Nice Condo with poor property management

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was generally nice, but did show some wear and tear (e.g. cracked mirror and paint peeling). The property management company was overly intrusive (multime similar emails and asking questions that were irrelevant to the stay such as what is your departure airline?) and it took them 2 days to respond to a maintanence request. They would not give entry instructions until the exact minute of entry. They sent extensive rules and regulations including $25 for each bag of garbage they needed to throw out on checkout. The condo was nice, but I would not want to deal with this property management company again.

A few points to note to owner.

The “starter kit” of paper products for a 10 day stay was weak. The toilet seat does not even fit the toilet, might want to spring for a new seat. There is no strainer in the kitchen which to me is part of a fully stocked unit. Other than those things the unit is pretty much as advertised.

Stunning views

Absolutely stunning views of Lana’i and Moloka’i, we stayed April 6-13 and saw whales every day! Turtles and even a Hawaiian Monk Seal sunning himself one day! Condo was very clean and bright. Seating was perfect for watching the ocean.

The location, the view, the turtles…

The location was great for those wanting a condo experience at an arm’s length from resort hotels. Northern end of the walkable beach stretch for a nice daily beach walk. Narrow beach at condo but close enough to comfortably carry chairs to the wider beach if that’s your thing. Close walk to Dukes for beachfront meals and also walkable to the grocery store, food trucks and pizza shop if you’re up for eating at the condo. Closest place to the water giving great sound of the waves and the balcony is pure view and completely private. No looking out at view and seeing lots of other balconies, and them seeing you. You will see sea turtles popping their heads up for air and the water is clear enough to watch them swimming the reef. Pool and hot tub are water front and have restroom with shower if you have a late flight and want to put your stuff in your car trunk and catch some extra pool or beach time after check out. The mirrored walls give an open feeling to the unit and the swivel chairs in the living area were perfect for continuing the view even when you had to catch up on some email. I would definitely book this unit again if returning!

Views of a lifetime

This condo exceeded our expectations in every way! The location, the amenities, the breathtaking views! We had some of the best snorkeling steps from our building. We spotted turtles several times from our patio. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed to start us off, coffee, toiletries, and quality bedding! Finally, the location was perfect, walking distance to a fun food truck park with tons of great (and affordable) dining options. You will not be disappointed when booking this condo!

Amazing Location

The location can’t be beat… views were amazing, and the beach right outside the door is beautiful. Check in was very smooth, and the condo had everything we needed. I do agree with a previous reviewer that the condo could use a little TLC (painting, toilet seat kept shifting off when sitting on it, the table on the balcony is falling apart), but did not impact our great stay.

The unit is well decorated and well stocked, we had everything we needed and more! The bedroom window coverings were quite dirty and appeared there was some water damage to baseboards in the unit. We chalked it up to being directly on the ocean and honestly it didn’t hamper our experience at all, it was unexpected given the rate of the unit though. We would definitely stay at the Mahana again, we wanted to relinquish all our possessions back in Colorado and stay forever.

Mind blowing beautiful condo and view

This condo far exceeded my expectations. I felt incredibly privileged and lucky to have this view and private condo. Staff was very responsive and the check in was easy. Stunning view of ocean and 6 floors up makes you feel you're right on top of the ocean; some of us saw whales from window; saw a large turtle near shoreline; can go to sleep hearing sound of ocean, wood styled floors instead of carpet made it look modern. The building has a nice pool that also looks over ocean; several large grills to cook food on which were being used; hot tub. Location was close to Blackrock where we snorkeled and saw large turtles. Would like to return some day. Maui is beautiful.

Just like your house, things are going to happen but you don’t expect them while on vacation but life happens. Had an issue with the shower and they jumped on the issue and made sure everything was resolved and in a very timely manner. Thanks for allowing us to use your beautiful beachside property and making our vacation even more amazing. Property was convenient to get to with beautiful tree covered parking area. Beautiful sand and beach. Amazing pool and hot tub were available but did not use. We will be back.

Construction noise

The property is lovely. They indicated construction on the advertisement however our unit was surrounded by units that were being remodeled and the noise of constant drilling was a definitely a mood killer. Staying in the room during the day was impossible, so if you don’t plan to be site seeing daily I wouldn’t recommend the property until construction is complete. I messaged the property manager twice and never heard back from them during our stay. The unit was clean and comfortable with an amazing view of the ocean so relaxing would have been enjoyable.
