Very cluttered/bad location

The driveway needs major work. Every room was clutter and stuffy. Every bed had one side against a wall so the person on the inside had to crawl over the person on the outside to go to the bathroom. The front room had no room to sit and relax due to all the chairs in the way. There was no internet service nor was there any tv to watch local news. There were two cats and two chickens on property that we fed. The owner asked if we would feed them or they would come feed them everyday. The owner of the property came into the house while we were gone to get the food and feed the animals. That is NOT cool to do. There were bugs inside the refrigerator. The coffee pot was filthy and the grounds holder plunger broken. There was an odor inside the house like there were pets inside. There was a stack of twin size mattresses in the entrance of the house beside the entertainment center. The flooring was coming apart in the dinning room. The pictures online showed a nice covered area out back, but the screen was torn on top. We could not open the back door to go outside, the hinges were taped up. The dinning room chairs were catching our shirts and scratching our backs. All the furniture was out dates and not comfortable. The only good things about this property is the parking area is shaded, the water pressure is great, and the A/C worked fantastic. I would not recommend this property for anyone, especially if they drive a car. If I drive my car, I would have lost my front bumper.

About the host

Host profile image
I am a professional, patron of the arts in 3 states and volunteer in the community and mother of two amazing kids. I moved to the Emerald Coast after a vacation. I fell in love with the white sandy beaches and horse filled pastures. I am an avid world traveler, student of cultures and language and love to read. I have been to the Orient, Europe, the Caribbean, South America and all over the US. My son attended Julliard & dances with national ballet companies. My daughter, a UF grad with 3 degrees, was dance team captain and has performed in Europe twice and teaches autistic kids. There's traces of dance throughout the home. Here find a calming retreat and adventure with many different options for fun and exploration without having to pull out a credit card every few hours. After a day, out and about, travelers continue the experience with a wonderful evening at the home. Time away from our hectic schedules should be amazing and never cost prohibitive. Welcome to tranquility and adventure!

Why they chose this property

This property is amidst nature and on a main road. $32,000 recently invested on upgrades, bathrooms, ceiling fans, comforts and amenities. Home, plumbing, roof inspections done in May '22 and septic drained. Industrial water heater allows for 10 showers in a row. Commercial grade internet. UV room sanitizer, remote and cell phone sanitizer and air filter provided. Centrally located to several major highways, close to nature and a short drive to some of the most amazing beaches. Destin's beaches will take your breath away and the starry nights at the Retreat by the blazing fire pits or candle lit dinner in the gazebo is what memories are made of.

What makes this property unique

Benefits include being able to be outdoor without having mosquitoes to worry about because of screen enclosure and the land is fumigated. Plus spending time doing so many different activities all in the same place is a bonus. A fully stocked kitchen makes preparing full course meals fun. A good night's sleep sets the tone for everything. Pillow top mattresses, plush weighted throws and a quiet home make for a great night. Feel free to move waterfall vases into bedrooms if noise reduction is desired.
