About this property

Whin Fell, Northumberland

Whin Fell Lodge is on beautiful Percy Park Woods in Northumberland. This spacious 2 bedroom property has absolutely stunning views from the terrace - plunge into your hot tub next to the terrace or just relax in the peaceful country surroundings.

Located on a park surrounded by wonderful woodland, it's a real haven for wildlife, where you are likely to see deer, red squirrels, and other countryside animals.

The lodge has lots of space. There's a large, modern stylish kitchen with a range style double cooker, large American style fridge freezer, breakfast bar, washing machine and dining area. Open to the cosy lounge with fireplace and TV. Double aspect doors leading out to the terrace where you can enjoy a drink and the late evening sunshine.

It really has something for the whole family, 2 large double bedrooms with Jack & Jill style en-suite bathroom. One bedroom also has a dressing area with wardrobes.

Percy Wood Country Retreat is a great central location for discovering what Northumberland coast and countryside has to offer, including castles, stately homes, market towns, pretty villages and beaches. Unlimited Golf included in price of holiday.

Onsite there's a children's outdoor playarea, a small multipurpose games court, and the occasional pop up coffee cart / food vans for refreshments. There is a bar / restaurant (The Bari Bar) on the other side of the golf course, approximately a 20 minute stroll through the woods, pets and children welcome there too!.

Swarland is a lovely little village in Northumberland. Have afternoon refreshments at Nelsons coffee shop and sample their wonderful home cooked cakes and pastries over looking a great park where the kids can play. In neighbouring villages sample some fabulous Northumbrian hospitality at the local pubs and restaurants.

Whinfell
This was our 4th short stay at Percy Woods this year. The lodge was lovely and comfortable with fantastic view. We've stayed in Sweethope and Herdwick, both also lovely and comfortable with everything you need but the views fr9m Whinfell made this our favourite. Only downside was where the hot tub is situated and it was a bit grimy so not sure if it had been cleaned. Not good having to walk to it in the dark as outside lights didn't work but it's not in a good position despite that. Other than that, can't fault the lodge. The park is lovely and peaceful and only a short walk to the Bari bar. Would definitely recommend

Perfect get away
We have just had the most wonderfully relaxing weekend at Percy Wood. We stayed at Whin Fell. The cabin was equipt with everything you could want, immacultely clean & a lovely welcome gift on arrival. The hot tub being an added bonus for us relaxed us after a round of golf. The park was peaceful considering how many people we saw walking. The golf course is long & we would of benefit from a buggy but the greens are well kept. Cant wait to go back. Many thanks to Martin & Wendy (Hemera) for your excellent communications

Had a wonderful memorable time .
Whin fell was the perfect vacation caravan, with 2 double beds and on-suits it was fabulous, the welcome gift waiting for us was a lovely surprise too. The hot tub was amazing, with absolutely wonderful views and our week was fabulous, would we go back? Definitely yes In a heart beat , from start to finish booking the holiday was very simple with great communication from Wendy at herma holidays to the lovely lady on the other end of the phone, Percy wood site was extremely clean and very quite we even saw a red dear run along the amazingly kept 18 hole free golf course, we are already looking at booking again next year our little dog loved it too , thank you for the memories x

Weekend break
Our stay at Whin Fell was just what we needed. Beautiful location and very comfortable lodge. Hot tub was a lovely bonus. The park is impeccably maintained and quiet and peaceful. The booking system was professionally handled and informative. We will definitely return again. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Nelsons in the park and can highly recommend.

6/10 Okay

Good location but very dusty
This was our first trip to Northumberland and it was a beautiful county to visit. The property was located on a good plot on the Percy Wood Holiday Park, with good views from the large lounge windows. It was also well equipped for a weeks holiday but there were some significant disappoints, especially given the price paid for a weeks stay. Firstly, the property was incredibly dusty, as if surfaces hadn't been dusted for months. This was quite disgusting and resulted in us having to do some dusting. Not good. Secondly, one of the mattresses was incredibly uncomfortable. The springs were all right at the surface and just dug into your body resulting in very poor nights sleep. We'll definitely go back to Northumberland and would consider another property on the Percy Wood Holiday Park but we would not stay at Whin Fell again.

Excellent location
Location brilliant great views , nice quiet site , amazed with the number of lodges on site . Whin fell could do with some updating . Carpet looking very tired , dirty patch’s in lounge area . Bar stool top all ripped , only3 dinning chairs but a 4 berth static Hot tub got rather frothy when used , not sure if hot water from boiler should be used to fill it .

Wonderful stay in Northumberland
We had a great stay at the lodge for 3 nights. We were lucky to get decent weather in the evenings to use the hot tub, which was great. The lodge was super clean, comfortable beds and sofas. Both bedrooms are en suite, one with a bath tub and one with a shower. The kitchen had everything we needed and bath towels were provided. We only had to bring our own cooking essentials and toiletries. The lodge had WiFi which was a bonus as on air bnb it said that WiFi wasn't available. It was in a lovely, peaceful location and tourist attractions/ things to do were just a short drive away. We loved it. Thank you for having us. We would definitely recommend this lodge and would love to stay there again.

A much needed break away
On arrival We noticed there were no outdoor chairs but within hours Zoe had sorted this out which was amazing service , thank you . No dishwasher but for a few days was fine !! Location just perfect but no security on entrance gate so anyone can drive in or out at anytime of the day ! Our weather was great so enjoyed the fun of the hot tub , the size of the accommodation for two couples was perfect and so well equipped with good quality bedding and towels , the area was perfect for walking locally though no local shops or pubs, But amazing villages and beaches a short drive away with larger shops in Alnwick close by , a stunning area to visit.
