A Relaxing Experience in the Smokies

Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family (4 generations) spent a week at the cabin in July. Although the cabin was not ready until 4:00 p.m., we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was plenty for all ages to do. Thank goodness we had our own IT Specialist with us because the theater equipment was a bit confusing. We had a couple of issues with the hot tub and AC, but these were taken care of promptly by a very professional, pleasant young gentleman within a short time after we called. The cabin is within 30 - 40 minutes of a major grocery store and all the major attractions in the area. A Dollar General is within walking distance. We would definitly stay here again.

Uwoduhi cabin

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Cabin was advertised as sleeping 22, while it could sleep that many, it is not designed for that many people to comfortably stay. Living area was small, bedrooms were cavernous. We were a group of 14 and barely fit at the table to eat together. The Cabin is very dated and extremely dark. A few higher wattage lightbulbs would have made a big difference. The ice maker was not turned on when we arrived and when we did turn it on, it didn't work. We did not call management as we were using far more ice than it could produce. The refrigerator is not big enough for a group. The theater room was great, but we had to call after the first movie as the sound kept turning off. Management was very responsive and fixed it. The hot tub was not heating, we didn't discover that until Thursday. Again management was very responsive. The air hockey table had so many dead spots the grandkids couldn't play. It needs to be replaced. The pool table, pool, and arcade were big hits. Wooden rocking chairs on the porch were extremely uncomfortable. No extra blankets in rooms. I found them all in one dresser when checking for belongings as we were leaving. The addition of a rug at the front door (inside) would be helpful. As would a decent broom and dustpan. The setting for the cabin was beautiful and we used the nearby Smoky Mt. hiking trails and Soaky Mt. waterpark. We had a good stay, however, there is nothing "luxury" (as advertised on the web site) about this cabin. I didn't feel like we got our money's worth.

Reviewer Comments: The house was nice and very spacious it was definitely enough room for our family only problems we had was the AC wasn’t working properly upstairs , it was a problem with one of the toilet upstairs and the house needs to be sprayed for roaches it wasn’t real bad but they were noticeable also the alarm for the pool was just annoying they thing steady went off soon as you open the door and it was loud .

What to expect

Location is great, property is nice and flat with plenty of space for everyone and no neighbors right on top of you. The pool and hot tub are great! It was clean, but you are in the woods so we did find a couple of bugs that had gotten in. There are also a couple of worn items from where previous guests did not take care of the place like they should have. A couple of things to expect when you stay that we wish we had known ahead of time and could have prepared for better: 1: The bedrooms are very nice and spacious. We love that 5 out of the 6 bedrooms have either a queen or king size bed and all have their own bathroom. One things to note though, is there are no vents in the bedrooms themselves. They are in the bathrooms in the bedrooms, so make sure you keep your bathroom and bedroom doors open when possible. We stayed in the winter and there was a noticeable 10 degree difference in the bedrooms than in the rest of the house when the doors were open. If both the bathroom door and bedroom door were closed it would get beyond painfully cold. 2: There are alarms on all the doors to the pool room that go off EVERY time any of the doors are open. From the notes it sounds like they are only supposed to go off if the door is left open more than 7 seconds, but they go off every time no matter how quick you are. It was frustrating enough to make us not want to bother with the pool or stay at this particular cabin again. 3: The kitchen is well stocked with great cookware; this is the first cabin we've stayed at that actually had a can opener! However, there are absolutely no cooking items like the essentials you find at other cabins. You will have to bring your own salt/pepper, cooking oil, foil, ect.... You will also want to bring your own laundry detergent, dryer sheets, trash bags, and paper towels as there are either none or very little of these items. Luckily, there is a dollar store less than a mile away to get everyt

Great weekend getaway

The bedrooms were spacious, theatre room, loft/game room and pool/hot tub were a huge hit. There is plenty of room outside for everyone to spread out and play games. The kitchen needs a few additional pots and pans to accommodate feeding as many people as the cabin can sleep. It’s convenient to a dollar general if you forget anything. It was a fabulous weekend. We would definitely recommend.

Our Family Reunion

Reviewer Comments: The Pictures make this look like it is up in the mountains and make it look in better condition than it is. It definitely does NOT sleep the amount of people it says it does! People cannot sleep on those hard couches in the rooms! It needs to be updated and the floors and cabinets redone. The mattresses need to be replaced. One bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned. There wasn't enough cabinet space for food for the amount of people that it says it holds. The theater room was great and the pool was very nice to help keep the kids active. There was definitely enough parking. I loved that there were handicap accessible showers but it would be nice if they would provide at least one chair and a way for someone that is handicap to get into the cabin. The bar on the bedroom side wall could have been better used if they put cabinets and counters for food.

Peaceful Place

This cabin is nice and has plenty of space for 20+ people to stretch out and be comfortable. There isn't enough outside seating for people. There were 4 chairs total. The fire pit is great for nights outside. The logs for seating by the campfire are breaking down. The showers and bathrooms were clean. It was great having a washer and dryer on hand. The pool is a nice assest for the days we had rain.

Bad experience

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I spent $1800 on 2 nights at this cabin so my friends and I could get a relaxing weekend away with our babies. The whole point of getting this specific cabin was for the pool. Upon arrival Friday the pool was broken. We couldn’t use it until Saturday at 4 pm. Management gave us $216 refund which didn’t really feel like enough since we barely got to use the pool. I also made them aware of many other problems that they completely ignored me about. The cabin was DIRTY, trash everywhere, ice machine broken, the roof was LEAKING the whole weekend (it rained all weekend), shower drains had hair in them, and a long list of other things. Overall the cabin was very wear and tear and could use some revamping to make it match the listing on the website. When I brought this up the only response I got was “we will let maintenance know” I’ve rented with them before a couple years ago and didn’t have any issues so this was very disappointing. Will not be renting again.

The Great Friendsgiving

Reviewer Comments: To begin with check in is suppose to be at 3pm My family and I we did not check in until close to 5:30 pm because the previous people destroy the cabin and left a big mess does not make sense why check in out is at 10 am.I was very upset that Elk Spring notify me only 1 hour before check in time ,we almost loose all the food we bought because it was just sitting in the car.The cleaning crew did a good job cleaning;however the pool was very cloudy and we did not use it because since the previous people threw up all over on a couch that it was removed, we were afraid they did the same thing in the pool.Lady that my husband spoke on the phone was very nice but she said that her bosses said that everything was fine.

Uwoduhi Family Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was the perfect layout for all 12 of us and there was so much to do! There were 6 adults and 6 children ranging from 2 years to 14 years old. The pool was clean and the perfect temperature and the hottub was perfect! The theater room was very comfortable.There was an issue with overall cleanliness. There was trash in the firepit and a couple of the bathrooms had some debris in the showers. There was a leak in the bunkroom bathroom so we used another one but let the office know that's what we planned to do. It needed some basic cleaning of cobwebs and the grill cabinet outside needed repairs. We did not use the grill. There were cigarette butts in the front yard and some trash under the back deck. A few of the dishes had to be rewashed.With all of that said, we had an amazing time and there was plenty to keep everyone entertained. It was just what we wanted being all together.It might be a good idea to have someone walk around and take note of general painting of the deck and moving the cushions to make sure there is no trash.I appreciated the texts and phone messages of welcome and fast response to our questions. I think the communication of the management company was great.
