IT WAS A GIRL GET AWAY AND IT WAS SOOOO PERFECT FOR US HAD FUN PLAYING POKER, PING PONG, POOL TABLE SO MUCH FUN AND THE HOT TUB WAS AN AWESOME BONUS! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN AND LAUGHS ...THANK-YOU !
Enjoyed our stay. Property was as advertised. Accomodated the 10 of us easily and was just close enough to enjoy the University of Wisconsin campus without the craziness of staying on campus during football game weekend. Would highly recommend this property and look forward to renting it again!
The house had ample room for 13 people to eat, play, and lounge and we enjoyed games in the large back yard, grilling on the big charcoal grill, and the two outdoor/indoor patios to spend as much time comfortably outside as we could. Also, the shower / steam room in the main bathroom was great!
A group of golfers used the house for post round bbq, drinking and gaming. Perfect fit for the stay. Plenty of room. Upkeep was fantastic. Would rent it again
Had a great time! The house was great and lots of space. Loved the hot tub and the basement. We had several Black Jack tournaments. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to make many meals, including grilling out on the enclosed deck. Can't wait to book again.
Family gathering in lovely spacious home with great amenities (hot tub, pool table, ping pong, sun room) and large outside space. Enjoyed all the interior space, beautiful country side views, sunrises/sunsets and the walking trail!
This property was great for our family reunion. Six of us stayed there, but the house was a great gathering place for all 20 of us. Lots of room to be together; lots of places to break out into conversational groups that ebbed and flowed. We particularly enjoyed the two porches and walking the extensive grounds.
We had an amazing time at this property. We spent so much time outside exploring and fishing in the ponds. The dogs had a blast running around outside. There was a lot of room inside the home as well, great for a large family. We would definitely come back. The one thing was that the hot tub was dirty and cold, it never really warmed enough to enjoy.
Nice secluded area to have a nice family gathering; brought our pickleball net and played a few games, went fishing in their ponds, and lots of time spent in the basement watching the women’s NCAA basketball tournament as well as black jack, ping pong and pool. House is a little dated with decor, but the house is cozy, the beds were comfortable and just being together as a family under one roof was just what we needed and this was the halfway point! Would recommend this place and would stay again!
Clean, spacious, and scenic. A recommended private space to have big groups in comfort. Large beautiful private yard with its own pond as well as multiple spacious interiors, sun-room, screened patio, game room basement and a nice backyard hot tub. Home is full of natural light and kitchen has lots of space. Comfortable clean bathrooms. All only a 15 minute drive from most shops/food but the house is surrounded by scenic woods and fields and just the sounds of nature . A fantastic place! We stayed to visit the House on the Rock for a great long weekend.
The grounds and surrounding landscape were absolutely idyllic - we were even treated to a pair of sandhill cranes strutting near the backyard ponds! The house offered excellent space for numerous guests, and had good sleeping arrangements for the 11 adults in our group, tho we would be hard pressed to see how 3 more would fit (the description said sleeps 14).
The decor and furniture were rather dated, and the BBQ space proved to be dangerously smoky when used as the exhaust fan did not work and ventilation was entirely inadquate. These issues were the only real drawbacks to an otherwise perfect facility for a group/family gathering.
This place was great and perfect for what our group was looking for. Very large, open spaces and bedrooms with lots of amenities. It is not far from Verona or Mt Horeb but it is out in the country in a private drive so there are no disturbances. The added bonuses of the garage access, hot tub, wet bar and game tables only made this place better. The owner was great and responded quickly to questions. He also stopped by once and helped get the hot tub running and also was quick to shovel snow due to some that fell during our stay. I would agree with some of the other reviews that the decor was outdated but that is not something we look for in a rental for our annual getaway. Will absolutely be coming back here for future trips!
Overall we had a great weekend. One of the deciding factors on this property was the game room and hot tub because we were limited to outdoor activities. We were hoping for snow and frozen pond but Mother Nature did not cooperate. So we were super bummed to find the hot tub empty. They did come the second day and fill , as it was a new hot tub apparently but unfortunately it wasn’t until the afternoon and it took 12 hours to warm ti temperature and that was well into the morning hours so we could not use . House was larger than expected and gave us tons of room for socializing, eating and hanging out. Overall it was a good rental.

Nice But a Few Issues
The house had tons of space and the property was awesome. Kitchen was well stocked with various items and lots of condiments in the fridge.
Big issue was the inaccuracies in the listing. The number of bedrooms was incorrect and the number of adult guests it said it could sleep was incorrect. We were short 1 bed for two adults vs what was described on the listing. I messaged the owner about this and he never replied. We ended up having to buy a air mattress.
There was no check in or check out procedure anywhere. Not in the listing or at the property. We did our best when checking out but without instructions it’s hard to know what they want you to do.
Neither of the gas fire places worked and the hot tub temperature wouldn’t get fully up.
Lastly after checkout the owner without messaging me requested an additional $100 for not putting away dishes and for some stain that he was unable to provide evidence of. You cannot charge for not put the dishes away when you don’t give explicit instructions.
Overall it suited the need for the weekend skiing with a large group but needs a bit of effort from the owner to improve the listing.
Scott was very responsive to all of my inquiries leading up to and during our stay. This home is tucked away off the beaten path and has plenty of room for family gatherings. Enjoyed the Christmas decorations they put up. There are some aspects of the home that need some TLC - shower railings loose and hot tub not operational.
Great property designed to maximize beautiful views and countryside. Close enough to Madison to be convenient yet nestled in rolling farmland with amazing views. Perfect for our holiday weekend.

Why they chose this property
This property is unmatched with its scenery. The two ponds located in the back yard usually have lots of birds and wild life. The distance around them is 1/4 mile perfect for a run morning noon or night. All of the beds and Couches are very comfortable. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom and there is a jet tub in the master. The double oven is one of the many great features in the fully stocked kitchen, There is a propane grill just off the kitchen in the grill room with a hood fan! In the basement you can enjoy a wet bar, ping pong, pool table, and the hot tub. there is even a private parking lot.
What makes this property unique
Unique to this home is how close the snowmobiling trails are, they happen to ride through the edge of the property so you can jump on them easily but will not even notice them when relaxing in the home. U Ridge has the best golf and cross country skiing it is only 7 miles away. Tyrol basin is only 10 minuets away and is a great place to spend a weekend downhill skiing. If you like fat tire biking or mountain biking you can find plenty of trails. The military ridge bike trail is 1 mile from the house and it leads to some of the most beautiful trails around.
