My family and friends had a wonderful time staying at Sylvia’s place. The house was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. Two rooms had doors and were private; the loft upstairs was a semi-private space, with no solid wall separating it from the living room. The house had a fully equipped kitchen and a nice area outside, with a grill, lounge chairs and a folding sun umbrella. It was a walking distance from a quiet bay-side beach.
What another great family vacation this was! Amazing view, enough space for the family, and PEACE AND QUIET at the end of a very secluded road. Sylvia made the check in process very easy and also responded within minutes whenever we had questions about anything. The house is a little on the older side and the furniture is a bit outdated/needing replacement soon, but appliances are all updated and the kitchen is stocked with all of the utensils & cookware that one would need. Overall, Sylvia was a great host and my family and I would definitely stay here again!
We had a lovely week at Sylvia's house! Our family felt right at home and we made so many great memories with our kids. They loved all the games and books and playing catch in the big driveway. It's a great location on a super quiet private drive, very close to beaches, P-town and Wellfleet. The view is even more beautiful than the pictures show, and we had our coffee outside in the mornings enjoying the fresh air. After a day at the beach we'd wash the kids outside in the outdoor shower and we made use of the stocked kitchen to make meals. If you want to feel like a local this is your spot, it feels like a cool old house that's been in the family for years and we felt instantly at ease. We kept the windows open and the fans on during the cool hours and it was comfortable in the mornings and evening to sleep. (There is no a/c so if you plan to be in the house during the middle of the day in mid-summer it could get warm.) Sylvia was communicative and helpful when we had questions. We would definitely rent here again!
Interesting house with eclectic furnishings and an old Steinway piano. Great kitchen and beautiful view especially at sunset. Enjoyed openness of living room. Bedrooms are small but the house was very bright and airy. Walking to a bay beach was an easy walk.
Lovely home with lovely views of the bay. Our multi generational family had a wonderful time, the house invites lots of good conversation and play. Piano was really fun! Sylvia is quick to respond and wants people to have a great time.
This Truro home is set in a lovely garden landscape with amazing views of the ocean and Provincetown in the distance. The house is very comfortable and beautifully laid out, and it has an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen. Charming markets and beautiful beaches and ponds are just minutes away, while the house and property offer complete peace and tranquility. The host, Sylvia, could not have been more helpful and accessible, and we would gladly rent from her again. This place is a gem!
Sylvia was such a gracious host, incredibly responsive and easy to work with. The house was the perfect size for our family, very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and relatively new Weber gas grill that we enjoyed using. While in a very peaceful location, you are close to Truro center, Wellfleet and Provincetown a short drive away as well. So much to see and do in the area.. and the Truro beaches are amongst the best on the Cape. I'd highly recommend the property, thanks again Sylvia.
We vacationed with our three small children- ages 6, 3, and 1. The cottage worked great for us! The location of the cottage is private and quiet. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We especially enjoyed the modern kitchen. The views of the water during the day and lights of North Truro and Provincetown at night from the backyard and loft bedroom were fabulous and we enjoyed the cool breezes through the numerous windows of the cottage. We walked down to Fisher Beach one day and also took advantage of staying in Truro and purchased a Truro beach parking permit for the week to enjoy the many other beautiful Truro beaches. Sylvia was very responsive and helpful. It was our first vacation to Cape Cod and we can't wait to go back!

Sublime property
This wonderful home was perfect for our family. It feels very private, with a wonderful view over marshes to the bay. We felt very at-home with the tasteful and interesting furniture, artwork, and books. The space was well designed, with spacious dining and living areas where we could all relax comfortably together, while the bedrooms and loft provided privacy. The house is well appointed with all the linens and kitchen equipment one could wish for.

Serene, lovely home in great location.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It's very peaceful amidst a beautiful, natural setting with a view of the bay in the distance. The house is quaint and has a nice variety of interesting furnishings and artwork. The kitchen was relatively modern with plenty of good equipment, dishware, etc. There are lots of nice windows for fresh air and breezes. Bedrooms allow for a decent amount of privacy and convenience, with the exception of the loft which although slightly less private, is nonetheless a nice room with plenty of space. The location is excellent with relatively easy access to beaches and towns. Sylvia was very kind, communicative and available to us if necessary. We would stay here again.

Lovely retreat
We have spent a week at this house for several consecutive summers and find it a consistently pleasant destination. The setting is peaceful and affords views of the Pamet River and the Atlantic coastline. One can access a nearby bayside beach just minutes from the house, and trips to Truro Center and Wellfleet are accessible by bike, should one wish to add in some exercise. The rolling hills make for excellent biking.
The house has an open feel as the kitchen and living room are wide open. There are two private bedrooms and one in a loft that overlooks the living room.
Sylvia has always been pleasant and accommodating; over the years, there has been the occasional snafu, of course, but she maintains a solid support crew in the area, so things are rectified quickly.
The interior decor has the authentic feel of a longtime Truro retreat, but is appointed with an updated kitchen that is a pleasure to use.
I recommend this property, especially to those who desire a pastoral, quiet setting. The house and setting are charming and the house is well maintained.

