Traditional House With Pool And Great View!

Villa Gaia is a traditional stone built house, recently renovated (2008), located in a quiet area in the village Skouloufia, 18km away from Rethymno. The villa is built in one floor layout. On the exterior of the house, there is a big yard with a 25sqm swimming pool with sunchairs and umbrellas around it , a stone made barbecue and a garden. There is also a large veranda with a dining table covered by a pergola. The house has a spectacular view to the sea and the surrounding area, which the visitor can enjoy from the yard.
Ideally suitable for 5 people, there are three bedrooms in the Villa, all with view to the sea – one with double bed and terrace, one with semi-double bed and terrace and one with twin beds. A baby cot is also provided to the guests.
The house has a spacious dining and living room, traditionally decorated, with a fireplace and a smart satellite TV with a Blueray player and an open plan fully equipped kitchen. There is also one bathroom with W/C, and hydro massage bath.
All of the rooms are fully air conditioned. The combination of the air conditioning, the fireplace and the sun heating makes the house suitable for all the seasons of the year.
There are many villages with tavernas, mini markets and pharmacies nearby, as well as many historical sightseeing like the Arkadi monastery (8kms away) and the ancient Eleytherna (7kms away). The nearest beach is only 6 km away from the villa, in the village Stavromenos.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft

Die Gastgeber sind sehr aufgeschlossen und sympathisch. Von den An- und Abreisezeiten sind sie sehr flexibel. Hier ist eine spontane Änderung der Ankunft kein Problem. Das Haus an sich war sehr gepflegt und befindet sich in einer ruhigen Lage. Alles was man braucht ist vorhanden. Wir hatten einen schönen Urlaub und können die Unterkunft nur weiter empfehlen.

Villa Gaia

Very friendly welcome by the owner, with welcome local products and home cooked meal. Villa equipped with all we needed and very spacious for the two of us. Pool and garden well maintained. Garden / pool partially overlooked by nabouring villa, but otherwise very private and the other villa was not occupied the week we were there. Many welcoming local shops and taverners in the area, but not within walking distance. Also many local beaches and other places to visit within a 30 minuit drive.

Wounderfull view and exellent Services

Für uns, ein perfektes Haus. Ruhig gelegen, Blick auf das Meer. In den Bergen, perfekt zum radfahren. Das Haus toll ausgestattet, Klimaanlage, imsektenschutz vor allen Fenstern, gute Betten und optisch sehr schön und stylisch. Schöne Aussenanlage, Blumen, Kräuter, Terassen und Pool. Super Service der Gastgeber, gefüllter Kühlschrank, komplettes starter Menü für Tag 1 plus Getränke.

Our week in Crete

Lovely place to stay! Comfortable, clean, well kept property. Property manager was so welcoming and helpful. On arrival there was a full, prepared meal for us, as well as home made bread! Additionally, there were all essentials such as bottled water, milk, juice, butter, and jam for breakfast the next morning. Beds and linens were excellent, and plenty of towels for the bath and pool. Pool and landscaping were lovely, and surrounding area was very scenic. We had a great stay, and suggestion from the manager led us to a few fabulous restaurants, that we would never have found on our own. Highly recommend this property!!

A quiet, but warmly supported villa in the Rethymno hills

The owner/managers, Zacharias and Ioannis, are wonderful hosts! They met us on arrival and brought frequent treats. They are very accessible if you have any questions. The villa is very well located, in the hills above and a bit east of Rethymno, our favorite city on Crete. The villa is close to the new Eleutherna archeological museum, the Arkadi Monastery, numerous olive oil mills and wineries, and many enchanting villages. It is quiet, but only a few minutes away from restaurants and supermarkets in Stavromenos. The villa has a fully equipped kitchen, a washer (clothes dry on a portable rack), comfortable bedrooms. Interior finishes and exterior landscaping and hardscapes are excellent. We were here in November, and so didn't use the pool. The outside patio/dining area will be very inviting during the warmer months. The internet is reliable, although the signal might be on the weak side in the bedrooms. We would certainly return here on a future visit to Crete!

