Good base for exploring Aberdeenshire, Deeside and upto the Cairngorms.
Ours was a flying visit, mainly to visit relatives in Aberdeen. We found the property homely and spacious, with just about everything you could need home from home. Within half an hour there are fabulous beaches for swimming, paddle boarding, shell hunting, sandcastle building, bird watching and cliff top walking - we sardined this into a day, including a visit to the cliff bottom village Pennan as seen in the film 'Local Hero' (for those of an age to remember a very young Peter Capaldi), another seaside spot well worth a visit. A very small minor point to mention is the proximity of the property to a main road - it is a fast road and we found it quite noisy coming from a rural village.
The place is easy to find. Well situated although you are close to the road while opening the gates.
We found an Esso garage in nearby Fraserburgh that sells coal and wood, this was a boon as it was snowing during our stay and it kept the living room toasty.
The cottage is very well equipped, the bedrooms are great and it has a large kitchen/dining room.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break.
