Great cabin stay
Exactly as described and wonderfully isolated for a quiet weekend. Was there in the Winter, and had cross country skiing and snowmobile trail hiking to the max. Fireplace was absolutely awesome, and a very well equipped kitchen. Loved it

Beautiful, quiet escape in the perfect spot
A well cared for cabin on a well tucked-away property. Plumbing, heat, and electricity work flawlessly, and the pond is a delightful and unique feature. About a one hour drive from Burlington airport, and a half hour drive from Montpelier, but sits on a very quiet and private plot. You couldn't find a more pure silence than at this place in the snow. Perfect place to escape for a little peace in a quaint New England setting. The owners are quick to accommodate and care about creating a pleasing experience.

Cute cabin
It was a very vermont experience. All the mirrors above the stairs were kinda creepy. Hella spiders, couple mice - don't leave anything out on the counter over night, but I guess its to be expected in this style cabin. Overall it was cute and on beautiful property.

Gorgeous Private Getaway
Overall, great place and great people! Beautiful, big yard sloping from a tiny magical apple orchard, past the historic house, down to the perfect pond. We enjoyed feeding the fish, floating on the dock, and wading in the shallows with the tadpoles. Our two dogs absolutely loved it there, as well. The owner and caretaker are both accessible, friendly, and responsive. The surrounding area is mostly open fields, thick forests, and incredible views. It's located close enough to Barre & Montpelier for easy access to some really great restaurants, but still far enough to feel like a private wonderland. I hope to visit again someday soon. Although summertime was great for the pond and the unbelievably delicious LegenDairy Maple & Ice Cream shop close by, I also want to experience this property in the fall when the foliage is at its peak beauty and the apples are ready for eating!

July Stay
My wife, two boys (13 & 10) and I stayed at this property for four nights and rate our overall experience as really good. We were visiting from California and were looking for a remote location that provided a bit of isolation and natural beauty. The property location provided what we were looking for. For us, Vermont was beautiful and a short walk from the cabin provided some beautiful views of the mountains. My boys especially liked picking wild strawberries from the open fields. The cabin itself was rustic, but updated with all the essentials (TV’s, wi-if, full kitchen with all appliances, w/d, bathrooms had hot water and the fireplace was nice). The beds were springy and firm, but a little rough waking up in for me. I am near 50 yo so most beds don’t work for me that easily. The yard with the pond was a highlight. It was great to swim in and our boys enjoyed daily feeding the 20 or so rainbow trout that occupy it (food provided). The property manager was available by phone if needed and very friendly. The one negative was that the owner requires you to bring your own linens for the beds and towels. Luckily we had friends near Boston that let us borrow theirs. If not we would have had to haul them from California and taken space in our luggage. Otherwise, we had a great time on the property.

BEST PLACE TO RELAX AND REFRESH!
Nowadays as a full time working mother running a family of 5 plus 3 fur kids is chaotic (understatement of the year). Even going on vacations leaves us in need of a vacation to recuperate from the vacation. We wanted a place with enough to do (if we choose) with little to no hustle and bustle; and most importantly a lot of peace and relaxation. We found it at the Caleb Atwell house. Our family of 5 slept comfortably in this historic yet very well maintained home. There was plenty of room for all of us and plenty of property to explore and play games on. Not only did we all enjoy the pond, but so did our dogs (yes this place is pet friendly too!) It was great to see the kids and the dogs running and playing games (like ones provided at the house like horseshoes and badminton) on what seems to be an endless green yard. Although you feel like you are millions of miles from anything, you are still within a reasonable distance of everything you need and want; such as great hiking and the simple joys that an old "downtown" provides (with modern pleasures such as Ben & Jerry's ;) ) The owners are very friendly and accommodating and there is no question, they take a lot of pride in keeping this house in great shape so that others can enjoy all it has to offer. Happy to say this is just what we needed and there was no need for recuperation. Glad this home was recommended to us by previous visitors and we will definitely be back soon!

GREAT COUNTRY SETTING
The Caleb Atwell House is a wonderful retreat from the busy world. It is complete with natural beauty, a private pond and expansive lawns, all supported by views of the wild unspoiled hills and mountains of Vermont. This lovely rural home is clean and well maintained. The beautiful antique wide floor boards, beamed ceilings and wonderful decor create a home with lots of character. All beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was nicely stocked with any utensils, place settings, pots or pans you would ever need to prepare a meal. Off the beaten path yet very accessible, the home has nearby hiking and scenery to gaze at. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing here We definitely look to return to this house again when we visit Vermont!

A wonderful historic place with beautiful vistas..
The Caleb Atwell House was everything it was described plus. Located in one of the prettiest parts of Vermont, the house is adorable and very special. We love the charm of a true historic post and beam home but with all the modern amenities; super fully stocked kitchen and recently updated baths. In an area of abundant wildlife there are hiking trails galore with superb views. The pond with floating dock and raft is an inviting spot for a cool dip, followed by the delightful outside shower. We will definitely return for more visits.

REAL VERMONT Scenic Retreat
A very comfortable, charming and well maintained country farmhouse surrounded by beautiful land, excellent views, an apple orchard and private pond with a floating dock. We thoroughly enjoyed shopping and dinning in Montpelier and Barre, as well sight seeing in all the quaint towns along Rt. 110. Watching the hummingbirds feed on the deck was a special treat. We are busy recommending this rental to our friends, and are already planning a Fall return visit to see the foliage. Kevin and Kelly Colacrai Bethel, Ct
