Problem beyond the renter's control: During our journey we were contacted to be told a power failure at the rental property meant we couldn't use it. We were offered another let close by or our money back. The property was acceptable, but not at all accessible for two 75+ year olds with a lot of luggage and supplies. Another very good let was offered, which we accepted and the above comments refer to it. Unfortunately it was further away from our carefully chosen preferred location and was somewhat inconvenient. However given the difficult circumstances we wouldn't hesitate to use the service again.
Location and customer service was good. The response time and information provided seemed accurate.
However there were some issues - which I have to say I think they will resolve and they issued a unsolicited repayment for the inconvenience.
The main issue was cleanliness. Having waited for the extended period because of the current advise that extra attention would be paid, it was disappointing to find unclean areas and undermined our confidence. In addition basic elements were missing. There wasn’t enough crockery, no kitchen scissors, no grater, only 1 wineglass. It just felt as if no real attention had been paid to the property or to the fact that they knew 4 adults were staying. In addition the WiFi bill had to be paid as we discovered no WiFi on arrival. It’s a shame really. They addressed the WiFi immediately and, as I said, gave some money back but for the price of the holiday this just is poor and even with those compensation it wasn’t worth the money. And a shame as the flat itself was modern. In addition one of the things about the location is that although central it is next to a very busy restaurant and opposite a hotel and consequently really quite noisy. In total I can’t say I’d especially recommend it. Furthermore this wasn’t our normal experience of HomeAway homes so it was surprising and disappointing.
