Misleading Kommunikation
Even though the incomprehensible and misleading communication with our landlord didn’t ruin our trip I will not recommend renting this appartment and getting in touch with its owners.
Prehistory: We have rented the apartment for only me and my husband before. Three weeks before the begin of our trip I told the landlord that our daughter would be joining us for 6 of the 11 days. His answer was “perfect”.
In terms of the furnishing: The advertisement includes the existence of a pool and Parking, but the pool is no longer in use. The parking turned out there was none and we were confronted with the struggle to search for a parking spot in the narrow and steepy street where the apartment is located. There is no microwave. The drying rack is falling out of the wall and the hair dryer is broken. But these inconveniences are not the reason for me to right a negative feedback.
On the day we arrived we were welcomed by the brother of the landlord. After his departure we found ourselves confronted with a clogged sink. Also we were given only one bed sheet for the both of us.
I informed the owner and his brother about these problems which resulted in him getting back there at 11.00 AM, then leaving and then coming back at 12.00 AM with equipment to work on the clogged sink. As I reminded him about the bed sheet he said we would have to pay 20 € to get another one.
We spend the hours arguing with him about the bed sheet which was very unpleasant and strange. He was asking us why we needed the second bed sheet, if it was because of the temperature or if we had other reasons. I was not ready to continue this discussion and didn’t see myself in need to justify my wish for the second bedsheet, so I stopped the conversation. In the evening I received a message from the landlord that as he didn’t demand additional payment for our daughter he will not give us a second bedsheet and we can buy another one ourselves or leave the apartment.
On the day of our departure the landlord and his brother came by to collect the keys at 9.30 and controlled if everything is OK in the appartment.
