About this property

2 bedroom, and 2.5 bathroom unit on the grounds of the Turtle Bay Resort. Kuilima Estates West unit #90. It has all the amenities of home and the benefits of being at a resort. The condo sits on the 2nd hole of the Fazio golf course. Back lanai overlooks one of the courses water features. Newly remodeled swimming pool is located just steps from the front door. The condo comes complete with High Speed Wireless Internet.

The galley style kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. All linens are provided along with beach towels. Stackable washer and dryer is located within the condo. Gas BBQ is located on the back lanai off the living room.

Turtle Bay Resort ( a 10 minute walk away) recently underwent a complete renovation. Guests have access to 5 food and beverage outlets on the resort. As well as, 2 professional golf courses, the Fazio and Arnold Palmer courses. Surfing, snorkeling and sunbathing on the beach, are a short walk away. Horseback riding and helicopter rides can also be arranged through the Turtle Bay resort concierge.

Nice location on the North Shore!

We enjoyed staying here and the property was accurately described. It's part of the larger Turtle Bay resort so you do have access to a nice beach and the comforts of a large hotel and it's amenities very close by. Property was nicely maintained, clean and spacious. the upstairs has the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms that was helpful. The downstairs could easily accommodate another person on the sofa bed and a bathroom as well. The kitchen has the required amenities to cook a quick brunch and dinner if needed. Appreciated that since the prices in Hawaii are pretty high. Very close to the Polynesian Cultural Center which I think is a blast and highly recommended. And you're never more than 2 minutes from a beach! What's to complain about that!

8 Weeks of Aloha on Oahu

This was one of the most enjoyable VRBO rentals that we have experienced in 12 years. The property manager, Heather, was very communicative and quick to respond to any questions that we had. The condo pictures realistically reflected the condition of the property.

Great relaxing place!

This is the second year we have stayed in this condo over Thanksgiving weekend. The amenities were as listed, and it was like a "home away from home." We especially liked the "backyard." The view of the golf course and lake was so relaxing and also the extra perk of using the golf course greens as a open space for the family run around. We also took advantage of nearby walks to the stables and beaches. We hope to return next year!

Very very poor air conditioning, carpets really need to be cleaned, came across what looked like a couple of cockroaches, got bitten when asleep almost every night. We had to reset the back screen door all the time. This place is really showing its age and needs more up keep.

Great spot but we should have planned for longer.

We had a great stay! With the sliding doors open, there was a great breeze through out the unit. Swimming pool was literally in front of the unit about 15-20 steps. It was so close, the kids didnt want to go to the beach after the first day. The back had a great view of the pond along the golf course. The dryer needs work, but functions at the delicate setting. Our stay was too short. We had just started really being relaxed when we had to pack and go.

Time away

We pretty well only spent our evenings at the condo. Only disappointment for us was the air conditioning. Whenever I needed anything the owners were prompt to answer. We’ve been to the islands numerous times, but it was our friends first so we tried to get them to see as much as they could.

Great property and location at Turtle bay. Like many reviews air conditioning is not doing well. However, I went in April and it was okay with ceiling fans. Even in the bedroom I didn’t use air conditioning As it was way too loud and makes water noises. I also wish there is Keurig coffee machine. Otherwise everything else was great. No issues with check in. I also recommend food trucks :). Thank you

Great location, lots of amenities

This condo at Turtle Bay was conveniently located and had lots of amenities. The pool was just steps from the front door. It was in a gated community, so we felt very safe. Before arrival I got a call from the owner letting us know there was an issue with one of the sinks… it was fixed promptly the next day. The owner was very nice with which to communicate and was prompt to return my messages. It was an easy walk or drive to the beach. They provided beach towels and beach gear, which made it convenient for a day at the beach. The condo is located minutes from Polynesian Cultural Center and from food trucks. It is also only about a 30 minute drive to North Shore. There were two separate bedrooms with king sized beds and each had their own bath. Downstairs, there was plenty of room for all of us to gather and play games or watch television. If I had to make any negative comments, the A/C unit in the main bedroom did not work very well, however, all of the rooms have a large sliding door with a screen to the outside that we opened. It provided plenty of breeze to cool the room. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. Mahalo!

