Comfortable with a couple oddities
My family (8 adults and 3 children) and I rented Danny's home over this past Christmas for four nights. Overall, it was a good experience. The house was a good size for our group, it was clean and on a pleasant street. If anything, I would say the pictures don't really show off the size well enough. The front door opens to the stairway going upstairs. From there the kitchen is straight back, the formal dinning room to the right and the formal living room to the left. Both other these rooms lead back into the kitchen and casual living room, respectively. It has a very open, spacious feel with all of the rooms being connected by large entry ways. This was great for the large group that we had, especially around a holiday as other family came over to visit and the house filled up. The basement was not very nice, unfortunately. A lot of old furniture kind of stuffed in corners. The kids didn't really like being down there either and it kind of smelled. Apparently, they are planning to remodel it, so hopefully there will be pictures up of that soon. There are 2 full baths and 2 half baths. One full bath is in the master bedroom and not really sharable. So, if your group is as big as mine, you might find 6 people sharing one bathroom slightly challenging. The family seems to live in the house normally so the kitchen is stocked with many kitchen items, although fairly low quality if you have anyone in your group trying to cook a large meal. The garbage disposal on the sink was especially bad in that you had to pull a chord from under the sink and plug it into a wall outlet. Beyond being inconvenient, it seemed a little dangerous, to be honest.
The owners met the first family member to arrive to give a tour and offered a mimosa and some appetizers. In general, the owner was friendly and helpful. We felt slightly pressured by the owner who was, understandably, concerned about renters messing up his home. But, beyond the pressure, nothing bad came of this.
Despite some of the issue I mentioned, I would recommend the rental as a good place for a family to gather from out of town.

our stay was perfect. The home, neighbors, neighborhood and the homeowners were welcoming!
Every aspect of our stay felt like we were home and that we were meant to be there. This house is so beautiful and full of love that we felt like we were simply staying with family! We enjoyed the quaint backyard, fed some deer that came right to us on the back patio. We shopped at nearby Crocker Park and enjoyed the sunset at the lake just down the street.
The neighbors really let you know that you are safe and they are extremely friendly but also respect your privacy.
There was ample space for parking, a garage for when it rained and plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing without interrupting anyone else.
We hope to stay again on each yearly Anniversary!
