About this property
Podere di Belforte Apartment Nina
The Rural House or "Colonica" of Podere di Belforte has ancient origins. Its roots are themselves the history of the hills of Villamagna, a site where it was built in the Middle Ages. The first attestations date back to 1200. The architectural structure, the various stone-cracks and the wooden architraves in the walls - exposed to view after the restoration clarify their use as an Observation Tower. In the 1700s, with its first renovation, the structure was transformed into one of the residences of the Conti Degli Alessandri (a transformation that is still evident today in some parts of the external wall covered with bas-relief flowers, obtained during the plaster processing phase ). Only later, in 1800, it was transformed into a real farm called "Il Poggio di Villamagna". Near the house there is also a niche or "Mistadello" with a terracotta Madonna inside, near which, at the end of the traditional procession, the locals met to live and pay homage.
In 2010 Paolo and Traudi Minelli started the first renovations that then turned into real restoration given their commitment to not change but rediscover and dust off what has always been wonderful. Today Martin and Manuel Minelli are committed to preserving this heritage of traditions. It is also said that in Villamagna there were three miracles: the first were the cherries of San Donnino the Romanesque Church in stone of 1062 with inside the canvas depicting the Madonna with the Child, San Donnino and San Gherardo by Francesco Granacci. The second miracle was the olive tree of the Podere di Belforte which made from only 6 barrels of olive oil and to take the olives three women took 2 and a half days. the third miracle ... I'll tell you if you come to visit us !!
Bagno a Ripoli is located east of Florence on flat land for about a third of its surface and for the remaining part on hilly terrain. On one side it occupies the area of the Upper Valdarno while on the other a part of the Chianti and remains attached to Florence
