The cabin was just as described. Neat, clean and decorated just enough for the holiday. The view from the balconies was breath taking. On our day of departure, we were surprised by the view of area below....it looked as if everything was covered in snow but it actually was a very thick fog. It was beautiful. We revisit. ththe
This cabin is as it says Almost Heaven! The views are amazing, the beds a comfy, and the host is easy to get in contact with. We will definitely stay here again!
We are just about annual visitors to this cabin and have never been disappointed. The view from the balconies and every bedroom is breathtaking and the inside of the cabin is so very comfy and welcoming. We always look forward to getting there and never want to leave when the last day comes. Hosts are great at communicating and always very helpful. Can not recommend this cabin enough, or maybe I should say it’s awful so I can make sure our dates are always available!! 😏😉
The cabin was as beautiful as advertised with outstanding views. Both the interior and exterior were gorgeous. The only downsides were the small parking area for our full sized cars and the far too small road up to the cabin, made worse by the ongoing additional cabin construction on one of sharpest turns.
We loved the location of this house, and the views were absolutely amazing! The owners made it super easy with communication and were very prompt with responses. I will say a few things maybe needed a few updates here and there throughout the house, but overall the house is great!
Very good location. Excellent sunsets. Steep drive but thats what's expected in that area. Cooked out most nights. Did bring my own sharp knife and non stick pan. Kids loved the basement. Ping pong table. They did get creative with net set ups. Only 10 minutes to townsend.
This property is everything the owners said it would be. The views are breathtaking. The cabin was in excellent shape, very clean very relaxing I would recommend this cabin to everyone. We watched every sunset and had an awesome time. Thank you.
We loved the view and it was a decent cabin, but it could use some repairs and updates on the deck and door knobs. The owner did not get back with me about Directv not working on the lower level bedroom and game room. And they’re not smart TVs, so we couldn’t use streaming service like they claimed. I just wanted something for the kids to watch at bedtime. Overall, it was ok, but not much to do on a rainy day here for children.
We’ve stayed in many cabins. This is the perfect one for our family. It’s away from the business and noise of the city. On top of the mountain is such a beautiful view in the mornings and evenings. Early morning coffee on the deck listening to the songbirds and unwinding before bed in the evening listening to the sounds of nighttime in the Smokies. Plenty of space for us to all spread out. We loved each level has their own bathroom and shower/tub. Yes it’s a climb to the top but we found it to be one of the easier drives we’ve made. I mean, you’re so far up and that is to be expected. Ample parking for two cars. Kitchen well stocked. Plenty of towels,
Pillows, blankets, etc. such a nicely decorated cabin also. I believe we have found our new yearly cabin rental. I did not have any issues where I had to contact the owners. Check in was easy. I just can’t say enough about this cabin.

Never Even Opened the Door - This is NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!
RENTER BEWARE!. We were super excited to rent a beautiful cabin overlooking the mountains. What was failed to mention on the booking was the white knuckle Everest Climb with the truck to get to this cabin!..We have a full size SUV, the road up this hill was at least 50 degress our truck had all it could do to climb it and it was switch back all the way up, with no guard rails and no shoulder on the road! This road was only wide enough for our truck ONLY. Once we actually mad the summit of the hill where the cabin was we noticed what looked like four more cabins up there. By the Grace of God we did not run into anybody coming down as we were going up because neither of us could have gotten around each other nor could we have backed down or backed back up the hill. The landing at the top of the summit was just big enough for us to turn our vehicle around and white knuckle our truck off this mountain. I rode my brakes all the way back down this hill, they were smoking at the bottom. If my brakes would have failed on the way down our entire family would be lost over the cliff, no guard rails and no shoulder. We did get out of the truck once at the top of the hill and the winds were probably 70 miles per hour and the cabin itself was off the edge of the cliff with only 1 wall of the foundation in the cliff. Myself and my family were scared to death of this climb and this cabin. We Left Immediately! Hope to get refund on cleaning, never went inside. NO REFUND ON CABIN..LOST IT ALL.
This property was perfect! It was clean and the pictures do not do it justice... especially regarding the view. Although there are approximately 8 other cabins on the top of the hill, it was a very peaceful setting. We were away from the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge, but close enough to easily take advantage of it when we wanted too. The purpose of our trip was to check seeing Tennessee in the fall off my almost 80 year old grandmother's bucket list. Therefore we had multiple generations in this house. The layout was perfect for our needs with her on the main floor and other families divided between the two remaining floors to give everyone the space they needed. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone considering it. I know other reviews state that the road is steep to the cabin, which it is... but you are in the mountains. I personally didn't feel that the drive was different than what you would do if you drove through the National Park in some areas. So do not let it scare you.
