This modern village apartment is an ideal holiday spot for couples or families with children. and has received 5 star reviews for years, except just one! from a Spanish lady who couldn't get her Spanish programme on our TV !!

Our cleaners/key holders Sue & Rod clean and sanitize after each guest.

2 BEDROOMS - 2 BATHROOMS - LIVING ROOM - KITCHEN - BALCONY – LARGE SHARED SUNROOF (only 7 other apartments mostly older Spanish who don't like sunbathing!) - LIFT RIGHT TO YOUR DOOR
It has a master bedroom and balcony with en-suite shower room/basin/loo and a 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds and a family bathroom/bath/shower/basin/bidet/loo.
The living room and kitchen have a balcony with fabulous sea views over 15 miles of coastline.
Efficient Ceiling fans and Floor fans, and we have removable mozzie screens to the windows. Air conditioning is installed, (which you hardly need with the fans), and a full kitchen with extensive cutlery and crockery.
ELECTRICITY is supplied through a simple one euro coin meter. Note: about 1.5 euro per 24 hours to run all regular appliances. Air-Con more than doubles that, so if you need it, please ensure that you switch off when not using.
To cover our guests paying for electricity through the coin box, we have adjusted the rental rate accordingly.

Fresh linen & towels are provided. Laundry and cleaning and constant help, should you need it, offered by our local key holders, Sue & Rodney.

Freeview channels, flat screen TV, lots of paperbacks, and games.

SORRY No German or French or Spanish TV channels. Please use your tablet and our free WiFi to watch European programmes.

WIFI is installed and free.

There are restaurants, bars and shops within 100 yards,
Easy free parking within 40 yards, and buses stop in both directions 50 yards away.
A village size supermarket, chemist, mobile phone shop, beauty cum health salon, a bank, paper shop, vets, tobacconists, tourist info, hairdressers, fishmongers, butchers, post office all close by, and right next door, a fresh bread & cake shop.
Only 4 floors in this modern block of 8 apartments with a lift right to your door.
6 feet from the front door are steps up to the sunroof, almost the size of the apartment. You have a key which locks it.
A 15 to 20 minute stroll takes you through the surrounding farmland, past the low pine forest and sand dunes to the most beautiful blue flag sand beach that runs for around 7 miles.
There are no buildings except a row of old terraced fisherman's dwellings, and just the pine forest and a large lake and bird sanctuary with watching huts.
There are 3 very Spanish restaurant cum bars on the beach over a stretch of around a mile.
Walking along paths through the forest and around the lakes, watching all the many species of birds, then back along the beach to get a drink at a beach bar, then through the pines back to the road is a joy.
You'll pass Los Carmelos, a local family owned and run tapas and main meal bar that has several large barrels of various wines that you help yourself from, and when you pay your bill they ask how many glasses you've had!
Truly fabulous, Spain 70 years ago!
It's situated 400m south, along the road from the apartment. Open some evenings and lunchtimes, check it out, it's very popular.
If you have a car then parking is free and easy on the road in front of the apartment or side roads.
Within a short drive or bus ride there are numerous golf courses and the really interesting towns of Guardamar del Segura with its street markets and Alicante with its wonderful old town & marina (read below for further info)
Local town Guardamar del Segura is only 5 miles away (easy by bus from across the road opposite the apartment) and has a permanent market and flea market along a road going from town centre to the beach & sea, that skirts the end of the beautiful pine forest, that runs all the way back, some 5 miles to La Marina and the apartment.
Also Guardamar has a weekly market (usually Wednesdays) in the centre of town and side roads.
There are lots of restaurants and bars and a half mile of promenade against the wonderful sand beach for strolling and taking a beer and Tapas.
A further mile or so along the coast south there is Moncayo that has an enormous Sunday market.
Torrevieja is around 8 miles away by the 332 coast road.
To get there is easy by bus from opposite the apartment. It's a large town with a marina and great beach walks along a prom.
Elche just 10 miles away is the centre for palm tree cultivation. There is an enormous palm orchard called a Palmeral.
More than 200 000 palms and a walk around the Palmeral is a sight to behold. It's been there since the 11th century. Buses go from near the apartment.
Alicante is a large town 30 mins away by bus from outside the apartment, that has a fabulous old town with narrow streets and lots of bars & restaurants. It also has a large Marina with many boats plus it's own castle up on a rock overlooking the town.
The main town is shopping heaven.
For sea experiences with trips or renting motor boats, cruising, diving sea trips, snorkelling trips to the island of Tabarca can all be fixed from Santa Pola up the coast 30 min away. In fact if you stand on our sunroof and look to the farthest point north you can see Santa Pola and the island of Tabarca. There are ferries from Santa Pola to the island.

2 doors from the apartment there is a tourist info shop to check on all interesting local excursions.

MUY DESCONTENTOS
La limpieza del apartamento ha dejado un poco desear, por lo que cobran sinceramente, habían limpiado muy por encima. Me ha defraudado mucho que después de reservar el apartamento, el propietario me envió un mail, en el cual indicaba que la electricidad no estaba incluida, es a través de un contador, aunque el propietario hizo un abono no me llegó para 7 días (sin poner el AACC), es decir, me parece un atraco y debería de estar especificado antes de la reserva. Por otro lado, es lamentable que no haya TV española, solo TDT inglés y bastante "capado", no hay compatibilidad con la TV de aquí, el propietario ni siquiera me hizo caso, tuve que poner una reclamación a vrbo para que atendiera mi petición, no hizo nada para solucionarlo y tampoco está especificado aquí. Sinceramente aunque volvería a La Marina ya que me ha gustado mucho, es bastante tranquilo, no volvería a reservar este apartamento.

Perfecto para ir a la playa
El apartamento es muy cómodo y accesible. Muy próximo a la playa (es posible incluso ir andando dando un paseo). La casa tiene todas las prestaciones para tener una estancia cómoda (sofá estupendo, ventiladores en cada habitación, etc.). Además hay que añadir que tiene unas bonitas vistas del mar.

My name is Colin, I'm English born and live in Rotterdam. We fell in love with the area, it's like Spain was 70 years ago and has not changed a lot. Yes a few new builds but the countryside and low pine forest backing the dunes and beach are untouched. Still Spanish owned beach bar / restaurants. and no high rise buildings behind the dunes and beach. Great walks and if you have a car it's free right by the beach FABULOUS

Why they chose this property

WHY DID WE BUY IT? As you can see from the photographs the views are fabulous and we're surrounded by fields and agriculture.
The local business's are almost all Spanish owned and it's so refreshing to be served by locals instead of overseas folks! We love it.

Around 1920 the pine forest was installed, full of low line pines and about 7 miles long and half a mile deep right at the back of the sand dunes.
This was grown to stop the beach further encroaching on the land and as of today no buildings have been built, except the row of ancient fisherman's dwellings which line part of the beach, some of which have become restaurants and bars (totally Spanish owned)
