Not a very relaxing place to stay!

The main positive about the cottage is the location - it is just a few minutes walk to the waterfront and barbican area where you will find everything you need for a wonderful visit to Plymouth. The cottage however is not a very restful place to stay. There are 2 quite challenging staircases to negotiate which include places where you have to duck to avoid banging your head. The bedroom is on the top floor and the only toilet is on the ground floor so it is particularly difficult if you need to use the bathroom during the night! The bathroom itself is minute - there is not enough room to clean your teeth over the sink! The cottage is a quirky old building so these are not matters which an owner could change but the listing should make some of these issues clear. The cottage is clean and well-equipped and its quirky character would probably make it a fun place to stay for some but we found the challenges prevented it from being a relaxing stay and when we are on holiday we'd like to stay somewhere where it is easy to relax.

The location of this cosy little cottage is fabulous - very near the harbour at the Barbican with it

The location of this cosy little cottage is fabulous - very near the harbour at the Barbican with its many shops and restaurants. The owner, Jane was great - friendly, helpful and efficient. Although really small, the cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

A fabulous stay at this well located property - right in the heart of the Barbican with the marina just yards away. Finished to a high standard, the fixtures and fittings were everything we needed. Just one criticism, there was no welcome pack so had to find things out within the property by trial and error. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
