway

We had a lovely weekend at this cabin! The place was clean, comfortable, and secluded enough that we felt like we were in relaxing wilderness. Loved the fireplace and the full kitchen, the hot tub was definitely a highlight of the trip! The cabin itself is pretty easy to get to and is a short walk to the Shenandoah River with lots of opportunities to fish, canoe/kayak, and swim. We mostly stayed in the cabin but Shenandoah National Park is very close by with lots of good hiking. The owners of the cabin were pleasant and left very clear instructions for check in/check out. Would definitely stay here again!

Relaxation

We had a lovely and relaxing time at the Reel It In Cabin with my boyfriend and dog. I loved sitting outside in the hot tub in the morning with the sun shining through the trees, listening to the birds. We grilled dinner on the charcoal grill and ended out nights outside around the fire. My dog also really enjoyed the stay and was very relaxed. There was a mix-up with the description of the property being their other Stepping Ttone property, but the owner is working to resolve it. Highly recommend doing doing the kayak day trip with Shenandoah River Outfitters from stops 13-19!

Mixed emotions

I didn’t love this place or terribly hate it. Pros: hot tub, fire pit, and ease of checking in. The property was nice but very sparse. Check in email didn’t remind us to bring our own sheets and towels. Cons: the place had roaches. Yuck. Everytime you opened a cabinet you would see a couple. The neighbors were loud and partied a lot. But not late at night. If the bug problem was fixed I would probably stay again. Just not as a romantic getaway.

So much to do!

We loved our one week stay at the cabin! The location of the cabin is perfect for those who love nature and want to be away from the city hassle. There is so much to do! River is absolutely gorgeous and nature is incredibly beautiful. River is fairly close, walk will take like 5min. My phone service didn’t work at the cabin but when you drive away for like 2-3 miles - it comes back-maybe just my cell phone service. The internet is OK, you probably won’t use it much anyway- as there is so much to do! Aside from enjoying the river and outdoor cooking we enjoyed activities in Luray. There are few things that made our stay in the cabin a little uncomfortable though: - Beds were squeaky and the cabin is pretty loud. Everything you do in the cabin can be heard in bedrooms. We were traveling with our infant daughter and it was a little difficult at times to keep things quiet when she needed to take a nap. - There was whole bunch of wasps flying around the hot tub. My husband got bitten by one and we also found a wasp nest on the top of the roof right above the entrance door. Overall, we had great experience and a lot of pleasant memories and would love to come back! Thank you!

Quiet and secluded

As I was driving up the road I was getting nervous that this place would be right next to their neighbors like all the other cabins I was seeing on the way, and I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised with how secluded and quiet this cabin is located. The only cabin you can see is behind some trees and far enough away you can’t hear them. Hot tubs great, surprisingly good heat/cooling system for a cabin, only minor thing is the fridge and the house electrical has a noticeable humming noise , and the internet is very spotty, but I was outside most the time anyway it didn’t bother me much. Great place, will definitely be coming back.

Great getaway

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was beautiful, cozy, and very clean. We played in the river, made s'mores by the fire, and relaxed in the hot tub. I would have given 5 stars if the bed in the room on the left wasn't so noisy, it creaked and groaned every time I moved so I had a very hard time going to sleep. I slept on the futon in the loft the second night, which was much better.

Great escape!

We had a great few days at the cabin. It was simple, but had all of the kitchen utensils and supplies you would need. My kids enjoyed sitting and playing in the loft. As another reviewer mentioned, the walls are pretty thin, but that didn't bother us. The location was great -- you felt like you were really out there. I noticed two wads of dog fur when we came in, which bothered me because I'm slightly allergic to dogs, but other than that, it felt clean. I had brought my own cleaning supplies because of COVID, but didn't end up using them because everything seemed clean. The water was a bit cloudy, but we used out own bottled water for drinking and cooking., which we do at our own home anyway. The hot tub was clean and a nice way to relax after a long day of walking. For being out in the middle of nowhere, I was happy that there weren't any bugs inside the cabin! The walk down the the river was nice. There is a large grassy space to run around and play on and a ladder that will let you go down into a secluded, gentle stream-like area off of the main river. We really enjoyed our stay and my kids are talking about how they want to go back. Thank you!

Week GEtaway

Property was as described and nice and quiet. Had plenty of land for the dog to roam without issue and hot tub and fire was great. Place itself was really clean. The noise did travel throughout the house and the internet was good for browsing but not for video calls or doing work. Bring towels. Drive in was on loose gravel and place was close to river. All in all a great place to be isolated and enjoy the nature in a comfortable house.

Great stay and well appointmentef cabin

We had s great escape from the city st the reel it in cabin. Was clear and well appointed just like the pictures but the location was even more beautiful than expected. Just okay

Checkin time was 4, we asked if we could checkin earlier but didn’t hear from owner until 1230, with a long distance drive it didn’t leave us with any earlier checkin. Owner expressed she didn’t get email request until that day but I sent it to her days earlier. Arrived to a very isolated area, we thought we would be much closer to river access. Dust bunnies in corners and around bed frame, had to vacuum ourselves. Not sure why we had a cleaning fee. Had to take our own trash down the road to dumpsters a couple miles away. Beds were very uncomfortable and squeaky. Tub and kitchen sink wouldn’t drain. Tried to unclog myself but didn’t work. Tub would fill up while showering. Cabin is very loud. Can hear everything in room next door. We left a day early due to being uncomfortable. Would not stay here again.

Great spot!

Love this cabin, we had a great time. It’s very private. The walk to the riverfront access was very easy and close. The kids loved it (ages 6 and 8). They also loved the hot tub and loft area inside - which is bigger than the pics make it seem. Well stocked and super clean. Overall great experience. We will definitely book this one again!