Peeling paint, less than professional cleaning job

Great location, but the condo is really worn out. The exhaust fan in the upstairs bath has failed and walls in bathroom appear to be moldy. Sink in bathroom was not properly cleaned, tub is either chipped or also not properly cleaned. Bedroom door upstairs needs to be cleaned or painted. Quality of the linens was poor.

Definitely would stay again!

We appreciate your attend to the cleanliness and amenities in your unit. For our family of four adults and one 2.5 years old, the unit was just the right fit. The kitchen was well supplied with dishes, pots and pans, and met our needs. The gas grill on the patio worked well. Bathrooms and linens were fresh and clean. As we stayed in the unit over Thanksgiving weekend, the weather wasn't an issue and we didn't need the AC units, just ceiling fans. The only problem we experienced with the unit was the bedroom doors rattling at night because of the wind, but wind was really blowing (wind warnings and rain). The unit's location was convenient and close to the stables and hiking trails. Oh, and an added benefit was the view of the lake on the golf course out the back doors! We would definitely stay again.

Location was amazing. Pool and tennis court was close. Beach items were made available. Our groups main complaint was the air conditioning downstairs doesn’t work, and the washer only works on delicates.

The unit is pretty much as described. however it needs a deep cleaning and spruce up. Ceiling fans, vents were covered in dust. The a/c unit in the bedrooms are located in a corner near the floor,, so the a/c blows onto one side of the bed (one person gets air blasted and the other gets no circulating air). Next time we would opt for a unit with central a/c. Otherwise it was as described

Charming apartment with some shortcomings

The apartment lies in a beautifully arranges estate park. The apartment spreads over 2 floors separating the living and the bedroom areas, has a little terrace towards the golf course and a pool right opposite. The estate park is next to the turtle bay resort hotel and surrounded by a golf course. There were a few things that didn’t fully meet our expectations. There are only 2 tiny air conditions in the upstairs bedrooms which are so loud, we couldn’t use them during the night. There is no a/c on the ground floor, but every room had a large vent at the ceiling. In the kittchen most handles were slightly “fatty” and the equipment did also not match what we found in the previous two weeks. Similar for the bathrooms, which were a lot simpler than the others. This apartment was priced somewhat below the apartments we rented on the other 2 islands which made the price/quality relation still ok, except for the bad a/c. At the end of the day you are getting a charming package when you rent with the right expectation. Ours was elevated from the two other apartments we had before.

The good and not so good

The location was excellent for what we wanted. The condo was a good size, except for the kitchen. (1person). The air conditioner in the 2 bedrooms did not leave the rooms very cool. The “island” breeze was not enough for the heat and humidity. The fans are tiny and do not go on high. They do not circulate much air. The condo is dated and there were many areas that had a lot of dust and were not maintained. The grill they offer was disgusting! I was unable to use for our food. I thought it was pricey for what we received. Hope this helps.

Turtle Bay Vacation

The owners sent us information about how to get to the property and instructions about gaining access to the resort and the condo. They also sent helpful details about local beaches and amenities. The condo was in a great location and was very well stocked with utensils and more than generous start up supplies. There was ac upstairs in bedrooms but not downstairs which was uncomfortable at times but we were out most of the time so it was not too much of an issue. The only real issue was the cleanliness. This condo really needs a deep cleaning. When you are paying a cleaning fee you expect it to be more than surface clean.

North Shore stay

It was just as it showed and stated. Walking distance to several beaches, stables and Turtle Bay resort and golf. Windy and cloudy most of our stay. Recommend you talk with locals and find out the best local places for eating. We did and it was great!

We have been coming to the North Shore for the last 35 years. Finally, in 2003 we were able to purchase our home away from home at the Kuilima Estates. We spend many holidays with our family here, as we love the surf, beaches and aloha spirit of this beautiful Island of Oahu!

Why they chose this property

Our property is located on the very west end of the Kuilima Estates West that provides more privacy then other units within the community.
The Hawaiian trade winds seem to focus on our condo and provide a constant comfortable flow of fresh air day and night!

What makes this property unique

The condo is located at the Northern most tip of the island. A 5 minute walk to the Turtle Bay Resort with all its wonderful restaurants, surfing and snorkeling. World famous Sunset Beach, Pipeline and Waimea Bay are all a short distance away. The Polynesian Cultural Center is also only a 20 minute drive toward the east side of the Island, with Chinaman's Hat and it's gorgeous scenery a little farther down the road.