Schöne Tage

Wir hatten eine wunderbar erholsame Woche in der Villa Gaia. Ruhig gelegen in einem kleinem Dorf, aber mit einem Mietauto alles gut zu erreichen. Wir wurden von Zacharias herzlich empfangen, der Kühlschrank war sehr gut gefüllt und es gab gleich eine selbstgekochte leckere Mahlzeit. Wir haben uns hier wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt !

Perfect holiday home

Ein traumhafter Urlaub

Besser kann es nicht sein. Der Vermieter und seine Familie kümmern sich klasse und vor allem herzlich um alle Belange. Wir kamen Samstags erst nach 22 Uhr am Anreisetag an und wurden herzlich von Zacharias begrüßt. Es wurde uns alles gezeigt und erklärt. Die Überraschung schlechthin: die Mutti des Vermieters hatte uns was gekocht und einen Kuchen gebacken, sowie Kaffee, Milch, Brot, Saft, Butter und Marmelade fürs Frühstück am Sonntag standen bereit. Ebenso war reichlich Wasser da. Und die anderen Überraschungen waren einfach überragend. Wir haben die Ruhe dieser Villa sehr genossen. Der Pool hat eine wunderbare Größe und eine Außendusche ist auch da. Die Liegen und Schirme sind super und auch der Sitzbereich auf der Terrasse ist traumhaft. Der Ausblick bis zum Meer runter ist wunderbar. Auch die Zimmer sind super - an allen Fenstern gibt es Mückenschutzrollos. In der Küche ist alles da was man braucht....perfekt. In der Umgebung kann man viel unternehmen; ein Mietwagen ist allerdings notwendig. Fazit: Ein wunderbarer, sehr erholsamer und traumhafter Urlaub - wir haben es sehr genossen & wollen auf jeden Fall nochmal kommen. Große Kompliment an Zacharias und seine Familie!

Amazing experience at Crete

It has been an incredible stay. The house has all the amenities one needs and more to be comfortable. It's beautiful and has great views. It's within a short distance of some beautiful and warm beaches. The hosts are some of the best I've ever encountered, incredibly friendly and helpful, always attentive to anything we might need. They welcomed us with a breakfast that saved us since our flight arrived very early. The pool is perfect for the size of the house and allows for a peaceful day without the need to go out. They recommended places to eat that made a difference in our visit to the island. I definitely recommend them 100%. Thank you for contributing to make our vacation special.

Impressive

Our flight landed a very late on Sunday in Chania airport. We got into the car and drove 1.5 hours to the house. Night driving in Greece is special experience but all vent very smooth, GPS was doing great job in leading us, no mistakes. All shops and restaurants were closed due to late timing but luckily for us the owner of the house (Zack) has prepared amazing food and drinks for us to make sure that no one is left hungry in his house. The house and the owner (Zack) gave very positive impression, actually the house looks much better compared to the pictures. There are 3 sleeping rooms which are all equipped with the air conditioners. Living room is big enough and its combined with the kitchen which is also equipped with the aircon unit. Kitchen has all you need including dishwasher. It’s very easy to adapt to the house from inside and outside. Outside area is nicer and bigger compared to the pictures. Outside you get the parking place, swimming pool area, big table covered by the roof and the barbeque charcoal grill. During the stay we had no issues in this lovely house. Zack is very client minded person who was very supportive and helpful. Very good job by Zack and his team in maintaining this fantastic place. Thanks for positive atmosphere and good luck in the future.