Beautiful cabin, well equipped, amazing views. Easy checkin and communication with manager. Very clean and everything we needed. Only issue which we knew about from reviews was the twisty, steep climb to get up there. Road is paved and well maintained and both of our old vans and my sons two seat honda made it! If snowy or slick it might have been a different story.
We spend the week of Thanksgiving in this beautiful cabin in the mountains with our daughter and her family and our son and his girlfriend. The views from the cabin were absolutely amazing! The cabin was clean and perfect for our needs. We would definitely stay there again!
We loved our stay at this property! The views are literally heavenly! The best views since we were so high up at the top of the mountains. The drive was super scary definitely very intimidating especially on the first day. We started feeling better about it everyday but super anxious every time we would go back up to the cabin after exploring gatlingburg and pigeon forge! I almost didn’t want to stay because of the drive and how scary it was. The cabin was beautiful and spacious for us. We had a wonderful time over all. When we got there the bathrooms especially the toilets and bathtubs were dirty , the oven and the carpets. This cabin definitely needs a super deep cleaning ASAP. I spoke to the property owner and she was super sweet and kind. She understood my frustration towards the dirtiness and my scare of riding up the mountain and she definitely made me feel so much better and even refunded my cleaning fee! We appreciate the great customer service! I do recommend this cabin overall. Our experience was beautiful!
The road up to the cabin was steep and narrow in spots towards the top and curvy as you would expect driving up a mountain, but paved and in excellent shape. Our Toyota Camry made the trip up the road without any problems. The views from the cabin were awe-inspiring and the cabin had everything we needed for our stay. I would recommend this cabin if you are looking for spectacular views, you aren’t afraid of a steep curvy mountain road, and you want to get away from the more touristy areas and enjoy the national park or a quiet, relaxing vacation. Wears Valley has some nice little shops, grocery stores, and wonderful restaurants. We truly enjoyed our stay and will opt for this area in the future!
Gorgeous Views and Clean Property close to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood
We very much enjoyed our stay at Almost Heaven. It is truly at the top of a mountain with fabulous vistas. This cabin easily sleeps 8 in beds -- with a King bed each on the first, second and third floors...and another (maybe queen bed) also on the first floor. The hot tub was clean, hot and bubbling when we arrived. And, we loved having our own wood-burning fireplace. We came prepared with our own wood and fire-building supplies, which I would recommend. There is a coffee maker and sugar and powdered creamer, but bring your own filters.
Also, I recommend bringing your own bath soup and shampoos/conditioners. The directions to get into the place were quite clear and the code worked perfectly. It did take us a few days to connect with the owner to get the correct directions, so just give yourself 4-5 days before you check in to ensure you have those instructions. It felt like the carpeting throughout was new and clean, which was a nice surprise. And, there's plenty of chair seating on both the first and second floor decks.
This IS a very steep climb to the top of the mountain, so be prepared to put your vehicle in low gear to get up and down. Also, this climb could probably be quite challenging in snow or ice, but otherwise is quite doable.
We would definitely stay again at Almost Heaven and would recommend it.
Beautiful cabin with beautiful sunsets. Very comfortable beds. Although there were no sheets on bed in basement and no extra sheet sets.
Bring a cork screw and wine glasses if you enjoy wine since neither were in the cabin.

Overall the cabin was great for our stay. The beds in the 3 bedrooms were comfortable and clean, but the 4th king bed in the game room really is only comfortable for small kids, and it wasn't made up when we arrived, though the linens were nearby. The video game table was an instant hit. Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus, and the kitchen was well stocked (though a few more cutlery pieces would've been nice. But we brought plastic cutlery anyway so this wasn't a big deal). There were a couple of minor maintenance issues that we passed along to the owners. The main thing is that the view from the decks is very obstructed by the trees. I'm not sure what would be involved in cutting them back, but it would actually help the cabin live up to its claims of a spectacular view. The upper bedroom still had a great view, but it would be nice for all not staying in that room to have a common area to gather and enjoy the view, which is spectacular beyond the trees. Parking is sufficient for 2 cars, but it would be a bit trickier for 3 to park, though still doable. Overall, we were very comfortable in this cabin and very much enjoyed our stay.
