This house on the reservoir is perfect for a family gathering! Plenty of space both inside and out. Will, the host, was very helpful in answering questions and providing information in a timely manner. We enjoyed our weekend stay and would recommend it to others.
Beautiful views of the lake and huge yard. Quiet and peaceful. The house is at the end of a culdesac with no traffic. We are an older group so the house being one level was good. All 10 of us could easily gather in the big open den and kitchen.
This was our first time at the rez and this house was perfect for our stay. It's a large beautiful location with excellent views. We could not have been happier. There was room to park our boat and launch nearby.
Great area! Loved the layout of the house, ton of window area looking over the water, great outdoor area. We had the best space to have a graduation celebration and entertain family from out of town. The hosts were so accommodating and quick to responding to our requests. Loved the whole property and experience. Would definitely rebook in the future.
Loved the property, had everything we needed. Beautiful waking up to the sounds & views to ducks, geese & squirrels !!! Will definitely be back for some R&R !!!
Just perfect. Everything as advertised. Easy process of communication with host. Spectacular location, quiet neighborhood, peaceful. House had all the amenities and was more equipped than most places we have used. Very clean property with expansive living/dining room area. Grateful for the opportunity to stay here.
Our stay was AMAZING!!! This house accommodated EVERYONE; adults, teens and kid! Things that really stick out and intrigue me; clean house but even the floors (this means a lot, especially when its all tile), retro vibe (we love the smell, pullcord curtains, dishes, color scheme etc.), screened in porch was PERFECT. It did rain a bit so the kids were able to chill and play in the screened in portion while the adults played card games at the dining room table - ALL WHILE ENJOYING THE VIEW!!! I just cant say enough about this place. We will def be back.
This was a Beautiful Home. It is so well stocked with Dishes & ect for kitchen, you will have everything you need. the board games were fun as well . The yard was great . There are a Lot of geese & birds & its so very nice to sit outside with coffee. Close to all stores for anything you need. It was my grandsons birthday & easter too . It was just a perfect get away. The host were every helpful too . I have stayed a VRBO houses a Lot & this one was one of the best .
This was our third ( maybe fourth) year to stay here with my parents, my brother and then my husband and kids. It is such a lovely home and we always enjoy our time together so much. There is a cute little walking trail at the head of the subdivision that we walk each morning/evening. The kids and the boys liked the boats that were provided. We fished our little hearts out. The kitchen and family room is plenty big enough for all of us to spend time together and there is a nice little porch room for additional space for meals, cards, games etc. Again, we love this home and would gladly come back.

Relaxing atmosphere
Lovely location could use some renovations.
Grounds need raking old grilling equipment was not cleaned. Screened patio covered with spider webs and needed to be swept down. Inside had a mildewed odor inside. The furniture in the living room was weak and stained rug. All and all we enjoyed the location and how peaceful and quiet. The beds we comfortable and clean. The best sleep I have had in a while. The family wants to return, enjoyed the atmosphere.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alligator Island. The house was stocked with plenty of kitchen supplies and equipment. The yard was perfect for a family birthday celebration/cook out. The temperature had moderated and a light breeze made eating outside on the picnic tables fun. Our grandson fished from the property and even caught a couple of fish. The yard is very large and has places to sit so you can enjoy the views of the reservoir.
If a small group (up to a dozen or so) wanted to have a craft get together, the house has several card tables and large tables for working on craft projects. The floor to ceiling windows in the living and dining area provide beautiful views and let in lots of light. As a crafter, I was impressed with the possibilities for a crafting get together.
This house is vintage….a perfect mid century modern house. They have preserved the house as it was designed but have updated appliances. It was really neat to be in the living room with the soothing and calming views of the water. If you want a quiet place with lots of space to spread out, this may be the place for you.
The property itself is HUGE and has a beautiful view of the lake. A lovely nature spot. Two of us are birders and were ecstatic one morning when we were practically swarmed by warblers and bluebirds as we sat outside. In just two days we saw: ruby-crowned kinglet, three kinds of woodpeckers, Eastern Pheobe, Eastern bluebird, Pine warbler, yellow rumped warbler, nuthatch, chickadees, Northen yellow shafted Flicker (beautiful!), Great blue heron, great white heron, blackbirds, some kind of large hawk, black vulture, and lots of geese and ducks.
The property itself is intentionally dated with fun retro touches, although some may not be in love with the vintage furniture, bathrooms and appliances. I took a star off cleanliness because it's a tad more run down than most will expect --- i.e., the toilet in the master bath is on its last legs and barely flushes. At least two people stated how much they would love to have the house and renovate it. On the other hand, this is clearly a family's much-used lake house and is well-stocked with everything you need and some extra touches like fuel for the fire pit and charcoal for the grill. The beds were comfy and and the linens were all nice. Perfect spot for a family reunion or just a weekend getaway. Although there are 6 double beds, there are only two small bathrooms so there's a limit on the number of people who can actually stay there. comfortably. We came for a wedding and this was the gathering place for other family in the area. Everyone loved it. Good communication with host. Hope we have the chance to stay there again.
The overall experience was quick and easy! Will was excellent and the property was absolutely everything we could have wanted and needed! Plenty of space for our grown children to be with us, after a few years apart!
This is the second time we have stayed here and it's both times have been very nice. The kitchen is well appointed and had what we needed to prepare meals. There are several grocery stores within just a few miles to purchase food. There also is a small walking trail just a block or so away, and each evening we would walk the little walking trail. We saw lots of birds and alligators from behind the house. It was a nice place to sit outside and fish ( we caught a lot of fish) and it was shady. Such a nice place.

About the host
Hosted by Will Hederman
We grew up skiing on The Rez and love spending time at the Lake House whenever we get a chance.
Why they chose this property
This house has been in the family for 4 generations and my sister, Janelle, and I had a chance to bring it back to life in 2012. We took over the property from family members and we have done a significant amount of work to bring the house up to modern conditions while keeping the nostalgic feel. We have been renting it out for 3 years and have a great time hosting families through other websites. We are now looking to add VRBO to our advertising to share this property with others.
What makes this property unique
Property is made up of 4 lots, which is highly unusual. The house sits on 1 lot leaving a huge yard and significant water front access/views that can't be found anywhere else on The Rez. Many have mistaken our place for a public park.
