In the other direction approximately one and a half miles away is Upton Country Park, you can also reach the park by foot which takes approximately ten minutes via a footpath in Allens Road. Upton Country Park has over 140 acres of beautiful award-winning gardens, open parkland, woodland and shoreline, with the stunning Georgian Grade II listed Upton House as the centrepiece. The Park also includes The Peacock Tearooms and Art Gallery, the walled garden with a splash fountain, natural play areas, plant sales and an education programme. Poole town centre is a short drive away and is host to the Dolphin Shopping Centre which has a fantastic variety of big high street names as well as great local independent stores. Whilst you are in Poole you could take a stroll along the quay. For the kids why not have a go at Poole Tourism's Treasure Hunt while exploring Poole Quay and Old Town. Other activities include crab lining, boat spotting and playing ball games in Harbourside Park. A visit to the local history Poole Museum is a must on any list of things to do in Poole. Located just away from the quayside the museum is packed with things to do and see for the whole family. Seven miles from the house is Sandbanks with its soft golden beaches. One of the most famous and unique attractions of Sandbanks is the Sandbanks Chain Ferry, which shuttles between Sandbanks and Studland (Shell Bay) crossing at the mouth of Poole harbour. The Shell Bay and Studland Beaches are of the finest quality with fine golden sand. Studland is a small village located on a peninsula in south Purbeck, and is close to Swanage. Swanage is a charming, traditional seaside town. You can drive back round to Poole from Studland and Swanage by driving round the long way through Corfe Castle to Wareham. Some of Dorset's most loved attractions are near Wareham. Meet the rescued lemurs, orangutans and apes at Monkey World or have the biggest day out in history at the Tank Museum. Corfe Castle is definitely worth a visit, Corfe is a small village in the county of Dorset and it is the site of a ruined castle.

A good base
This property was a good size and there was plenty of space for myself, my husband, 2 small children and my dad who joined us. He was able to have his room and ensuite downstairs which worked well. There was easy parking and it was easy to find and a good base for going around Poole and nearby places. The property was clean but not absolutely spotless when we arrived, There are many things that the managers could do that would easily make it a great letting. They need to put up toilet roll holders, hooks in the bathrooms to hang up towels, put up a shelf or cabinet in the bathroom to put toiletries somewhere. They need to put hangers in the wardrobes and increase the number of bowls and plates available. The real issue we did have was that the shower head was cracked and the lightbulbs in the lamps on the bedside tables were both not working. The Bournecoast holidays did respond very quickly to our phonecalls and did send someone to try and fix it very quickly which was really helpful.
