Gem of a house within short walk to beach

We absolutely loved our stay at this vacation house, situated on a quiet cul-de-sac with other beautiful homes. It had a beautiful, open design with plenty of room for our group of 6. The beach was about a 5 minute walk. After an afternoon there, it was refreshing to walk back and jump into our own private pool to cool off. The fabulous kitchen was well stocked for cooking and very clean, as well as the bathrooms. We liked the location of this house, just to the west of Alys Beach. The service from the property management was excellent, as the only thing we needed was a new propane tank for the grill which was delivered quickly. If we could only give one suggestion, it would be to give the entry to the house under the porch roof a good spray or wipe down, since it is the first thing you see at the property when arriving. All in all, a wonderful place to vacation. We would definitely stay here again!

The property was ok. The pool had algae growing in it and the deck furniture was covered in mold. There was no net available to clean the pool. The filter on the heat and A/C unit was absolutely filthy and we had to replace the filter. The front of the house (entryway) looked like it hadn't been cleaned in several years. The inside of the house was very clean.

Beach house

Wonderful location! We stayed during peak season and the private beach was not crowded. The house had plenty of room for our family of seven- 4 adults and 3 children ages 13,10 & 7. Short walk to beach access but missed it first time- sign hidden behind shrubs. We loved this house and location. We would stay here again. *Just one negative - the required pool alarm is annoying but can be silenced after opening the door.

Cookie crumb bugs

For the most part we enjoyed the stay. There for a Bachelorette trip. We're all 30+ in age so we wanted relaxing and thats exactly what we got, until we found bugs. I contacted the property manager and was told they would send someone ASAP. We happened to be on the beach when they came to inspect and was told what we seen was "cookie crumbs", even though there was a dead one on a piece of paper we left. They refused to come back out while one of us was there at the house. The pool filter was also clogged. Location was great though.

This property is overall nice and I would recommend. The location to the beach is close and we never had any issues finding space on the beach. The house has great space in all rooms and the pool was nice. The house is in between Rosemary Beach and The Hub, so riding bikes and/or walking either way was easy. My family and I just feel that the home needs some tender loving care. The queen bedroom mattress and bed frame needs to be replaced, and under the bed needs to be cleaned. My son slept on it, but he’s 20 and not too particular. The dryer wasn’t drying, which we noticed around 10pm the second night. My husband had to clean out the main dryer vent. It was very loaded with debris. On the first night, we went up to eat on the top porch/deck, and we couldn’t. All the furniture had holes and was dry rotted. I notified the management immediately, but nothing was replaced all week but they did say that they notified the owner so maybe it will be replaced for future families. I feel if they would take care of a few simple items, it would be great.

Spring break with teenage crew

Chaperoned a group of high school seniors on spring break. Kids all had a good time. Pros- pool and fenced yard space is amazing. Kitchen area well stocked. The house was super clean. Communication with rental managers best ever - very responsive through the whole process. Cons- it's farther from the beach than 400 steps (like maybe 1/3 mile ish). Thankfully, the 4 bikes were helpful. But because our group was larger than 4, many had to walk. So, it limited our comings and goings to the beach. No pool towels, so bring your own. Back door alarm out to pool super annoying, but the rental company said it's a requirement for all rentals with pools in the area. Lots of home construction in the small neighborhood (house is at the end of a culdesac). It wasn't loud, just lots of activity with new home construction on the road. Overall a great stay! Recommend

Perfect rental

Could not have asked for a nicer place to take the family. We had 1 very minor maintenence issue and they showed up in less than 30 minutes. I would definitely choose this place again! Very clean, with a well stocked kitchen as far as cookware and utensils. Location was great. Overall a 10 on my scale!

Beautiful home, great for families, property management fell short

Ohhhh where to start. First, I will preface this by saying the home itself was gorgeous. It has a great layout, beautiful pool, and was nice and clean. Kudos to the home owner for providing such an amazing home with everything needed to have a nice family vacation. Where the wheels fell off was with the property management, Panhandle Getaways. We requested the pool heated at the start of our vacation, at the cost of $75/day…this was not done. The internet username and password they provided was not working. I reached out on both of these items upon arrival, only to be told to check the router, and that someone could come to the house the next morning. Nobody came, nobody checked back in. I continued to reach out, they continued to say someone would be in touch as their offices were very busy. At 3 days in, it became not only an inconvenience but an issue. In the grand scheme of things, yes, I’m aware these are both first world problems but we had people trying to also work remotely during our travels which they were unable to do due to the wifi issues. We also had 4 kids in the house and the pool was unusable due to the temperature. It was a complete disregard to the guest, and was really disappointing. Someone did finally reach out by phone two days before we departed, and indicated they heard from the owner that we had some concerns but implied that I must have misunderstood and they didn’t have any of the requests about pool heating on file, to which I offered to send screenshots showing my communication through VRBO prior to our stay. Overall, the stay could have been so much better, but this was at no fault of the owner and I truly feel horrible complaining about it. The truth is, the property management team left us, the guests, high and dry, and completely blown off, and fell short on what the home owner pays them to do. Going forward, I will not even consider a property managed by Panhandle Getaways. I am more than happy to provide screen shots of my texts, and VRBO inbox communication should that be needed.

