Great stay!

We (a family of 4) had a great stay in this house just outside Periana. We loved the pool , picked fresh fruits from the trees in the garden, watched the stars from the roof terrace, visited beaches and ate in great restaurants in the neighbourhood. We also visited beautiful places like the Alhambra, El Torcal and caminito del Rey! The AC in the bedrooms was very welcom and necessary so a good sleep is guaranteed. The new kitchen was also well utilized! Thanks for the great stay and letting us rent your home!

Nice place, but no lake

We very much enjoyed the house, cosy, good showers and nice location: very quite and overlooking the lake. Speaking of the lake, there is only 10% left of it. We had been looking forward to sailing, kayakking etc.but that appeared fo be impossible at arrival. Very sad, in terms of climate change.

Super vacances reposantes !

Awesome

Upon our arrival at the Casita we were blown away by the most spectacular views. Surrounded by fabulous countryside, fragrant fruit trees and lovely gardens we were delighted to discover the roof terrace and the decking area as well as lots of little nooks and hide aways. We simply did not expect to find the layers of privicy and tranquility that we enjoyed. The Casita itself was just wonderful. It has been renovated to an excellent standard with tasteful decor creating a lovely authenticity. All of our needs had been considered and the attention to detail was great. All of the faciliies were superb; Clean, safe and maintained to an extremely high standard ensuring that our holiday was one to remember. We did brave the pool, (we stayed in October), which was exhilerating and great fun. There are lots of books and games to enjoy and we had lovely lazy days. The evenings were especially magical with the fairy lights and candles. We made our own tapas and relaxed with a glass of wine or three.... The location is brilliant. However, a car is essential. We were able to explore the area with ease. For a little culture, Granada and the Alambra Palace is a couple of hours drive but well worth it. In the oposite direction we absolutely loved Rhonda, situated in the hills above Marbella. The coast is easy to get to and the Pallella at Nerja is the best. We also enjoyed people watching at Puerto Banus. More locally we enjoyed walking down by the lake and had a bbq feast on the Sunday. We did try a couple of the little restaurants close by that Karl and Lisa recommended which we enjoyed. Our holiday was awesome and we have recommended the Casita to so many people. We loved this beautiful place and have absolutely no hesitation in giving it the 5 star thumbs up that it deserves. Marie and Kevin.

Hi we have 4 boys, and have had the cottages for 18 years. We have spent many happy holidays here since the boys were little. It is ideal for toddlers and children as they have so much outside space and freedom to run around. We enjoy the relaxed outdoor lifestyle.

Why they chose this property

We love the area of Periana/Lake Vinuela as the scenery is stunning, it is very peaceful and you get a taste of real Spain. It is away from the crowds of the coast but only half an hour to the beach, so easily accessible whenever you wish to go. You can easily explore both the Costa del Sol or the many stunning scenic drives in the mountains and villages of Andalucia. We enjoy the outside lifestyle and exploring many tapas bars in the hillside villages! as well as driving to the coast and relaxing on the beach. You can travel easily to the cities of Granada, Malaga or Cordoba experiencing the Andalucian lifestyle, fantastic architecture and special treats such as the Moorish baths. In winter we love to travel to the sierra nevada to ski (1.5 hrs away) and then head back for some sun!

What makes this property unique

The cottages are just a few minutes drive into the village of Periana and a few local restaurants and bars, so you can chill by the pool and then easily nip out for something to eat and drink. Children have a ball here, running around, swimming, climbing trees and generally playing outside. The pools are fenced (cottage 2) or gated (cottage 1) as safety by the pool is always an issue to us having little ones ourselves. The cottages also have a sandpit, swing and hammock to keep the children amused, cottage 2 has a slide and playhouse too.
