About this property
Riverside Lodge and Camping Pod in the New Forest
Riverside Lodge is 2 bedroomed 2 bathroom lodge complete with it's own glamping pod that increases the occupancy to 6. Clad in cedar, the Lodge is set in a spectacular location on the bank of the River Avon in Hampshire. With far reaching views across open countryside, Riverside Lodge and Camping Pod is the perfect retreat to unwind.
For those wanting a relaxing break, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Riverside Lodge is the perfect retreat, within the New Forest National Park, ideal for adults holidaying together.. The Lodge is in a prime location for fishing, bird watching and simply watching the world go by.
The accommodation comprises of two bedrooms in the Lodge, one twin and one superking which can be split into 2 singles on request, and a double bed in the Camping Pod which again can be split into 2 singles, two bathrooms and a large open plan living area with underfloor heating and with the addition of a wood burner, creating a cosy atmosphere, perfect for those chilly winter evenings. The master bedroom has patio doors that lead out onto the verandah. The pod is 15 metres from the Lodge with a direct path and situated in an ancient woodland. It has side access to the toilet and shower room in the Lodge. 4 - 6 person hot tub available to hire at £325 for the weekend or midweek break and £400 for a week stay.
Situated on one of the most beautiful and best coarse fishing rivers in the UK the Lodge literally sits on a small lake in an elevated position within yards of the river. The bi-folding doors that open out onto the verandah from the living space, that juts out over the small lake, allow you to enjoy the surroundings from the comfort of the lodge. The pretty illuminated waterfall can be activated from the verandah.
Free fishing is available in the small lake off the verandah and fishing on one swim on the river bank. A further additional 4 swims of river fishing are available at an additional cost of £75 per person per week, or £35 pp weekend subject to availability, prior to booking. A paddock and stables are available if you would like to bring your horses on a DIY basis at a cost of £100 per horse. The Lodge can be booked with Criddlestyle Cottage (sleeps 10) and Mews Hill (sleeps 11) to sleep 24 and with the addition of Jessica, our vintage vw campervan (only available in the warmer months) this can increase by 2 adults and 2 children to 28.
Encircled by water and woodland within the New Forest National Park, the Lodge is either a short drive from charming pubs, restaurants, and parks or a 15-minute walk to all the facilities at Sandy Balls, with its restaurants, pubs, shops, bike hire and leisure centre. It's within an hour's drive of Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, Winchester, the Isle of Wight, Poole Harbour, Bournemouth beaches including Sandbanks, Beaulieu, Paultons Park and numerous golf courses.
