The property itself is HUGE and has a beautiful view of the lake. A lovely nature spot. Two of us are birders and were ecstatic one morning when we were practically swarmed by warblers and bluebirds as we sat outside. In just two days we saw: ruby-crowned kinglet, three kinds of woodpeckers, Eastern Pheobe, Eastern bluebird, Pine warbler, yellow rumped warbler, nuthatch, chickadees, Northen yellow shafted Flicker (beautiful!), Great blue heron, great white heron, blackbirds, some kind of large hawk, black vulture, and lots of geese and ducks.
The property itself is intentionally dated with fun retro touches, although some may not be in love with the vintage furniture, bathrooms and appliances. I took a star off cleanliness because it's a tad more run down than most will expect --- i.e., the toilet in the master bath is on its last legs and barely flushes. At least two people stated how much they would love to have the house and renovate it. On the other hand, this is clearly a family's much-used lake house and is well-stocked with everything you need and some extra touches like fuel for the fire pit and charcoal for the grill. The beds were comfy and and the linens were all nice. Perfect spot for a family reunion or just a weekend getaway. Although there are 6 double beds, there are only two small bathrooms so there's a limit on the number of people who can actually stay there. comfortably. We came for a wedding and this was the gathering place for other family in the area. Everyone loved it. Good communication with host. Hope we have the chance to stay there again.
