About this property

La Grange is a beautifully restored barn located in a quiet and private cul de sac in the village of Saint Prix Les Arnay overlooking the peaceful Auxois countryside.
The property has been tastefully restored to a high standart with exposed beams and wall supports.
The living room opens on to a terrace and garden through a large bay window. The kitchen also opens on to another terrace.
The living area consists of comfortable armchairs placed around a wood burning stove with transparent front window to enjoy the view on the fire.The dining area has a table and chairs suitable for 8 persons and a well equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and high stools.
There are three bedrooms all having en-suite bathrooms and one has a bath tub and shower. Bed linen and towels are all provided.
Outdoor furniture is provided to enjoy the terrasses and garden.
The house is cool in the sulmer and super warm in the winter time thanks to a geothermic heating system.
This holiday home has been equipped to provide every possibility for a truly memorable experience in the quiet French countryside of Burgundy. It can be used as a base for further exploration of the area or just a place to relax and meditate.

First time in Burgundy

We were very warmly welcomed by Marie and William who gave us lots of ideas for visiting the region. Their holiday home is very spacious and well equiped, as and corresponds with the pictures. We stayed for one week together with our three young adult children and we all had a relaxing wonderful time!

Ce gîte est un petit nid douillet

Nous remercions Marie et William pour l'organisation de notre arrivée et de notre départ, ainsi que pour leur disponibilité pour répondre à nos questions. Nous avons adoré ce lieu très chaleureux où rien ne manque (ustensiles cuisine, lits confortables, tables et chaises en terrasse, four, grand frigo, grandes salles de bain avec eau bien chaude...). La maison était super propre à notre arrivée : très agréable. En ce mois de novembre nous avons apprécié de pouvoir faire une petite flambée dans le poêle : le petit salon est très convivial. Concernant le lieu : aucun bruit, c'est la campagne comme on l'aime. On peut se balader à pied facilement. La région est belle et il ne faut pas hésiter à faire qq kilomètres pour en profiter. On y reviendra avec grand plaisir.

Excellente prestation !

Sejour en famille ! Avons apprécié les salles de bain dans chaque chambre. Volumes très intéressants côté séjour et cuisine. Semaine tres ensoleillée... attention aux parasols ! Un seul était réellement en bon état... sinon rien à redire... nous avons aussi apprécié le calme. A retenir pour un prochain séjour familial !

Maison magnifique dans une région belle et très calme / Mooi gerieflijk huis in een rustige streek

Nous avons logé plus d'une semain dans la belle maison de Marie et William à Saint Pris lès Arnay. Dans la maison tout le comfort est là. Un petit point d'attention, dans un des trois chambres de bains il y a un odeur desagréable. La region est très calme, très rural et magnifique (pas loin, de Beaune, d'Autun, du Morvan). Vous trouvez les magasins et commerces et bon restaurant 'Le Café du Nord) à Arnay Le Duc (une petite ville chamrmante). Très agréable étatit aussi que tout les accords avec Marie et William ont été remplis. Une expérience magnifique. Et fortement recommandé. Eric et co (Belgique)

magnifique maison en pierre , grand jardin clôt, village magnifique et extrêmement calme

heureusement que la région est belle... nous ne serions pas sortis de la maison tant elle est belle, agréable à vivre et confortable. les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et attentionnés. bref un lieu à découvrir absolument . on a adoré . encore un grand merci aux Altman!

Quintessential French farmhouse in Burgundy

This place is a hidden gem! Our Aussie family of 6 stayed here in July 2013 and had a fabulous holiday. It is so restful and quiet that our whole family slept 10+ hours each night! The house itself is beautifully restored. The rooms are spacious and all bedrooms have ensuites. Beds are beyond comfy! The kitchen is great and is well equipped with quality appliances. The washing machine is the largest and fastest I have ever seen! The house is exceptionally clean and great value, though no wifi (maybe that is good...). Our kids loved the space to roam and play with no electronics in sight. Marie and William are excellent hosts and have done a great job with restoration (they speak good english). The nearby medieval town (5mins drive) of Arnay De Luc is quaint and undiscovered by tourists. It has a small chateau and medieval fort. Can highly recommend Cafe Nord in the town square and the patisserie across the road. Arnay De Luc has 3 very good supermarkets (Carrefour, Aldi and a bigger one). You will need a car to access all activities. Many chateau (Chateauneuf etc) nearby as well as bike riding along the Burgundy canal. A day trip to the Romans vs Gauls museum a highlight for the kids. Also went to the medieval town of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain (where Chocolat was filmed). We would LOVE to come here again!
