Situated on the 16th fairway with views of the green, you'll not miss a thing. The incredible views from the upper 30' long deck are perfect for golf gazers and sun bathers alike. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed, walk in closet and fire place. The master bath has a tub and separate shower. The guest room is furnished with twin beds, walk in closet and guest bath with a tub/shower. The loft privately accommodates two in a double bed. ALL new mattresses!! A queen air mattress is also provided. Comfortably sleeping 6 people, wake up to a wonderful day looking out the huge sliding doors from each bedroom and living space opening onto the deck. The living room is furnished with couches and an entertainment center for your enjoyment. The kitchen is perfect for dining as it is equipped with a gas stove, oven, full refrigerator, microwave and dish washer. The property is just minutes away from all of Newland's best attractions, and guests are sure to get a true North Carolina experience.

Wonderful location

We enjoyed our trip to this mountain house. This was our second stay. The view and location are excellent. The neighbors are friendly. Love the updated bathrooms. Hope to return again.

Our NC home away from FL home!

Always enjoy staying here. Have stayed several times and it has became our home away from home (for our annual sister trip!). The hosts are wonderful as is the house. Highly recommend!!

We loves the housw it was comfy andveey clean.the only bad thing was lighting which if you stayed inspring ir sunmer wouldnot be a problem because of the buetiful sliding doors in front.

I hope you don’t like beautiful views of the golf course from the deck on crisp cool mornings. If Jennifer weren’t so nice, I would tell you that it is too quiet, the birds sing too loudly, or the views are too distracting. Just let me get my dates for my next trip booked first!

Awesome Home on Golf Course

Four of us come up from Florida to play Golf for a week every year and we have stayed here several times. Nice home on the 16th hole with a great view of the green. Great location in Newland and it is easy to get to the other courses in the area. Definitely our favorite and will stay here every year if available.

Feel at home for a bargain price!

While this is obviously an older home, it was meticulously clean and perfect for our group. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were nicely sized, and the views were beautiful! The kitchen hear older appliances, but it was well appointed with everything we needed! We would definitely stay here again, and we hope to soon!

So nice...we stayed twice!

Staying at this property on the 16th green was exactly what we were looking for. With a perfectly manicured view and friendly community, we really couldn't have asked for more. The BEST place to stay! It's like home!!!

Very clean! Jennifer was wonderful! She goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect and like home!! My sister and I will be renting again for next year's NASCAR race!! Awesome place for your anniversary, too....or a great family getaway! You can't find a cleaner place for the price! And why would you want to! Five stars all the way....and then some! Beautiful home!

My family and I stayed in this home Thanksgiving weekend and had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and we loved everything about it. It had everything that we needed to cook with and so much more! The views were beautiful! This home is convenient to the grocery store and many other places. Great mountain home on the golf course

We had a great stay at this house. It was the perfect size for the three of us. The house is kid friendly. It is close to restaurants and a grocery store. We had a wonderful time exploring the area. We took our 2 year old son to Tweetsie Railroad. He had a blast and it is only about 45 mins away. We took the blue ridge parkway there and enjoyed the beautiful views of the fall leaves. There is a waterfall right down the street from the golf course. You can see it all from the parking area and is a short easy walk up to the top. My husband enjoyed playing a round at the golf course. This is a very nice house that is close to many things. We had a great time and would stay here again.

Good location and pretty view

I stayed here while attending a family reunion weekend nearby. I needed a full-size kitchen for food prep and a location that was convenient to the events. I had my husband and 2 young adult children with me, and we were comfortable in this house. The house is vintage 70's, but maintained fairly well. We did have problems with some of the outlets not working and could not figure out how to open the trash compactor, but we used a garbage bag instead (didn't see a trashcan for the kitchen). The dishwasher, refrigerator, and W/D were newer and worked great. Also, the house's WiFi worked well which is difficult in the mountains. The driveway is very steep, so we opted to park in a grassy pullout by the road and take the steps leading to the house. This would be a problem for someone who couldn't do steps. We would rent this house again and appreciate the owner's quick responses to our questions.

Great House and Great Location

We enjoyed staying at this lovely home located on the 16th hole of the golf course in Newland NC. It was the first time i rented a home from VRBO. The house was very clean and most comfortable. The home was well furnished and the kitchen was well supplied so that you could cook your favorite meal. After a long day of hiking it was wonderful to come home to where you feel comfort and could just relax. The morning views from the deck were so surreal. The fog, the peacefulness and the the quietness make for a beautiful start to your day.. The home is within quick distance to Roan Mountain, Lnvalle Falls and Grand Father Mountain. Jennifer and Elizabeth were so pleasant and they make you feel just like family.

Pictured above are 5 of the 6 children we now have between my sister and I. Ranging from 2-10, these babies keep us busy. We live in Raleigh and Garner, 20 minutes apart and the kids are very close. They love going to the mountains together.

Why they chose this property

Doc and Katherine Broughton built this house in 1974. Both avid golfers, this was their summer home, "The Answer" to a peaceful marriage. Doc also loved outdoors, hunting and hiking. The locals became his friends and they both enjoyed a lifetime of going to the mountains. As my sister and I have grown to raise our own families, we enjoy the memories made in this home, especially with our dad. He loved opening the windows and doors, taking in the fresh air and playing golf. Both of us have three kids, busy families and wish we would take time to appreciate "The Answer". Please make yourselves at home and bring life to the house!
