About this property

The Cottage - Dartmoor

Escape to the heart of the countryside and enjoy the views from The Cottage, a pretty stone barn, enjoy your morning coffee while the children play in the large garden.

The attractive barn conversion is in the grounds of the owner’s home with shared gardens in peaceful countryside on the edge of Dartmoor close to the River Dart, yet with easy access to the A38, the perfect bolt hole.

The local town of Ashburton has shops, delis, pubs and restaurants and close by you will find the towns of Totnes and seaside town of Paignton. Further afield there are many local attractions to visit such as Dartmoor Zoo, Woodlands Theme Park, Plymouth’s National Marine Aquarium and Barbican, or the cathedral city of Exeter. Explore nearby Dartmoor National Park or try your hand at canoeing, high ropes and fishing all available locally. Experience what South Devon has to offer such as hidden coves and beaches, fantastic sailing waters and cliff top walks.

Enter the cottage through the front door into the kitchen/diner, where you will find there’s two steps up to the lounge. Back in the well-equipped kitchen you will find an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine. There is also a table seating four where you can enjoy a lazy family breakfast or a light supper. The lounge has two comfy sofas and a TV/DVD. From one of the windows you can enjoy views of the garden and countryside beyond. From the lounge head upstairs to the two bedrooms. The master bedroom is a good sized double with Juliet balcony, exposed beams and the second is a bunk bedroom with a Velux window. The bedrooms share an en-suite Jack and Jill style bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Stepping outside there is a large shared enclosed garden with outside seating, where you can take in the countryside views. Enjoy a spot of al fresco dining, or simply relax with a glass of wine while the children play safely as there are secure electric gates at the entrance. There is private off-road parking available for two cars and also storage for bikes and sports equipment.

Hello, we would love to welcome you to Ashburton, a fantastic base to explore the South West. We are a family of four and have been holiday letting our cottage for the last 6 years. If you have any questions we are always on hand to help. We love to travel ourselves and have tried to think of everything that someone away from home would need.

Why they chose this property

The cottage is a home away from home, equipped with all the essentials to make you feel comfortable. With spectacular views of the English countryside the cottage is located in a convenient rural location the cottage is only a 15 minute walk to Ashburton town centre. Located a couple of minutes off the A38 means that it is very accessible for exploring Devon and Cornwall with ease.

What makes this property unique

We have had consistently excellent feedback from our guests who love our beautiful spacious garden, views, local restaurants and local beaches.
