Top class apartment!
This newly renovated and re-furbished ski-in/ski-out apartment is not an ordinary rental one but our family winter home for several weeks per year. This is a 61 m2 bright luxury apartment on the 4th floor (at 2050 meters) of the Sources de Marie residence in Arc 1950. It is quietly located with a great view and a balcony facing the mountains, perfect for an al fresco lunch or a sunny afternoon after-ski. It has been our second home since 2005, fully renovated 2020-22 and refurbished into a cozy Alpine/Scandinavian style apartment with heated oak wood floors. A longside wall made of recycled wood from old alpine sheds. Handmade Swedish dining and coffee tables. Comfortable sofa bed, designer armchairs and cushions. Nicely decorated and with warm lighting – all with dimmers. Ambient tealight lanterns. 46” Smart-TV with streaming and with French, British, US and other channels. App for Netflix. Bluetooth enabled active hi-fi speaker so you can easily stream your music. Free private wi-fi. New fully equipped kitchen in natural ash and with all amenities. Quiet Bosch quality range of dishwasher, microwave, and oven. Induction cooktop. Traditional coffee machine, pod coffee maker, toaster, etc.
One bedroom with a double bed (Queen) , full workspace, and heated oak floors. A "masters” white marble clad bathroom with heated slate floors and an innovative combination of bath and shower. Second bedroom with twin beds, heated oak floors and a separate smaller workspace. Private shower-room with travertine clad walls, heated slate floors and wall-hung toilet. The bathrooms are equipped with towel dryers and hairdryers. This accommodation comfortably sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms. There is a possibility to accommodate 2 extra people in the living room on the double sofa bed or 1 extra child on an inflatable mattress in the main bedroom (both options need to be booked prior).
Please note our conditions/house rules: Strictly no smoking, no pets, no ski boots, no skis or boards in the apartment or balcony. 1 private ski locker is available immediately by entrance to the residence for the storage of your equipment. Ski boots, skis/boards and melting snow damages the hardwood floor.
Household linen, bathrobes, and towels etc. are provided for the bedrooms. Preparation of the apartment and cleaning at the end of your stay is included in the total rental price and performed by a professional company. However, we expect the kitchen to be cleaned, dishes finalized (or clean in the dishwasher) and all garbage and recyclables removed.
The apartment is located in the Sources de Marie building, where you can use the gym, sauna and outdoor heated pool for free. In addition, you will find the wonderful Deep Nature Spa in the building (entrance fee) which, in addition to a delicious pool, Jacuzzis, various types of saunas, also offers a range of body treatments. Free shared laundry and tumble drying machines on the floor below the apartment. Iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner in the apartment.
Village and ski system
Arc 1950 is a well-designed picturesque pedestrian only village which is truly ski in ski out. Les Arcs consist of the four resort areas Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, and Arc 2000. They are linked to La Plagne via the double decker Vanoise Express cable car which gives access to La Plagne to form the second largest linked ski system in the world – Paradiski. More than 425 km of pistes and two glaciers. It serves beginners as well as expert skiers and has a range of “safe” off-piste to really challenging back-country. Most of the ski area is above 2000 meters which makes it very snow safe.
The village has a well-stocked Carrefour market, bakery and as well as a good selection of bars and restaurants, ski-school, ski and clothes shops, etc. There is an entertainment program each week and lots of free activities for children. Arc 1950 has a direct connection (also in the evenings) to Arc 2000 where you find additional bars, night club, restaurants, shops, and bowling.
Access
Les Arcs is within easy reach from major airports such as Geneva, Chambery, and Lyon. From there you can access the village by bus, coach, car or private taxi. If you are arriving to any of the mentioned airports and are a party of 4 or more, consider a rental car instead of coach/bus as it tends to be cheaper. If you choose to drive, there is a secure underground parking at €119 per week. With your own car you can also easily access the mega resorts Val Thorens/Courchevel, Val d’Isère /Tignes or smaller Ste Foy and La Rosière (where you can ski into Italy and La Thuile).
Weekly train services from Paris and other French resorts to the nearby Bourg-Saint-Maurice station. From there, take the free funicular train up to ARC 1600 and then the local bus - also free of charge
Please note that bookings are Saturday to Saturday here in Les Arcs and all logistics in the village are built around that.
