Roberto went way above what was required. He arranged a taxi from the airport and met us at the taxi stop to take us to the apartment. Great location in Trastevere. Walkable to most of the major sites.
This place looks just like the pictures, except the balcony is not usable. It’s the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed in! We spilled some water on the floor and I wiped it up with a paper towel. The towel wasn’t even a bit dirty.
The place has everything you need. It’s perfect for a couple days’ stay in Rome and close to many restaurants and shops. We would definitely stay here again.
Our only challenge was the air conditioner worked so well we froze the first night. We turned the temp up to 27 degrees Celsius and it was still too cold. We asked for a blanket, because they only had a sheet on the bed, but there were no blankets, so we bought sweatshirts to wear to bed. We were thankful for the cool air since it was so hot (108 f), but would have appreciated a blanket too.
This place is great. Location in Trastevere is fantastic. So many good restaurants, bars, and shops within a short (1-2 block) walk; and, right across the river (10-15 minute walk) from the Centro Storico and all of its sites.
Apartment was very safe. Neighborhood buzzed with energy at night, but the apartment was totally quiet because it is set back from the street over a private courtyard. Owner was very nice, super-responsive, set up a transfer from the airport for us, and gave a ton of good recommendations for local restaurants.
Perfect home base for our family of three for our stay in Rome. Would absolutely rent this place again.
The appartment is very good.
Needs a few things sorting out.
The balcony floor was covered in green algae and spent an hour scrubbing the tiles.
The people above had plant pots which they watered and with a dripping hose it caused dampness which then created algae.
The shower was poor , had some heat to the shower but would then go cold and then hot.
In the tiny toilet in bedroom there was noise from cistern every 30 seconds, annoying when trying to get to sleep.
The appartment needs a table outside rather than a bench outside the door, its a beautiful courtyard which would have been nice to have breakfast etc. It was very awkward taking drinks etc up the stairs to balcony table/chairs.
On the good side , its perfectly placed in Trastevere, a minutes walk to the square of Santa Maria basilica.
Be aware that description does not mention the city tax of rome so expect to pay extra when leaving. Many other owners pay it for you as art of rental so check first.
A sfor Trastevere the cost has shot up , had a few lagers and was charged €7 a pint. Restaurants can be shocking too , do your homework. We found one on Via della Scala called Il Tarallo, very nice dining at a very good price, staff wonderful.
Italians in restaurants are getting ruder and all they care about is money. Yes they have lost out due to covid but should not rip off tourists.
Most people around the courtyard appartments were polite but a couple were ignorant.
Would not stay there again.
Pictures of the balcony fooled us into thinking how nice it was but it was a filthy.
Owner said he would have cleaned it but it should have been cleaned BEFORE we got there.
He also said "it was clean" so check and take photos if anything wrong.
We absolutely loved this neighborhood. There are so many things to see and such a mixture of people. Roberto was excellent to work with. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags in the room which was so nice. He gave us the code to the outside door and left the keys in a drop box for us when we got back. Roberto pointed out all the places to go and see and recommended restaurants for us to have lunch and dinner.
We had coffee and cornetto at a restaurant in the Church of Santa Maria piazza. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name but if you are facing away from the church it is the restaurant on the right directly across from the church. One of the restaurants Roberto suggested was Tonnarellos it was delicious. If you can make reservations do so or you will wait but the wait is worth it. Also don’t miss Donkey punch. A little hole in the wall sandwich shop that had incredible porchetta sandwiches. The streets of Tratevere at night are teaming with people. Both locals and tourist so grab a table somewhere have a glass of wine or a drink and watch life go by.
When we ventured out almost everything you want to see was maybe a 20 minute walk so very easy. We only spent two days here but when we go back to Rome we would stay in this neighborhood and at Roberto’s property. It was a great way to start out Itlalian vacation
This was my third time staying in Trastevere. This was by far the best place I have stayed. Truly a ground floor. Truly quiet. Truly close to all the dynamic life of Trastevere. I will definitely book here again.
