Offering our fully renovated family home with private, lakefront access on the lovely, quiet and relaxing Pines Lake in Locust Lake Village Community. Private outdoor shower.

A large and inviting deck provides ample space to enjoy your morning coffee and abundant wildlife, dine with family and friends, or relax on the outdoor sectional couch. A wooded pathway leads from the house to our private lakefront. In the Summer, two boats are waiting for you - a fishing boat and a canoe - along with two paddle boards. Fishing rods and life preservers are in the little red shed. We have a grassy clearing on the lakefront, which is perfect for gathering around the fire pit for s'mores and the fantastic sunset show every night. The grassy area slopes directly into the lake, with a sandy entranceway for easy entrance to the water. In the Winter, ice skating, sledding and skiing are available in the community. There are several nearby ski slopes, indoor waterparks and family attractions (see below).

Back at the house, in addition to the main living area, there is an additional living area / game room on the ground level with couches, TV and games, and a combo air hockey/pool/ping pong table (a great spot for the kids). Also on that level we have a laundry room with full washer and dryer. On the second floor / main level we have the kitchen and living room, 2 bedrooms and a full bath. On the third floor we have 1 more bedroom with a queen bed, a flex room with a queen bed, a full bath and a loft with a sleeper sofa (queen). All bedrooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals away from home, including appliances (coffee maker - drip and Keurig, toaster, Ninja blender, crock pot, waffle maker), spices and cooking oils, coffee, tea, some condiments, and starter paper products. There are grocery stores 3 miles away including ALDI, as well as a WaWa, CVS, Dunkin' Donuts, Dollar General. There are a few restaurants and pizza spots within a few miles. Our location is a perfect blend of remote living with nearby conveniences. We have Wifi, TV with DVD / Bluray player which enables you to use Netflix and Amazon Prime, Firestick, Roku, and many DVDs for both adults and children.

The beautiful Pines Lake beach area is a short walk - 5 houses away. It is a lifeguard beach with a playground, picnic area, snack bar, restrooms and BBQ available for your use. The community has two other beaches, tennis courts, sport fields and basketball courts, a ski slope, and a sledding hill. There is so much to do in this area! The indoor waterparks are a hit with the kids: Great Wolf Lodge, Aquatopia at Camelback, Kalahari, and H20 at Lake Harmony. Ski Slopes: Jack Frost/ Big Boulder, Camelback, Shawnee. They have snow tubing at night as well. Outdoor activities: white water rafting, hiking, biking, paint balling, horseback riding. Girls' Weekends: Wineries, outlet shopping...

This is our family vacation home and it is very special to us. We spent months renovating it with new floors, carpeting, painting throughout, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, all new furniture, mattresses and bedding. We installed air conditioning, new heating units, a new gas fireplace, and updated both bathrooms. It's ready for your enjoyment!

We had an amazing time at Lauren's home!!

This was the perfect getaway trip. We sat for hours by the lake and around the campfire, and couldn't have asked for a better host. Lauren was quick to respond to all of my questions, and the check-in/check-out process was seamless. Thank you Lauren for letting us stay at your home. Hope to visit again soon :)

July Vacation

House was great. The lake was fantastic! Everyone enjoyed having all the extras provided by the homeowner; paddle boards, boat, etc…Community was nice. Kids went to arts and crafts and played (won) bingo. We would definitely stay here again. VRBO fees are too high, not the fault of the homeowners. Only suggestion, trim back branches to have a better view of the lake.

The perfect vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay here! 7 of us stayed here, and there was plenty of the room. The house was incredibly clean, and it is obvious the owners take great care of their home. They had all the cooking utensils and basics we needed, and the grocery store is not far from the house. Down by the lake, they had a great firepit, which we used several times, and they provided a canoe, 2 paddle boards, a fishing boat, and all the life vests we would need. They provided fishing tackle as well, though we brought our own. We caught 4 huge bass one evening using the fishing boat. They were huge! The local beach, which is a very short walk down the street, provided all sorts of fun. They have an inflatable structure the kids swam to and spent hours on. The lifeguards were all extremely friendly. Ice cream night there was also a big hit. We were able to rent a kayak from the beach as well. The house was quite comfortable, and everything was convenient. The air conditioning worked great. The game room was fun. The gas grill was conveniently located on the deck. The owner is incredibly thoughtful. She communicated everything clearly, and she even left us a welcome gift. Nearby, we enjoyed miniature golf, and we went to Camel Beach for a day of water rides. The Pocono Boat House was right nearby, and we were able to buy our bait there. Having the house right on the lake was the real benefit. The kids swam, we fished, and we enjoyed all the sunsets. It was the perfect getaway!