Entspannter Urlaub in den Bergen Kretas

Wir haben die Zeit im Ferienhaus auf dem Land sehr genossen. Die Familie Katsirakis sind sehr gastfreundliche und zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Wir wurden kurz nach der Landung schon kontaktiert und mit Kuchen und einem vorbereiteten Abendessen empfangen. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet, der Pool an warmenTagen sehr angenehm. Wer im Urlaub Ruhe und ländliche Beschaulichkeit sucht, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Selbst bei der Organisation eines Besuchs der Samariaschlucht war unser Gastgeber behilflich-kurzum, wir können das Ferienhaus nur weiterempfehlen und uns bei Familie Katsirakis bedanken. Ein wirklich schöner Urlaub

Wir waren im April als Familie mit kleinen Kindern bei Zacharias im Haus. Wir werden sicher wieder kommen! Alles war sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Es sieht genauso aus, wie auf den Fotos. Unser Flug hatte sich verspätet und wir kamen erst am späten Abend an. Zacharias hat per Telefon kontakt mit uns gehalten, uns auch Abends noch persönlich begrüßt. Er hatte für uns warmes Essen bereit gestellt, weil wir zu keinem Supermarkt mehr kamen. Sogar das Frühstück für den nächsten Morgen war abgedeckt, eine Flasche Wein, ein Osterkuchen und ein 6er Pack Wasser stand bereit. Für unsere Kinder hatte er kleine Ostergeschenke. Wirklich super nett. Man hat sich komplett wohl gefühlt. Wir konnten Zacharias immer anschreiben oder anrufen, wenn wir fragen hatten. Das Haus liegt ein wenig abseits, man braucht definitiv einen Mietwagen. Die Fahrt zum Flughafen Heraklion dauert ca eine Stunde. Alle Zimmer haben eine Klimaanlage/Heizung. Wir waren 12 Tage vor Ort und das Haus wurde sogar einmal gereinigt. (auch hier wurden wir vorher informiert) Fazit: Wir kommen gerne wieder. Wir haben absolut nichts zu bemängeln.

Urlaub bei Freunden ❤️

Schönes Haus und perfekter Gastgeber

Das Haus ist wirklich schön und in einem guten Zustand. Jedes Zimmer hat eine Klimaanlage, die einzeln gesteuert wird. Alle Fenster haben Fliegengitter. Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet und funktional. Der Pool ist schön und hat den ganzen Tag Sonne. Es gibt fünf Liegen und zwei Sonnenschirme, durch die Hecken und das Haus bieten sich aber auch so immer schattige Plätze. Beheizt wird der Pool durch die Sonne, kann aber auch elektrisch zugeheizt werden (war bei uns nicht notwendig). Auf dem ganzen Grundstück gibt es Pflanzen, die bei uns schön geblüht haben. Im Haus gibt es nicht viel zu bemängeln, maximal die Dusche (in der Ecke der Badewanne positioniert und recht unpraktisch), die Türen quietschen und machen ziemlichen Krach und das Metallgestell des großen Doppelbettes quittiert auch jede Bewegung mit einem Geräusch. Das rechtfertigt aber in meinen Augen kaum einen Punkteabzug. Während unserer 10 Tage kam eine Putzfrau und hat einmal geeinigt und Bettwäsche sowie Handtücher getauscht. Was man aber unbedingt beachten sollte, ohne Auto geht gar nichts! Es gibt fußläufig kein Geschäft und kein Restaurant. Mit dem Auto ist aber alles in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Um einen herum sind nur noch ein paar andere Villen. Für uns war die Lage sehr gut, wir sind von hier nach Rethymno, Chania, Heraklion, den Stränden im Süden und zur Samaria-Schlucht gestartet. Positiv sind auch die beiden Brüder die sich um alles kümmern. Zacharias und Yannis sind immer erreichbar und antworten sehr schnell (englisch). Zur Begrüßung haben wir selbst gekochtes Essen, Kuchen, Brot, Wein, Olivenöl, Honig, Magarine, Kaffee, einen Obstteller, Wasser und sogar ein paar Bier bekommen. Für den ersten Abend und das Frühstück hätten wir gar nichts mehr benötigt. Zur Abreise war Yannis nochmal da und hat allen noch ein kleines Geschenk gegeben und sich verabschiedet. Tolles Haus, toller Gastgeber

Wir können uns all den vorherigen Bewertungen nur anschließen. Das Haus ist so wie beschrieben, alles sehr sauber (nach einer Woche kam sogar ein Putzteam zur Zwischenreinigung), wir wurden mit einem leckeren Essen und Grundverpflegung für den ersten Tag empfangen. Der Vermieter ist super nett und engagiert. Das Haus liegt außerhalb und doch zentral - man ist schnell an verschiedenen interessanten Orten der Insel. Jederzeit wieder!

