Delightful property, charming host and some of the most beaautiful scenery you'll ever encounter. Some tips:
1. Get supplies en route - there is a shop 10km away in Lettergash but it is expensive.
2. Eat at Paddy Coyne's pub (5km - a lady called Patsy runs a taxi service and is charming)
3. There was more light rain than we anticipated - it was still warm (in late July) but a light jacket is advised
Strongly recommended
The cottage was impeccably clean and cozy, and the location was fantastic. We loved going down to the beach and walking up in the backyard. The area in general is beautiful and extremely convenient to the cottage. We would love to come back.
We had a wonderful time and the house and host were great. Everything was just as described in the description. There were 12 of us and it was perfect!
We had a perfect holiday week here. The house is stunning: very well maintained and very spacious. Kitchen, bathrooms and utility room are well equipped - we didn't miss anything. Living room (with library and fireplace) and bedrooms are very cosy. The view from the window is impressivly beautiful: mountains to one side or the Atlantic Ocean to the other. We also felt very welcome outside the house: the kids could jump on the trampoline and had much space to play football. The sandy beach (a bay with crystal clear water) is only a few metres away and we could go swimming here. There are great opportunities for day trips in the surrounding area: hiking (Diamond Hill/Craogh Patrick, circular walks through a moor), fishing (Killary Harbour) and for rainy days sightseeing (Kylemore Abbey). Gerard was very friendly, welcomed us personally, showed us into the house and gave us lots of tips for the surrounding area. In short, it was a wonderful and relaxing time for our family. We felt comfortable and very welcome!
We had a great time at this property - it is exactly as described. Despite the weather we spent nearly every day on the amazing beach across the road from the property - and it was like having a private beach. We really had a wonderful time. The only point i would mention is it would have been nice if the grass on the front lawn had been mowed as it was quite overgrown and as a result (given the weather) quite wet all the time and so the kids couldnt really play on it.
Stunning views all around the property. A very friendly area. Delighted with the cottage. Very clean and well stocked with towels, dishes and laundry facilities. Beautiful beaches and little villages all around. We had a wonderful family holiday
Loved staying in Gerard’s home. Incredibly clean, plenty of space for a group of adults, comfy beds, amazing location, and wonderful host. Will be back. Thank you Gerard & family!
Lovely house, great facilities, well kitted out with everything you need in a holiday house in
We had a great experience. The owner was very accommodating with our additional requests for cots, highchairs, stairgates, etc. We will definitely recommend to family and friends
This property is in a fabulous location, superb sea views and well equipped kitchen facilities and very clean and spacious we had a great holiday the kids loved the trampoline and the swings. The dogs loved the beach and the garden is enclosed so it is safe for the dogs to wonder around the garden. And finally Gerard always replied quickly to my emails and I would like to thank him for allowing us to stay in his home we will definitely come back here to stay again .

Comfortable, well equipped house in wonderful location.
We are a family of 9 ranging from 2 years to nearly 70. There was ample space for us to relax and unwind in this comfortable house. The kids loved the garden and the trampoline. The kitchen was well equipped so we could bake bread and cakes. The living room was comfortable and we enjoyed lighting the open fire.

Great House in wonderful location
The house was clean and comfortable, providing the perfect setting or two families, along with dogs.
It was close to the sea, which we went in most days and a perfect beach for waking the dogs.

Nice location to access many of the surrounding beaches.
We occupied the house for a week to investigate the area. The area is quiet and relaxing. Very nice to start our first week ever in Ireland.

FANTASTIC
We spent one week with 7 persons in this fantastic house on a fantastic spot.
The house was spotless clean, there was more then enough space for everyone. The showers/bathrooms where great. Bedrooms spacious
The owner was more then friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the beach (3 min walk), we walked/climed the mountain at the back of the house, we did fishing and of course visited Paddy Coyne's Pub. We absolutely recommend to rent this house if you want to avoid disappointments because there will be none . We will come back to Ireland and for sure rent this house again. One word: FANTASTIC

Perfect Irish Home
Our extended family of 11 stayed at this fabulous house. It was exactly what it claimed to be and more. Spotlessly clean, spacious and very well equipped. We loved the location...the beach was steps away and so beautiful. Easy hikes along the beach or up behind the home for magnificent views. Close proximity to the lovely villages of Letterfrack and Clifden. We especially enjoyed Kylemore Abbey , pitch and putt and horse back riding in Cleggan. Gerald was a great host, very prompt replies to any inquiries and very kind to help with a vehicle issue. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. Highly recommended.
