The most beautiful home in a peaceful village.

We were overjoyed with how lovely this home is, the perfect cottage overlooking a beautiful green field.

Nice little place, very clean. Comfy bed, great shower, good parking good heating and hot water. Just the sofa was really, really uncomfy, in need of replacing but no other issues

Another lovely stay in this quiet location

This is the third time we have stayed at Wheelwrights, but a different time of year. Cottage was lovely and warm, and a bag of logs and kindling was provided for the log burner which was nice. Everywhere was clean and well maintained, bedroom fantastically dark and was conducive to long lie ins which is just what we needed on this break. Only gripe is the lack of a pint of milk to make a drink on arrival, but as it was our third visit we came prepared. It would still be nice though and wouldn’t exactly break the bank.

Gorgeous conversion in peaceful location

Really enjoyed our weekend at Wheelwrights. The building has been very well designed and is beautifully appointed. Would have appreciated a cafetière for morning coffees, and a bit more generosity with logs and toilet rolls, but otherwise all good. Hope to book again for later in the year.

Great peaceful break

We really enjoyed our stay at Wheelwrights despite the horrendous weather (heavy rain & gales)! It would have been nice for some toilet roll & logs on arrival but luckily we’d picked some up at a garage on route. Bed was extremely comfy & great to have WiFi & Netflix which we weren’t expecting as wasn’t mentioned on web site. Cottage has everything you need for your self contained break. Some of the byways were a bit scary around the area but we sussed out the best roads back to the cottage fairly quickly. Good base to explore Norfolk. We were out to see different places every day & enjoyed seeing the seals at Horsey gap. Would definitely stay again

Wheelwrights

Stayed recently at Wheelwrights, decor is very modern and the accommodation was lovely and snug. Overall enjoyed our stay, Norfolk Hideaways were on hand to sort any issues straight away. The location is very idyllic but a bit too secluded for us, a car is a must. I'm sure there were plenty of walks close by but we struggled to work out the routes

A wonderfully cosy cottage

Our second stay in this lovely cottage, it’s very cosy and has all you would need. The bed is very comfortable and the room so dark with the blinds drawn that we rarely woke before 10.00! One very slight grumble is that on both occasions we’ve stayed there was nothing to greet us on arrival, by this I just mean a pint of milk really. It may of course have been due to covid but we have stayed in other cottages in 2020 & 21 which did provide a few bits, so, if possible, I would advise taking some or you can’t make a drink after your journey before you go shopping. But we’re already planning on returning so definitely not a reason to keep us away!

Wheelwrights Weekend

Stayed at Wheelwrights a couple of weekends back. Lovely setting & the barn was well thought out. There was an issue with the stairs which we were informed about prior to arrival with a temporary fix in place by the time we arrived. Couple of observations to make for a better experience in the main bedroom - mattress was dipping in the middle, no waste basket for your tissues/face wipes, a mirror on the wall in front of dressing table would be better than the small vanity mirror and a bedroom chair would be useful. Overall it was a lovely stay.

Wheelwright, Norfolk

This was an absolutely delightful find! Tucked away in the small hamlet of Sustead, off the beaten track, wheelwright proved to be the perfect getaway for us and our dog! The barn was decorated and furnished to the highest of standards and the enclosed courtyard was a great addition for the dog! You do need to have a car in order to get out and about to explore the surrounding countryside and beaches, of which there are many. Also bring the daily supplies you need, as the nearest shop is a good ten minute drive away. It worked so well for us, we had a super relaxing week, walking and chilling. And the barn added to this beautifully.

Lovely stay

We had a wonderful stay at Wheelwrights. It was in beautiful condition and very clean. It had a great layout for our two young children to enjoy and we definitely appreciated the stair gate! Due to Covid (not sure why as we are encouraged to still be hand washing a lot) it was lacking in all the supplies you get with a holiday cottage so we did have to buy handsoap, washing up liquid, sugar etc and missed out on the usual welcome basket with little treats. The check in and check out was also very reasonable as last year a cottage we stayed in had a check in of 7pm and check out of 9am. Having those extra hours made a big difference to our holiday experience. Overall, a lovely stay in a lovely village that was near to where we wanted to visit.

A very pretty barn conversion

A lovely cottage to stay in in this part of Norfolk. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and felt very peaceful and out of the way.

Enjoyable early summer sojourn.

A peaceful haven away from our Surrey home after months of lockdown. Not far from the pretty villages, towns and the lovely beaches of Norfolk.

Peace, perfect peace

If you want to escape the hustle of life, love the country this year is the place. Beautiful rural scenery, bursting hedgerows, swallow and swifts and house sparrows nesting. Nice walking and in easy access of Holt. The property has loads of character and is very comfortable.

Peaceful Hideaway

Wonderful holiday home. Set in a lovely quiet hamlet but within easy reach of coast. We went with our 3 year old son. He loved looking out of the velux window to see all the pheasants. The kitchen had everything you need. Lovely open plan living space with very comfy sofa. Great little garden to relax in. We will definitely be back!

A delight

We loved the little barn and found it such a pleasing place to stay in. We kept finding new clever things which had been done. It was very comfortable and very peaceful indeed and the information was all at hand. We are both very elderly and some of the modern equipment needs puzzling out. We know N.Norfolk well, loved the primrose banks and the newly ploughed fields... Sadly our families were very worried about us with the coronavirus and we decided to leave 2 days early to calm them down...I think back on Wheelwrights barn with sadness and wonder in these hard times! So sorry we did not manage to set the alarm when leaving-but I did tell you as soon as we got home. We wish all of you at Norfolk Hideaways all the very best! Stay safe.

Fantastic!!!

A beautiful property, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We had a fabulous stay. The only slight drawback is there’s no village pub.