Perfect Lakefront Vacation Home

We just returned from our first stay at Lauren’s beautiful lakefront home and it will not be our last. My husband and I invited our daughters, son-in-laws and three grandchildren ages 3, 1 and 7 months to join us for a week in the Poconos. It was a first time for all of us. I spent a lot of time searching for just the right place – we wanted to be centrally located for the things we wanted to do (see recommendations below), lakefront for fishing/sunsets/campfires/hanging out, 4 bedrooms and 2 baths (this home also has a super comfortable sleep sofas in both the loft and game room if you need more beds), clean (A+), and a beach available for swimming (which is just a short walk!). We got it ALL and more… IT WAS PERFECT... the little kids (and us big kids) had so much fun! Lauren was so helpful with all my questions before hand. She even checked in with us when we arrived and answered questions we had while there. Lauren, we loved your welcome gift! The house itself is beautiful and has everything we could need. We used the linen service which was very affordable. The sheets weren’t as soft as ones from home but everyone agreed if was a treat not to have to pack them. Lauren provides plenty of bath towels. We ate most meals on the large deck. We caught lots of bluegill and perch right from shore. A local fisherman said that the area just to the left of the property is a hot spot - we watched his son reel in a 3.7 lb. large mouth bass there. We loved having use of paddle boards. The beach was very close and Lauren provides guests passes for everyone. It was quiet and peaceful both day and night. We recommend: Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe, the Arcade (including black light mini golf) at Kalahari, Dominic Pizza, Snake and Animal Farm (small but fun), Family Steak Night at Barley Creek Brewery (where we played Pickle Ball, Corn Hole and Softball after dinner), and both Jack Frost and Split Rock Golf courses. Locust Lake Village offers many fun, family events through the week. We absolutely loved our stay at "Lakefront Paradise!" Thanks, Lauren, for sharing your home with us. Great memories for all!

Perfect Family Vacation

Our cruise got cancelled and Jersey Shore was too crowded. My wife, 3 daughters (ages 10-13) and I decided to try the Poconos for the first time. We absolutely lucked out renting from Lauren in Locust Lake Village. The house was perfect with great attention to detail. The house is right on the lake! So peaceful. Coffee every morning on the deck that overlooked the lake- or on the private dock on the lake. Grilling every night (except for hotdog firepit night). Days were filled with fishing, boating, paddle boarding, swimming at the beach and activities thru out the community. The beach is a 1 minute walk OR we could paddle board/ boat from our dock to the beach and there is a boat "parking lot". Beach is perfect for kids. There are life guards and the water is clean and invigorating. No huge crowds and no big waves to worry about like at the ocean. Also- loved the outdoor shower at the house. We can't wait to experience this house in different seasons. The trees are beautiful and i bet the fall is breathtaking. Thanks Lauren for opening up your home to us to experience this little slice of heaven.... Sincerely, The Lankin Family

Perfect getaway

Perfect Poconos location for a relaxing and fun family vacation. The house is nestled in the woods, with the lake a 30 second walk down a well-lit path. The private lakefront area with new dock is perfect for fishing, watching the sunset and nightly fire. The owners provide so many extras that you don't need to leave the property. Paddle boards, rowboat, canoe, game room with air hockey and pool, many games, and several areas (front lawn, backyard and driveway area) for outdoor recreation. Even though you don't need to leave, the sand beach of Pine Lake is a quick walk down the street. The house itself is well-appointed with thoughtful touches throughout. Plenty of room for a family of 5 and 2 grandparents quaranteaming. The owner was super responsive to any questions or issues we had. Best VRBO we've rented.

A great stay!

First let me say that this is our 3rd Pocono rental and we have rented elsewhere before that, this was by far the cleanest rental we have ever been to. Even the deck was swept and not a cobweb to be found. We loved the house, down to the decor. The kitchen would feel a little tight once we got dinner on the table for the kids but were still cooking for the adults. Not much cabinet space for our food but Lauren's baskets helped us stay organized and we had all we needed in terms of plates/utensils, etc.,as well as basic cooking supplies. The fridge was deep so no problems fitting all of our cold goods. We made daily use of the paddle boards provided and also brought kayaks from home. Very easy entry off the dock. We enjoyed the sunset views from the middle of the lake every evening, though you would get the full view from the dock/back yard if you preferred. The kids liked to ride their bikes around or walk to the beach when they were not using water toys. We sat by the firepit each night and enjoyed the quiet. On a rainy day we took a trip to Kalahari Water Park and also hiked one morning at Hickory Run State Park, both in close proximity. The guys golfed one day at Split Rock and loved it. If rain kept us from having a fire at night, we played games in the basement where there was an option for pool or air hockey. Again, I can't emphasize enough how clean this place was, even down there! Lauren checked in shortly after our arrival to see if all was well and she was reachable via text if we needed her. Community check in was quick and easy and the staff was very friendly. Neighbors were very friendly. We had a great vacation! Traveled with 4 adults, 4 children.

About the host

Hosted by Lauren

Host profile image
We live in Philadelphia and wanted to create mountain memories for our children. We bought this home in December 2016 and have been renovating it ever since. Now it is our favorite place to be! We hope you will enjoy it and take care of it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

We previously vacationed in the Poconos area and loved the surroundings and the proximity to Philadelphia. We want our children to grow up learning more about the outdoors, skiing, fishing, etc. We fell in love with this house as soon as we walked outside and saw the wooded area and the lakefront access. The interior needed a lot of work, but the outside made it all worth it!

What makes this property unique

The home has some interesting history. It was owned by three Catholic priests from Philadelphia who shared it for fishing and communing with nature. Although many of their personal religious effects have been removed, you may notice painted Roman numerals on some of the trees. It is a walking "Stations of the Cross." It's fair to say the property has been blessed!
