Lovely house in great location
Walking distance to the village, the house was well equipped, and comfortable for our group. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

Fantastic place
Lovely house with great views. Great location just on the edge of the village, near the duck pond. House is very comfortable and spacious, and well appointed (cooking utensils etc). Beds and linen very comfortable, too - more like a home than a holiday let. Highly recommended.

Excellent location, fantastic views, perfect facilities provided outstanding family holiday.
On arrival you are immediately taken aback by the ideal remote location. On entering the property the overall impression is of comfort, warmth and you are then stunned by the view over the mountains from the sun room. The spacious property, there were eight of us, was very well equipped, with cosy bedding and a well furnished rooms. The local shops provide all that was needed during our stay and the coffee shops were well frequented ,especially 'The Bothy', which was our favourite. The walks, climbs and wildlife seen during the visit are too many to list but have made a lasting memory of what Braemar, and the local area have to offer. Everything from the outstanding property, location and even the weather have provided us with family holiday memories we will always remember and cherish. Thank you for the use of your excellent property, we will return.

Rude Host
This stay was marred by an initial run-in with a rude host. The host failed to send the usual information pack needed for the stay in advance, giving details of the key safe location, code etc. A few days before the trip I realised I had not received anything and asked for the key safe code, which he supplied in a terse note saying this information had already been given. It had not - neither by email nor available through the VRBO app/website - which is why I emailed. When we arrived at the property the key safe was nowhere to be found. I eventually managed to get hold of the host on the phone to ask for its location and he was abrupt with me in person, saying in an exasperated way that the details had already been supplied, and adding in a condescending manner, as if I were clearly stupid, “Everyone else has managed to find it”. I eventually found the key safe in a place that would have been impossible to locate without being supplied with details in advance. I have been renting holiday cottages through Vrbo and similar sites for many years and have never yet failed to easily gain access to a property. The thing that particularly struck me was that even if the host did believe he'd sent the information in advance, was there still any reason to be rude on the phone, especially to someone paying you the best part of £1.6k? What trouble is it to simply be helpful and polite? The property is actually very nice, but there is plenty of choice in Braemar so I would not come back.

Not the standard expected
The house has great potential – for example the sun room is lovely – but we did not feel the accommodation met our expectations for example: - Electrical incident: the washing machine started smoking after two uses. Luckily, we were in the property and were able to turn the appliance off before the smoke turned to fire. The machine – a Miele Special Electronic W 754 S – is very, very old, indeed a quick search on the internet suggests this model was last produced in 1989. This machine is not at all what one would expect, and it must not come as a surprise to you that it broke down in such a dangerous way. This then negatively impacted upon our stay: I’m sure you’ll agree washing clothes by hand in the bath each night is not something one wants to do on their holiday. - Dangerous dryer: the appliance with your *FIRE RISK* warning sticker on it fortunately did not go on fire. However, this is not safe as the extractor tube at the rear is inappropriately attached with a curtain hook meaning it simply hangs down and does not actually extract anything from the dryer. - Musty/ stale smell: upon arrival the house smelt. It badly needed aired. Despite opening all the windows, the smell lingered throughout the week, and some of our clothes smelt stale. It was hard to get rid of the smell, perhaps as all the external air bricks have been boarded up with slates, and a number of the bedroom furniture pieces had someone’s clothes either hanging up or in drawers. - Worn out couches: two of the three couches just don’t work! Their cushions desperately need replaced. - Missing bed linen and towels: we had to contact you and your housekeeper to provide us with enough of these for the eight guests we had booked for. - Dirty place mats: these had crusted remains of food on them. We needed to clean them prior to use.

Very accomodating
We had to move the booking to next year because of Covid-19 and this was done speedily and without question, thanks very much.

Magnificent property in a breathtaking location
We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. The house is beyond well equipped, clean and its location is dreamy. There is plenty to do if you love the outdoors, or to explore the many beautiful villages and towns in the surrounding. The views from the top of Morrone (mountain right next to the house) are breathtaking. The only BUT that some of the members of our group had is that it should be mentioned in the description that the house is NOT vegetarian or vegan friendly due to the many hunting “trophies” (head and bird displayed in the living room and skins in the sun room)

Family get together
Nice house, great location, plenty to do in the area. A little maintenance could be done on the property but otherwise would recommend a stay at this property.

Deerpath
Deerpath is a very comfortable home - spacious, bright, warm, fresh, clean and modern. It is located in a beautiful place with stunning views, yet within ten minutes walking distance of the centre of Braemar, with a selection of shops, and cafes. The main attraction for us in Braemar was the Flying Stag bar/restaurant at the resplendent Fife Arms. Braemar is a perfect place from which to explore the Cairngorms. There are a very wide range of walks close by from easy stroll to serious hiking. Highly recommended.

Fabulous
We were an extended family of 9 which included 3 small children. We had an amazing time: the house was terrific, the views stunning and the location/ local activities and amenities varied. We would recommend this place without reservation.

Wonderful house in an amazing location!! Well stocked kitchen, & comfortable beds.
We were two families with 4 adults and 5 boys. The layout of the house was perfect, beds comfy, great showers, well-stocked kitchen, but to be honest, if it was just a tent with sleeping bags, the location would have made up for it. Waking up to the ever changing beauty of the Cairngorms every morning is reason enough to love this house! The hiking from right out the front door is world class, and the wonderful village of Braemar with pubs, butcher and grocer is easy walking distance. I can’t recommend this house enough, thank you for allowing us to share your wonderful home!!

Fabulous house with great views.
Luxurious house five minutes from Braemar centre. Scrupulously clean on arrival. Lots of wildlife in the garden including red squirrels. Great sun lounge and brilliant drying facilities for the keen walker. Already booked next year.

Overwhelming
We had a fantastic week in Deerpath Cottage. Everything that was written was there, even better than promised! Lots of Logs for the wood burning stove, it was a bit chill in the evenings.. The environment was splendid, next to the house were great walking trails. Lots and lots of deers, rabbits, squirls, ducks and other birds could be seen from the sunroom. This was our favorite place to sit and watch wildlife! The house is very complete and clean. Couldn't be better! We would surely recommend it for a perfect Holliday in Braemar!

Great house for a family holiday
We had a fantastic weeks holiday. The accommodation is well suited for large families. Main bedroom to one side of living space and 3 bedrooms at other side. Lovely open plan kitchen, living, dining space with plenty of natural light. Quality furniture, bedding and towels. Kitchen is well stocked with plenty of crockery for large groups but some cookware needs replaced. We loved the location, hill walks literally on your door step, deer can be seen from the sunroom and only a short walk to the village. We will definitely plan a return trip as our children and parents loved it.
