Lovely cozy cottage in a good location

This cottage is very clean and has everything yo need for a good stay. The decor is very pleasing and makes you feel at home. After a long days walk it is nice to come back to a warm house and be able to sit and relax. The weather could have been better very windy and cold but there is plenty of things in the house to entertain you if we didn't want to go out. It is ideally situated hidden amongst the dunes. Would love to go back next year at the same time.

Lovely comfortable cottage in great location!

We enjoyed our stay at Kiln Cottage. It is very comfortable and well equipped with a very good shower which is always a good touch for us at the end of a full day walking on the beach. Our only negative would be the driveway to the cottage and outside the cottage itself. We were well prepared for the bumpy road, however, the potholes are huge and soon filled with water after a night of rain, which made them impassable with our car! It also meant there was no leaving the cottage with nice shoes on. Wellies and boots a must! We were made fully aware of this before we booked the cottage but it was worse than expected due to the rainfall in the first couple of days of our stay. The cottage itself is in an ideal position for access to the beach and within walking distance of the lovely pubs in Beadnell, everything we were looking for.

Good Location, comfortable beds!

The property was in a great location for us being just minutes from the beach. Unfortunately the road leading to the property is in a very poor state and is just a rough hardcore unmade road with huge potholes which were like small muddy lakes on our arrival. The house itself was very comfortable, especially the beds and on the whole it is well equipped with a large fenced in garden ideal for dogs. It is in need of sprucing up in certain areas especially the bathroom which really needs a refit. Unfortunately for us the house had been cleaned by agency cleaners who were running late and were extremely rude when we arrived telling us in no uncertain terms to go away till 4pm! They also managed to break the lock on the front door and didnt clean the house at all well. A locksmith had to be called eventually and we didnt get into the property till after 6.30 when check in should have been 2pm. A very stressful start to our holiday, especially when i had to finish off the cleaning myself. All we got for our trouble was a box of chocolates off the cleaning company and a brief text off the owner. Im sure our experience isnt typical as looking at the guest book there are many returning guests and great reviews. I dont like leaving negative reviews and i have tried to be fair and honest with what I have said.

Great location and great property

We had a fantastic stay. The house has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The fire was an added bonus to snuggle up in front of after a day wandering on the beautiful beaches. The location is great, so close to the beach.

Well equipped cosy house in fantastic location so near the beach

Had a great week in Kiln cottage. It's very comfy ... great beds .. and well equipped .. kitchen actually set up to cook in ... and the downstairs loo is a real bonus. Only minor negatives for us are the unmade access road which is very muddy after rain and the lack of some reclining deckchairs to enjoy the sun in the garden. Visitors should also note that there are a lot of other holiday properties round about within earshot so you are to some extent at the mercy of other holidaymakers and how considerate they are. We were unfortunate enough to have a family with 3 dogs staying in close proximity who allowed them out to bark unchecked at 7 every morning.... Nonetheless, we would hope to come back some time.

Ideally placed for Beadnell harbour and beautiful beach

Comfortable and well equipped house towards one end of Beadnell village in an ideal spot for the harbour and beach. Good location for exploring the local area either by car or on foot.

Lovely cottage - perfect location

Had a great stay in Kiln Cottage, the house is well equipped and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfy too. The location is great for the beach and harbour. Beadnell itself is lovely and is a perfect base for discovering the Northumberland coast. The small shop/chipshop is a 10 minute walk away, and the pub around 15 minutes - take a torch at night as it's dark walking back and there aren't many street lights. Owner was great when we had a query - responded straight away. Can't wait to stay next year!

perfect location and extremely well equipped

The property is deceptively big and was perfect for New Years. The location enabled us to go on some amazing walks direct from the house. Being so close to the sea we enjoyed fireworks on the harbour and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights faintly as the sky was so clear. The set up of the house was amazing, extremely comfortable beds with plenty of bedding. More than enough seating spaces downstairs and plenty of books, dvds, boardgames and even a WII to occupy yourself if the weather keeps you inside. The kitchen is fully equipped. The open fire is a nice touch and was needed in the evenings. We will definitely come back here; and recommend it to other couples and those with families .

perfectly positioned

First impressions on arrival were not brilliant. Lots of weeds growing around the door and the exterior paintwork was in need of attention. But, once inside we were delighted to find a comfortable, spacious well equipped living space. Yes, the interior was getting ready for a lick of paint, but it was clean and comfortable. We very quickly made ourselves at home, were reluctant to leave and would be happy to stay there again. The fenced garden was a bonus for our dog and having the beach literally on the doorstep made for a fabulous holiday.

Homely with stunning location

Located just behind the dunes within 2 minutes of Beadnell Harbour this property gave us a home from home feeling. Whilst not aspiring to be the top of luxury everything you would need for a comfortable relaxing holiday was here. We did not have children with us but they did seem to be catered for very well. We did have a slight problem with one of the appliances but this was dealt with within a couple of hours of reporting. We would love to come back sometime soon
