This wonderful, semi-detached cottage, formerly the old railway station, is situated just outside the village of Garlieston, and makes the perfect base for couples or small families to escape with stunning countryside views. Attractive walks for all ages and abilities can be found right on the door step, perfect for lovers of the great outdoors.
Take a walk along the beach or head into the woodland garden and arboretum of Galloway House Gardens, famous for its spring display of azaleas and rhododendrons. Situated close to The Galloway Forest Park, Britain’s largest forest park, with 300² miles of wild beauty waiting to be explored. The park boasts tranquil valleys, rugged rock faces, forest, moorland, lochs and ancient woodland, home to a plethora of wildlife including red and roe deer, wild goats and many birds of prey.
Golf and fishing can be found within easy reach, as are the Galloway Hills and the world class 7 Stanes mountain bike trails. Wigtown, known as Scotland’s ’book town’, Whithorn and the harbour villages of Isle of Whithorn and Port William are all close by and make for wonderful days out with your loved ones. There is also an authentic Italian restaurant in the next village, 1 mile away. Alternatively, the Craft Gin Distillery and the Bladnoch Distillery, both at Newton Stewart, are within easy reach.
