About this property

Forge is a large country house set in impressive grounds of over 100 acres of landscaped park, woodlands, and lakes. The house includes a large beamed banqueting hall with a table that seats 20-24 people, a music room, a games room with a pool table, heated indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a large library with wood burning stove, a sitting room with large open fire, 2 kitchens, 2 smaller dining rooms, 11 bedrooms (6 of which are ensuite) and 8 bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor and has 2 king size beds and another pull out double sofa bed. This luxurious house has 1,100 square meters of space to enjoy.

Outside there is a large terrace situated just past the library doors that overlooks the ponds and woodlands. There is also a shaded terraces perfect for eating outdoors. The indoor pool has a hot tub just outside of it which has views looking out to the Greek temple and the roman temple. This is a perfect place to gaze at the stars in the evening.

The grounds have many unique spaces to sit and enjoy the wildlife, there is a Zen garden complete with small Asian temple, an Octagonal outdoor room, the Greek temple and the Roman temple plus a truly unusual bunker under a mound topped with a table and chair to enjoy the view. There is an orchard and a few enclosed formal gardens plus a variety of sculptures around the grounds.

There is wildlife everywhere, you will find a variety of birds, wild boar, deer, hares, pine martins, fish, red squirrels, bats, frogs, lizards and many different insects.

The house has everything you need for a relaxing holiday including dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. There will also be a stack of wood ready for you to build a comforting fire if the weather is a little chilly.

We live on site with two cats and a dog. We also have ducks and chickens. We are available to deal with any questions that you might have about such a large house and to ensure you have a fabulous holiday, but we are very happy to stay out of the way and let you enjoy the space.

Superbe propriété

Notre famille (16 personnes, 4 générations, 2 à 92 ans) a passé deux semaines très agréables dans cette belle et grande propriété en dehors des zones de vacances les plus recherchées. Il y a donc peu de touristes, peu de circulation, c'est très reposant. La propriété elle-même est belle. Beaucoup d'espaces communs (16 canapés, chacun le sien!), chambres confortables, et une immense bibliothèque. En 20 ans de locations, nous n'avons jamais eu une salle à manger aussi spacieuse. Tout était en ordre et les hôtes sont sympa, discrets et attentifs. La piscine couverte a de grandes fenêtres coulissantes qui vous donnent l'impression d'être dehors. On recommande chaudement la boulangerie Damien Guenot (tout ce qu'il faut pour un excellent petit déjeuner français) et le marché à Montmorillon; la location de vélos à Cycle et Sport (LeBlanc) et la visite de l'abbaye de de Saint-Savin.

Temps ensoleillé, toute la famille a aimé se retrouver dans cette belle demeure de 10 chambres spacieuses et 8 salles d'eau, avec les 2 cuisines et la piscine pendant 3 jours. Seul SOUCI : chaudière en panne pour chauffage et eau chaude pour 1 cuisine, 5 douches en chambres. Dédommagement obtenu sur le prix.

Vaste maison entourée d'un parc magnifique

Excellent we de l'ascension en famille 8 adultes et 8 enfants en pleine nature. Très agréables et grands espaces de vie à l'intérieur et dans l'immense parc avec beaucoup d'activités pour tous. L'accueil des propriétaires est très chaleureux et nous avons été petits et grands sous le charme de cette propriété hors du commun.

Un temps hors du temps entre amis

Nous avons réservé ce lieu pour des vacances entre amis. Sabina et Andrew sont des hôtes adorables et nous avons passé un séjour joyeux dans ce grand espace de nature et cette ferme rénovée et chaleureuse. Parfait pour des vacances au calme tout en trouvant chacun sur place une activité pour chaque envie du moment !

Lieu exceptionnel avec de l'espace et un parc grandiose

Nous étions 20 personnes (10 grands enfants et 10 adultes), de l'espace et des chambres pour tous sans contrainte. Des salles de jeux très biens fournies, 2 cuisines et buanderies sur-équipées. Le parc qui entoure la propriété est absolument incroyable et offre des possibilités de jeux pour tous. L'accueil et les communications avec les propriétaires sont simples, fluides et sympathiques.

We are originally from the UK but now live in this beautiful property in France. We love being surrounded by nature and being able to walk straight out of our door and into our parkland and lakes. We live peacefully with our two cats, dog, chickens, ducks and geese. We love welcoming people here to be with their friends and loved ones in this amazing place.

Why they chose this property

We are not in a village but we are 5 minutes drive from one where you will find a boulangerie, convenience store, doctors, cinema, two cafes, gift shop and hairdressers. We are surrounded by beautiful villages and not far from the two big towns of Limoges and Poitiers.

What makes this property unique

Many of our guests have said that they have never seen a place like Forge before. It is the size of a small village with everything you could want to have a relaxing stay. Indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, music room, library, big dining hall, two kitchens and plenty of outdoor space.
