Our family returned to this house this summer after a fun week last year. Unfortunately, this visit was met with many challenges. When we arrived, there was nowhere to store our rented boat- personal boats that were not there last summer were taking up all the spaces. (The owner knew
we rented a boat again, as he had to submit a letter in order for us to receive a permit for Lake Summit.) When we reached out to ask about this, his solution was to tie a boat to the front of the dock which is the only swimming area. We voiced frustration, and the response was, "I appreciate your visit. I'm happy to refund your stay. Please look at the bright side. You chose to return." This is not an appropriate response to someone paying a lot to rent your property.Other issues that arose were electrical safety- a broken bulb in a bathroom that sparked when the switch was on, shower heads did not work, and the dock was in serious need of repair- broken steps, splintering wood that got into many children's feet, and raised nails and screws. These are sizable problems on their own, and once added up, they are unacceptable for such a pricey rental property. It's a shame because the house had been a great fit for our family, but there were too many negative aspects this year to give a positive review.
