About this property
Toscanella - Flo Apartments
In the very heart of the old artesan district of Florence named “Oltrarno”, the most authentic area of the city, at 2 minutes walking from Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio, our apartment will welcome you to spend a true florentine style holiday.
Located on the 1st floor (just 13 steps!) it offers 1 double bedroom, a living with a cozy sofa bed, 2 baths, kitchen, can accomodate 4 persons and is equipped with any comfort which will let you live an unforgettable experience.
Wi-Fi, heating, aircon
Located on the first floor (only one flight of stairs, 13 steps) of a typical Florentine building from the 1400s, our apartment, with its warm and rustic atmosphere, matches the charm of a house from the past with all the modern comforts, It is the ideal place to live the history and the main attractions of magnificent Florence, within walking distance, and the best place to rest after a long day of visits.
Although located in a very lively area both during the day and evening, among craft workshops, bars and delicious restaurants, our bright (and white!) apartment is very quiet. It has been newly and tastefully renovated and offers contemporary design furniture, together with the warmth of typical elements as the cotto floor.
The apartment is accessed through a wide dining room, with table, chairs and a well equipped kitchen, to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner anytime you want.
Our guests can also enjoy a bright and wide living area overlooking Via Toscanella. It has a nice sofa, that easily turns into a comfortable double bed, flat screen tv.
From the living room you enter the wide and romantic master bedroom with the large en-suite bathroom with shower and washing machine.
THE DISTRICT
The apartment is at a short walk (2 minutes) from Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens, close to Piazza Pitti, one of the most historic squares of "Oltrarno", that includes the well known ancient districts of Santo Spirito and San Frediano, where many monuments, gardens, museums and monumental palaces are.
This is the most authentic area of the city, where the old Florentine traditions continue to live with their traditional shops, handcrafts, and where you can still see the work of different artists and artisans.
This historic district is in fact also known as the the district of Handcrafts and Artists, full of stories to tell and emotions to live.
The apartment is located in Via Toscanella, a narrow alley that owes its name to the Dal Pozzo Toscanelli family, who had its palace in this street and gave birth to Paolo dal Pozzo Toscanelli, mathematician, geographer, astronomer and doctor of the 15th century. Close to our apartment, you can enjoy some 15th century corbels which were part of a monumental porch where you could meet artists, scholars and literati as Brunelleschi and Vasari.
We are also very close to the new and vibrant Florentine "nightlife", with its many restaurants, taverns, pubs and caffés, that come alive especially in summer on the squares and streets with their outdoor tables.
Here you can enjoy the best Tuscan dishes either for an informal lunch, or for a romantic dinner.
Ideal for couples or families with children, the neighborhood has everything you might need during your stay.
Within a walking distance you can find: banks, pharmacies, bars, bakeries, ice cream shops, pizzerias, typical and ethnic restaurants, supermarkets, hairdresser, laundry, bus stop, children's playground.
Within 400 meters you will find:
Ponte Vecchio, Museo della Specola, Giardino di Boboli, Porta Romana, Porta San Frediano, Santo Spirito (with its typical markets), Giardino Torrigiani, Palazzo Pitti, Piazza del Carmine.
Crossing the Arno river, you can reach by walking in a few minutes:
Piazza della Signoria, Galleria degli Uffizi e Palazzo Vecchio 10 minuti
Piazza Duomo 12 minutes
Basilica di Santa Maria Novella 12 minutes
Stazione di S M Novella 15 minutes
All the monuments not mentioned are within 1.0 km
Please be aware that Florence is not a car friendly city, so avoid to arrive driving, if you can!
Since our apartment is located in a limited traffic zone, you can drive just to reach one of the garages nearby. Here you can park your car and forget about it for the rest of your holiday, since all the sightseeings of Florence are just a couple of blocks away!
Probably you will never take buses, but the area is well served by public transportation that in a few minutes will take you to the train station of Santa Maria Novella, Piazza San Marco or Piazzale Michelangelo. . City Tax: € 6,00 per person per night to pay at check-in for a maximum of 7 nights

About the host
Hosted by Barbara

Tourism has always been my passion and my "motto" is: feel at home, even far away from home.
Moved by a great love for travel and hospitality, I like to know new places and learn about different cultures and people.
But I also love to show you the beauty of Florence & Tuscany, how the locals "feel" this enchantable place, just to make you live unforgettable experiences to tell!
Looking forward to welcoming you!