Nice location but disappointing for the price
This house is on a very nice piece of property, as the pictures indicate. It is also large enough to comfortably sleep 6. However, there are many deficiencies for a rental at this price point. The only queen bed is in a loft that is wide open to the living room and also contains a twin, so there is no privacy. The nicest room only has a double bed in it, which is not comfortable for two adults. The loft is not safe for children or older adults as the stairs are very narrow and steep and there is nothing to prevent a small child from falling down from an opening at the top of the stairs. One bathroom is very old with a stall shower with a non-working light. The second bathroom is half renovated. The refrigerator did not have an ice-maker. The coffee maker is very old. The dry feature on the dishwasher did not work. Almost every dish is chipped or cracked. Some of the furniture in the living room is literally falling apart, including the coffee table and one sofa. The interior of the house needs to be repainted. The piano is out of tune. Although the area off the back has the lovely view, it was very difficult to use, as the in-ground sprinklers doused them every morning, so the cushions were soaking almost the whole week that we were there. The linens are quite old and most of the towels are stained. Also, be careful to read the fine print. The owner expects the renters to clean the house themselves (return to condition found in), including washing and drying all the linens and folding them. Check out is at 10 am, so this is extremely challenging. At this price point, it is usual to have a professional cleaning service clean the bathrooms and kitchen and much more hygienic than relying on the prior guests to do so. We asked the owner if we could pay for cleaners and she said she could not arrange it. Since we needed to leave early on the last day, she did arrange for a laundry service to do the wash and we paid by the pound for it. But again, we have rented many times and have never been in a similar situation of having to make special arrangements for laundry.

Wonderful
This is an ideal location within a short drive or bike ride from New England's most beautiful beaches. The house is extraordinarily well equipped, and the owner thoughtful and attentive. My stay exemplified what we all hope a vacation should look like. I cannot recommend the house, the owner and the location highly enough.

A perfect week in Truro
Just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful vacation in your home. What a special place. It was so relaxing and the view was unbelievable. It was so hard to leave. Thank you for always getting back to me when I had a question. My husband and I would definitely be interested in renting the house again. Our boys loved exploring the property. It was the best trip we've had to the Cape so far. Thank you again for everything, Truro is our favorite place on the Cape.

Therapeutic
We were so charmed by this house - the view, the serenity and the peacefulness. You have done a marvelous job of making it so comfortable and well stocked without feeling stuffy. It gave me the feeling of the "real" Cape Cod that keeps me coming back every year. It's a very special place and I hope to return. Thank you for sharing this little slice of heaven!

What a wonderful setting - private and comfortable with easy access to beautiful beaches and sophisticated restaurants and nightlife. A classic Cape Cod experience! The listing was better than described - clean, well maintained and charming. My partner and I had a wonderful time.

True taste of the Cape
Truro is truly a special place, and this property makes it possible to enjoy a genuine outer Cape experience. The house is all its described to be. All amenities are there and the owner is very courteous and thorough. Close proximity to Ptown and Wellfleet. Truro beaches are fantastic.

a million miles away...
Sitting in the Adirondack chairs with a hot cup of coffee overlooking the trees and that bay in the distance was such a wonderful way to relax and start our day! The house was fully equipped, spacious and comfortable. We were close to our favorite beach (Horseneck) and also a quick jaunt over to Provincetown for some people watching. All in all, this was a perfect spot for a relaxing and fun get away. Sylvia was very helpful and the house manual provides all the information that you need. We hope to come back again next year!

4th of July week vacation.
What a wonderful week in Truro and environs. The house was lovely. We appreciated all the amenities. The games, books, fun paintings, plenty of linens and towels...made our stay easy and enjoyable. The privacy of the setting made everyone run for the outside shower! We had a picnic with a crackling fire on the nearby Fisher beach and were treated to the most beautiful sunset. It was worth the waiting in line at the Beach Office to get the permit. We rented bikes, sailed on the Pamet river and swam in beaches on the oceanside and bayside. We would definitely do it all again!

An amazing destination
I found this vacation home to be even better than described. The home is very private and the views are awesome! The kitchen had a recent high-end renovation and was stocked with everything we needed. The mattresses were new and comfortable and the house was clean. There was also beautiful gardens and a secluded outdoor shower. I plan to rent this place again. I had never stayed in Truro before, but have been to many other parts of the cape, and I have to say their beaches are the best on Cape Cod.
About the host
Hosted by Sylvia Russianoff
My mother bought this home which was originally an artist's studio in the early 1950's . Over the years she added two bedroom wings and a second bathroom. I have been coming here since I was a young child and now it is owned by my family since my mother died in 2000. When I inherited it I did a major renovation but tried to keep the original feel of the home. It is truly a magical setting filled with the incredible Truro light that has attracted artists to Truro for years.
Why they chose this property
An airy light filled home with all of the modern conveniences yet retains the old time Cape Cod beach house feel. There is incredible privacy as you are surrounded by 4+ acres as well as National Seashore property. Fisher Beach is a short lovely walk from our property. It truly is a magical setting that is difficult to capture in photographs. You must experience it for yourself to understand!
