Our apartment is ideally situated in the Heart of the Midlands the epicentre of the country and on the edge of the National Forest.
We feel it is the perfect retreat if you're visiting friends, relatives or experiencing many of the attractions the area has to offer which are innumerable.
Whether its cultural, historic or your visiting many of the family attractions in the area we're proud to offer you a home from home.
Apart from our location in the Midlands were also ideally situated for all of your immediate needs within easy walking distance to a tesco express, free parking, and lots of other amenities, take aways, pubs and a local park with football field and kids playground, which is most convenient if you have children or dogs (we accept pets by arrangement ) so everything is literally on your door-step.
If you're lover of the outdoors or like a run within half a mile of the apartment you're in wide open fields and the glorious Derbyshire country-side.
As regards the apartment itself we do our utmost to cover all of your needs with a fully equipped kitchen with a washing machine large fridge-freezer, toasters and a coffee-maker.We're also conscious of making people comfortable in all seasons so apart from the normal heating system we have plug in radiators and heaters in all rooms and electric blanket on some beds for those cold wintry nights, and in the summer we have rotating pedestal fans.In addition we supply all the bedding, cushions, pillows and towels, some toiletries and tea and coffee so you shouldn't have to bring anything with you.If you have specific needs once it as a confirmed booking you can call or email and we'll do our utmost to help and if you're visiting the area we're happy to give you pointers on where to eat and where to go according to your needs and interests.
As regards the top attractions there are many places within 15 to 20 minutes drive of the apartment the highlights being Twycross zoo, Drayton manor park (Thomas-land) Calke Abbey, Conkers activity centre and many free wild-life walks.
Also if you're hobbies are fishing or cycling there is a bike shop in the village and a fantastic bike trail, hicks lodge has extensive bike trails for all levels of experience it was specially built for the Olympics so is a rare treat and has a cafe on site, and there are several fishing lakes close by.
In general we're never far from nature be it a walk through the foresr or see the birds of prey at Rosliston forestry centre, or a walk along the tow path by Moira furnace or the many beauty spots dotted around the area.
The historic town of Ashby de la zouch is also under 15 minutes drive away (also on the bus route ) a lovely market town which has many high street shops a costa coffee and various eateries be it private cafes for lunch or restaurants, for dinner, theres an Ask and an Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indian and there all of a great standard, or if you want to grab a quick bite theres always Wetherspoons and various gastro pubs, that do excellent carveries on Sunday dinners at a very reasonable price,not to mention several acclaimed restaurants in the vicinity which have rosettes and michelin stars the most notable the famous mecca of foodies Sat bains.
Although the village of Measham itself boasts a 12th century church, 2 fish and chip shops, a chines restaurant and a chinese takeaway and 2 cafes that are open for breakfast and lunch.So literally everything is on your doorstep.