Amazing house, wonderful host!

Vacation started with the owner who waited up until 2.30 am to receive us and hand over the keys (flight was delayed alot). He even had dinner ready for us! The house turned out to have absolutely everything you need for a holiday, the swimming pool was a good size for our 3 kids. Plenty of shade to sit in the warm temperatures, by closing the shutters and opening them in the evening we hardly have used the air-conditioning inside. In all, a very nice house, really friendly owner and a perfect holiday thanks to Zacharias! Strongly recommend for everyone!

Wundervoller Urlaub in tollem Ambiente

Wir verbrachten mit unserer 5 köpfigen Familie 2 Wochen in diesem Haus, welches wir uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen können. Obwohl wir sehr spät abends (Samstag 22:30) ankamen, wurden wir herzlichst empfangen. Zu unserer Überraschung und Freude hatte die Mutter des Vermieters für uns eine warme Mahlzeit zubereitet, die sicherlich zu den besten gehörte, die wir in unserem Urlaub genossen haben. Auch der Kühlschrank war bereits für den folgenden Sonntag gefüllt und einen leckeren selbstgebackenen Kuchen gab es auch. Das Haus ist in gut renoviertem, sehr sauberen Zustand. Alle Zimmer sind mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet und verfügen über Fliegengitter an den Fenstern. Es war alles vorhanden, was eine Familie im Urlaub benötigt - von der Waschmaschine bis zum WLAN. Der - nachts beleuchtete - Pool, umgeben von einer großzügigen Terassenfläche mit Liegestühlen für die ganze Familie, ist das Highlight des Gartens, der sehr geschmackvoll angelegt ist. Die Lage des Grundstücks war für uns sehr passend: ruhig in einer eher abgelegen Gegend, aber mit dem Auto nahe an der Hauptstrasse der Insel und auch nahe an Rethymno, der Stadt, die wir als die schönste der Insel wahrgenommen haben. Der Vermieter war für uns immer erreichbar und hat uns mit Rat (Restaurantempfehlungen) und Tat (Poolreinigung) unterstützt. Wir möchten uns ausdrücklich bei ihm für die aussergewöhnliche Gastfreundschaft bedanken.

Une semaine parfaite

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette vielle bâtisse rénovée avec soins. La piscine qui vient d être refaite est un vrai bonheur. Nous avons été merveilleusement accueillis avec des plats maison délicieux et un gâteau crétois excellent. La maison est parfait pour visiter les alentours et nous ne pouvons que l’a recommander.

Wir können uns den anderen positiven Bewertungen nur anschließen, das Haus und die Gegend waren super und der Gastgeber sehr engagiert und freundlich. Herausragend war die nicht selbstverständliche Grundversorgung mit den nötigsten Dingen, die man in anderen Ferienhäusern in der Fülle nicht findet. Um einiges zu nennen: Kaffee, Wasser, Geschirrspüler Tabs, ausreichend Klo und Küchenpapier, Pflaster, Waschmittel und vieles mehr. Auch das Begrüßungsessen und der Kuchen waren sehr nette Gesten über die wir uns sehr gefreut haben. Schade nur, dass kein Holz für den Kamin aufzutreiben war. Wir hätten gerne gezündelt.

The villa is built at the edge of a traditional village surrounded by olives, oaks and Cretan herbs.On the exterior of the villa there is a beautiful garden where is also the swimming pool which has a size of 25 sq m, with sun chairs and umbrellas around. Also a stone made barbecue and a nice veranda covered with a wooden pergola with beautiful views to the countryside The house is located in a very quiet place, which is still near the beach and the city of Rethymno, but also close to important sight seeings like the Arcadi Monastery and the ancient city of Eleytherna, and the museum of Ancient Eleytherna. Villa Gaia is ideal for families, couples and individuals who would like to feel the independence and the real Cretan village life.
