Newly listed with VRBO, our two Poplar House Service Apartment's are part of an independent family-owned residential-building comprising 4 purpose-designed single-bedroomed apartments / flats with a large and mature communal garden area. The detached and tucked-away gem of a 1930's red-brick period-property operates a NON-SMOKING policy throughout. Each of the individual, self-contained, and private service apartments have been immaculately and tastefully furnished.

Both of the private apartment's / flat's comprise a large and airy family-sized double-bedroom which can be variously configured for a Queen-sized double-bed and / or assorted (max. 4 No.) single-beds (by prior notification), a full-sized independant bathroom and shower, a large reception-hall, a fully equipped all mod-con's white-goods kitchen ( with every utensil you would need!), as well as a large and comfortable integrated lounge and dining area. The apartment's are furnished with solid oak furniture throughout.

Each of the serviced apartment's has its own (free) private, exclusive, and secure off-road, on-site front of house parking, and as such are perfectly situated for York's inner-city visitor attractions, York's Universities, as well as offering easy access to York's city business's.

These exclusive, spacious, fully-serviced, and immaculately maintained double-bedroomed (as Standard) 1st Floor Apartment's / Flat's offer two delightfully sunny, warm, roomy, and fully-equipped self-catering / holiday lett's / serviced-flat's close-by York's iconic Georgian 'Mount' residential area.

York is a small city, and the city-centre and York Minster are just a very short 10 and 15 minute walk away respectfully from Poplar House. York's main historic inner-city medieval gateway (Micklegate Bar) is just a 3-5 minute stroll away with easy access directly onto the world-renowned, picturesque, and castellated City-wall's.

These larger-than-average apartments are also suitable (and safe) for accompanying infants / toddlers. A travel cot is also provided free-of-charge (but please bring your own child's bedding). High-quality folding 'Jay-Be' guest-bed's are also available for both children and adults.

In combination with the split double/twin beds these folding beds can be used to offer extra single-adult stay options (maximum being 3 single adults per-booking per-flat).

As we offer 2 serviced / self-catering apartment's at Poplar House, together they can accommodate 6 adults comfortably across both of the independent units.

Lovely short break in York

Enjoyed our stay at this property, perfect in every respect, ideally situated to explore York city on foot we left the car in the driveway for most of our stay! The property had everything we needed and was comfortable. Slight road noise early in the morning noticeable if you’re not used to it like us but not a problem really and to be expected in a large city.

Fantastic find in York

The accommodation was just perfect for us as a family of 4 ( 12 & 9 ). Plenty of space in the bedroom for 3 beds, lovely bathroom, comfortable in the lounge and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen even a coffee maker! Lillian was so friendly and welcoming, she left a welcome gift when we arrived-milk, eggs, muffins, butter and jam such a lovely touch. The accommodation was 10 minutes walk to the centre of York and has onsite free parking, which is a big plus! Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. Thank you we had a fantastic time

Lovely apartment near to York

Would recommend staying here if you intend to visit York. It had everything that we needed for our 3 night stay. Lilian was there to meet us and show us around the property and provide us with a map and details of the area and York. There were lots of leaflets and information for us to browse through. The apartment comprises of a large lounge with two settees and a dining table and television. The bedroom has a large bed and sofa bed with cupboards and an easy chair. The kitchen comprised of everything you needed, including dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, microwave, four ring oven and cooker, fridge, freezer, plenty of cupboard space with plenty of pans and cooking utensils. In fact there was nothing more we could have needed. Even the bathroom, had soap and shampoo, towels, toilet rolls and had a bath and shower, although the shower was difficult to adjust the temperature, so I ended up having a bath. Also a nice thought was a welcome pack of bread, eggs, butter, milk and jams, so we needn't do any shopping when we arrived. The coffee machine was also very useful, loved the coffee. It was about a mile to walk into the centre of York approx. 20 minutes, but there were a lot of pubs and restaurants along the way into the centre, so you didn't need to walk into York to have something to eat or drink. We had apartment 1, which overlooked the bowling greens, so it was a nice view, as well. It is all very clean and we had a lovely stay. We are very likely to stay again in the future, if we are up that way.

If you are travelling with family, or just with friends, you can choose an apartment at Poplar House with a variety of double and single-bed options.

If you are in York on business you can book an apartment with a big queen-sized bed, and relax in style after a taxing day. If you are holidaying with young children (Children up to 16 years of age stay FREE), the family-sized bedroom is but a 'world away' in the evening from the kids, so enabling parents to relax and get some well deserved, and hard-won quality time, in relaxed and private surroundings.

What makes this property unique

Poplar House Serviced Apartments offers different bedding arrangements (King-double and / or multi single-bed options), that are especially suitable for getaway couples or young family's.

We offer two single family-sized bedroomed apartments. Each private apartment / flat consists of a large and airy double-bedroom which can be variously configured for single beds (by prior notification); a full-sized bathroom / shower, a large lobby / reception-hall, a fully equipped all mod-con's white-goods kitchen ( with all utensils), as well as a large and comfortable integrated lounge and dining area.

The apartments can suitably (and safely) accommodate accompanying infants / toddlers and travel-cot, if so desired. High-quality folding 'JAY-BE' guest-bed's are available for older children (18 months and up-wards) and are free to children to 16 years of age. A surcharge is payable for the extra 1 Adult-stay option ( 3 Adults in total as a maximum booking).