it suited our needs well. I wish the pool had been more comfortable, as we had heater turned on after we felt how cold it was, and it still was uncomfortably cold. the pool person was called out also bc it was cloudy and cold- he commented also it was colder than it should be and he did a treatment on the pool. floors weren't as clean as I would like, but we did have a nice time. make sure to take salt and pepper! we took all we needed , but thought that salt and pepper would be there and it's a small thing, but was a pain in the butt. loved riding our bikes all around.

Great house! Some rotting needs to be repaired. Had to buy trash bags (2 given for 5 night stay), coffee filters, sugar, salt & pepper. Stars to beach hard maneuver with large coolers, wagon & baby. Never saw handicap accessible ramp. Would consider staying there again.

Good vacation

When we arrived the AC was struggling. They answered my call right away and had someone there quickly. All was fixed. Plenty of room for everyone and the house is nice and location is good. We loved everything. Only complaint was the pool - a bucket of cigarette butts was floating in the pool (assuming wind blew in) and the pool had not really been cleaned.

Walking on Sunshine

Overall we enjoyed our stay but it would have been nice to have a cooktop that worked and the pool was clean on our arrival. We had to call and have someone come out. There were no other issues with our stay although I think that for the money the property was not worth the price so I would not likely stay at this house in the future.

House ok, pool and pool area disgusting!!!!

The pool and pool area were very disappointing and just disgusting! Broken chair, algae all over the bottom of pool, used bandaid by pool, and dead frog in pool. Once they did send pool guy to clean(we were at the beach), he never left word for us not to get in. We had no idea he’d even been there. The chemicals were so strong, it caused our swimsuits to fade immediately and colors bled. Tarnished a silver David Truman ring I was wearing!!! They’re response to this is they couldn’t confirm it was the pool-just rude! I don’t advise staying at this property for what you fork out to pay for it!

Great property

Let me first say that the pool is the star of this property. My kids spent their entire trip mostly in the pool. The house is situated closest to Panama City. Very close to everything and right on 30A. Short little trek to the beach. There are a lot of stairs so I would recommend no carts unless you have men that can lift them. Really close to Publix grocery store and other food places and shops. The house was beau and had a very nice beach vibe. We stayed a week and it was lovely. There is a grill and patio set outside if you wanted to dine in. Everything was clean and fully stocked. Just a really great trip.

Great spot but if you have small kids keep these things in mind.

Check in was easy and the house is as described. The beach is close, but if you have small kids with you keep a couple things in mind: you definitely need a wagon or something to put them in to transport bc the littles are not making it, also, when you get to the public beach access, there is a very steep set of stairs to get to the beach. I never counted them, but most likely over one hundred stairs. Not only to you have to get small kids up and down these safely, you also have to get all of your stuff which can definitely be challenging. The house needs some improvements as well. The back door to the pool has an alarm but it is broken and the front door only locks with a key pad. The front door also has the type of bar handle that small kids can easily open and since there isn't a lock from the inside we had to barricade the door from the outside or a toddler could escape. Also, the pool was dirty and filled with former bachelorette party decorations when we arrived.

Think twice

I had a terrible experience from the moment we arrived. We were locked out of the house as the code we were provided was incorrect. Upon opening the door we saw the garbage disposal was removed and someone was working on the sink. The yard was a mess and the pool had glass on the bottom and beer caps in the grass. There was an odd odor to the house and we had to purchase Febreeze to clear the smell. The dishwasher broke on Wednesday and was not fixed until Friday afternoon. The house felt like it was not maintained well. The location to the beach was good. And the house could be a good rental if there was a different management company. I called every day with issues and was promised a call back. I NEVER received a call back from the management company while I was staying in the home. I only received one after I left. I would be very cautious renting this house as you won't get much help at all from the property managers.
